when i was doing my paper work for 2003 taxes, i noticed how much i had spent on electrical bills. so i went back to 2001 to see what i paid for the year. in 2001 i paid $1150 for the year. in 2003 i paid $2510. i haven't done anything different, nothing has changed, i do the same thing day in day out. i went back to 1998 and my bills for the year were $1075. nearly every year up to 2002 was right around $1100. then in 2002 it jumped up to $1600. then this year it goes to $2500???? WTF? i knew everything was going up, but DAMN. if i did 500 cars a year, i would need to raise the price on each one $3 JUST to cover the EXTRA electricity.

1200 square feet shop with no AC and no heating and I use about $60/month on electricity. I did install an AC window unit above my door and during the Summer, the bill goes up to as high as $90.

litespeed seriously ac in frisco! just wear shorts and a t-shirt!
if I was paying that much in electricity I would buy a generator and use it for the heat guns for a month and see what my bill was then! maybe even hook up the lights to it and see if they bill you ! then you can say I havn't even used any electric, sounds like someone is steeling electricity from your shop someone next door has plugged into your wires with out you knowing it! I would check it out!

Sprinter, Cost of living in the S.F. Bay Area is a rip off. They get you for everything. Nothing is cheap. Fremont and San Leandro gets quite a bit hotter than San Francisco. If you go over the hills, the temperature climbs another 10-15 degrees so we have a very wide range of temps here. On a typical day in the Bay Area, you can have a temperature of around 55 degrees along the coast. Move into the Bay and it will be about 65-75. Climb over the hills and you will get about 90.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
