Full Version: Vacuum Thermoformer

Tintcutter
In pursuit of signwork, I ended up with a thermoformer that melts plastic sheet up to .25" thick into a jelly that can be formed around anything you put down in the machine. Have you any ideas for tinting uses or otherwise? Some ideas are specialty or custom individual cutout tool trays, plastic car parts etc. It can make a mold about every 5 minutes and is used to make 3 dimensional signs, but any mold can be put in it. I was thinking about putting my guns in there to make custom fit gun case padding.

we took all the tools out of a toolbox tray and lined them up just like in the box and pulled molds for that. It was pretty cool.

Tintcutter,

That sounds really cool.

How much does something like that cost?
Tintcutter
they vary, this one was 15000 new.

From the sound of it, I'm not surprised!

for those MacGuyvers out there, build your own Vacuum form table.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
