Question about Computer Cut

I have the newest version of Computer Cut (3.0, I believe) and it tells me that I can use Corel Draw to upload an image and import it to Computer Cut, but when I click on the file to import I keep getting an error message. Could someone take me through a step-by-step of importing a file from Corel?

Particularly, what file format do I have to use to import to Computer Cut?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Our plotter software simply imports files. I am not sure if computer cut will accept corel as an output device. Have you done it with the computer cut plotter?

i called computercut about that very thing. I use corel draw 10, and when you save the file, you need to save it as a adobe illustrator file or .ai file version 3.0...if you need help, call me 985-868-9626

Every time I try to import the file, it says that there was an error importing it.

when you go to save in corel draw, on the save file screen, it gives you a choice of file type...you need to save it as a adobe illustrator file. then another screen will pop up and save it as a 3x.

You can't cut a bitmapped file. There are two kinds of files, Raster files and Vector files. All Raster files are bitmapped files and will have extensions like .bmp, .tif, .jpg Vector files are calculus based lines that are cuttable. At some point you must "trace" your file to make it cuttable. When you import the file across to computer cut, make sure the file type is appropriate. In other words, make sure computer cut is looking for the right kind of file so it knows how to recognize it.

I guess I should add that this file type business should be in a drop down box where it can be chosen on the import screen. Maybe there is a triangle arrow indicating more choices than just what is listed.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
