Maybe be my area .. static in the air?? QUOTE (tint51 @ Nov 2 2009, 10:43 AM) [*]726547[/*] Anyone have stacic problem film and if you do how to over come problem..For template cutter /plotters.. Maybe be my area .. static in the air?? Some hang a tinsel strip on the rear of the plotter, the film brushes past it when it goes through. Helps dissipate that static. Works best IMO For a quick fix tape a damp dryer sheet to the back and let it rest on the film as it passes through. Make sure its not going to get in the way of the film getting through the plotter.
I've had static in the past so bad that when I went to cross cut after plotting I shocked the circuit board (burned it up) I had to send my plotter in to graphtec for repair, it happened twice the second time I let the rep from the sign shop switch the circuit board out. It was only with certain films in particular, I purchased the copper brush just for the back of the plotter and problem solved. Or you can drape your own tinsel on the back of the plotter or let it rest on your film as its cutting. I've learned to always rub the chassis of the plotter to kill static before touching any buttons.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. © 1999 - 2009 Ric Wellman All Rights Reserved. Contact: tintdude[a]gmail.com | |||
