Full Version: new shop coming...

Hey,
I am looking at an old building to open a shop at. Got a guy that wants to do detailing and I need a place in that town to do tinting. I think the price is right and the location is extremely PRIME!

I am going to try and bring the building and signage back to the way it was when it was still the "Star Service Station" that was there for many many years. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the original station in Fairfield. I have found a couple pics so far on one Star in another town. They had stations in just about every town around.

Building is approx 40 x 20 and the bays are 14 x 20. Almost not deep enough for the stupidly long trucks today, but still should work out nicely....

I really, really like that idea. beer.gif

Even though that's before my time, the older I get the more I find that kind of stuff really cool.

Cool idea!! People like nostalgia and will stop to check you out. I know from experience. I just throw up my doors and people driving by can see inside my shop and see my old signs and auto related stuff.

There's a shop in Panama City, FLA. that remodeled an old gas station & did a great job... I can't remember the name of the place but some searching may find it. I've been by there once while I was down there & was very impressed by the look of it!

got a chance to get back in today. The bays are 26 feet deep and 14 feet wide. Not sure why I came up shorter when I stepped off the outside. The building is 26 x 42....needs some good old scrubbing and cleaning. One bay door will probably work, but the other is simply rotted out on a couple panes and the spring is not even there. I am sure it would be about the same money to fix the old door as to buy a new one....

Still working out a deal and finances....

some nice metal/glass doors would look sweet on that building with some nice simple graphics. I forget who, but someone on here has some like that and they put like bright ass red on the top with stars and chrome and stuff. It looked sick

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
