i tinted a 95 nissan maxima 2 months ago. on the second day he complained about some window bubbleling which i fixed the next date. we went through the whole car and told him that the tint needs time to cure. 2 months later he comes to me now and tells me that he is not happy with the tint job and wants his money back PLUS removing the tints... i told him all i can do is to fix whatever is wrong and there is no way he will get his money back also if he wants me to remove his tints he will have to pay for it. what would you guys do? i just hate dealing with f&%*$&@ customers. i feel better now
He paid for a film install, you installed the film.
He doesn't like after 2 months, too bad ! He doesn't want to pay to have it removed, time for him to leave ! Sounds like the ultimate idiot ! If you can't make him happy and he wants a refund, I would never let him keep the tint. Even though its more work, I'll never give the customer my work for free. I'd rather eat the time and labor for removing the tint. Never let them walk away thinking they just got away with a free tint job. If word gets around to just keep picking apart your work and you'll give in and refund the job, you'll be doing a lot of free tint jobs. On top of that you'll have more people trying to pick apart your work just to try to get free tint. Tell the customer you are sorry that you could not make them happy and you will gladly remove the tint and give them they're money back. Hopefully they can find another shop that can make them happy. Be professoinal about your approach, and at least he wont be able to tell everyone that you were a jerk about giving his money back. Not everyone can be satisfied, we can only try our best to make the others happy.
I suppose this guy would get a new stereo installed in his car, decide after 2 months that he doen't like it and wants his $$ back. and that the stereo shop is going to happily comply ?
I hope the door doesn't hit the guy on the way out !
those kind of people suk. you can't please them. stick to your guns.
if he takes you to small claims, make sure your notes have detailed info and correct(times) dates and you'll most likely win. judges like business owners who are competent and professional. good luck.
if the tint job is legal, tell him to f*ck off, if he takes you to court, he will loose. refunds dont work like that, that is his tint job that he paid for. tell him you are not giving him his money back but here are a few razor blades.

Won't the Customer have to pay all costs if they do take you to court ? There was something about punishing those who pursue frivilous lawsuits, to help cut down on the backlog in the legal system ? If the customer asked for the Film to be installed and you completed your end of the transaction and even backed up your work with a guarantee as per the quality of work then I think you've done everything needed for this or any customer to walk away feeling like they were treated fairly. I own and operate a business and I don't let my customers push me around by any means. I am very understanding, and pliable when it comes to my or my employees work, but I will not allow people to contract me to do work for them and then take advantage of the situation. I only have one Wife to push me around. I think having a protocol on how you respond to discrepancies with customers and sticking to it, is the best way to have people understand what you will and won't do during or post 'work'.
