Full Version: Multimeter leads?

I am on the lookout for some leads for my multimeter that have a sharp point and hoook affire,...let me explain. :booga

One of the problems with using a meter is that you have to generally bare back the insulation. I want to be able to poke the wire with the sharp prong and get my reading.

I have attached a poor drawing of what I have in mind...I'm sure trhey exist--dont know where??

Ah, mine aren't like that. Mine are finger busters, poke the finger when it slips off the wire.

same here. I just keep my tip very sharp and it usually doesn't slip off the wire. I don't use a multimeter, I use a Snap-On computer-safe circuit tester. EECT301A.

I use the Snap-On Vantage unit. It has a nice multi-meter, and a fairly quick responding oscilliscope, with is nice when testing for tachometer signals or pulse type signals. It is a little expensive for what I am doing, but my hubby the mechanic uses it also for testing computer components/sensors.

I bought my form the snap-on guy.

Please visit Parrot Test clip Invention's site Parrot Test Leads Invention to find a new Gripping test clip with a metal tip. The connection is made between the new metal tip and a steel hooked rod. The connection has a low resitence as the metal tip is directly connected to the leads.
The accesibility to narrow places is good as well as the operator -signal insulation.
The tip maybe is not as sharp as you want but you can try to use it in many applications.

The site has lots-o-phone stuff...speaking of which: Warning Off Topic
does anyone know of a source to buy phone gag device which causes the "mark's" phone to dial wrong numbers 25% of outgoing calls. Used to have cataloge with that in it.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
