hmmmmmmm.gif My 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme won't start... at all. I have replaced the battery and the alternator already and its is dead, so much so that my little alarm light for my alarm system wont even light up, and its just a simple LED. I am out of ideas, and am very frustrated with the fact that my car withonly 66k miles on it in very good condition, with a good system in it wont start... (i disconnected the system, so that isnt doing anything to hurt the car) plz help i have no clue what to do and this is my last option b4 taking it in to the dealership and paying a shitload of money that i wouldnt have to if someone knows what the problem is... please help. :booga

Try replacing the cable that runs from the starter to the battery. Or at least look at it. If it's badly corroded, it might just be the problem. I had that problem on an 84 GP, so it might be worth checking out.

i looked at the cable you were talking about, and it looked really good considering its 17 years old... well the car only has 66K miles on it and is really godd condition... but these problems can be expected with and older car, have any more suggestions icon_confused.gif ... oh and now my battery wont even take a charge! mad3.gif inot.gif

Damn...I thought sure that was it. It might look fine from the outside, but if you peel back a bit of the protective rubber, and you see a blue tinge to it, it's bad. It's the only thing I can think of unless the starter itself is fried.

Maybe just a defective battery? dunno.gif Take it back to where you bought it, they can check it for you.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
