G 35 Coupe

Full Version: G 35 Coupe
I have one of these to do this week. Can someone fill me in on the doors on these vechicles. Something about the window going down a little when the door opens? I dont get these kind of cars to do very often.
WTF is a G35? I hate when they use fancy letters to describe a car..like the zx4.."oh, you have an Escort?"
if its the sports coupe, its the same thing as the new 350z,,,, except this
one is not a hatchback.. just unscrew the screws on the door jambs that control the window regulator... Not a lot of room in the back seat area..... Charge a little extra for this car.
the g35 is like a 350z except this thing is a coupe with a back seat, and is a mother f-er to get to the back glass, it killed my back.
the doors just open them up and you will see by the latch on the door jam there is a little button covered in rubber, just push it in and the window will go up, it only moves 1/2 inch at the most, somebody said you can unscrew the little plunger button, i just taped it down with duck tape and it stayed.
So what is it? A Nissan?...Infinity?
I own a DV6......Dodge van with 6 cylinders...
infinity
Sorry Ot. It is a infinity. Hell I didnt know either. Thanks for the help mdog and sl*t. So Ill need some pain medicine after this one. Maybe Ill send it north to OT!!!
OLD MAN TINTIN .... Better send some celbrex with that car
So after tinting the doors, does the window going up and down when you open and close the door cause any problems?
Nah..just don't trip the latch till it's set up a bit, you be fine.
I tinted one last week and my hip is still out the back seat folds down the latch is in the trunk it is still a muther the doors went easy ; however we take the door pnls off so that helps ...the back wasn't bad other than getting in it to clean and do the bottom edge with a card and paper towel.. it was some 18 year highschool grad present some doctors kid....
nothing worse than an 18 year old showing up with a high end car that daddy bought him, i hate that s**t.
no kidding...I never had a car bought for me....and not that that so bad getting a car form your parents...Iknow we all want to give are childern things and make thing easier and good for them....but come on.. I bought my first car at age14 and worked on it for a year before my mom drove it for a year..at 16 I had my ins cash and got my license...andyou knowwhat I treated it I'm sure alot better than this kid treats this $35,000 or so car..I knoew what I broke I had to fix....dad wasn't handing over the master card frigin grrrrr......kids..*L*
oh BTW.....I love those kids dads cash.........*LMAO*
Lotta McGyverin' going on with the latch, duct-tape and so forth.
It's much easier to disconnect the battery leads once the window rolls up fully into the frame then trim as usual. No gaps - no problems. TOTW TD ???
Easiest to just unscrew the screw from the door jams like Tintslut said above. You guys forgot to mention about the dot matrix on the top of the rear window. Can't sand them down because of the antennae line but just use some extra heat to get the adhesive to stick better. Works for me. Here is a link to one of the G35 coupes that I did recently.
http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/sh...sb=5&o=&fpart=1 Here is a picture of his car tinted with 20% rear and 30% sides
also...removing the rear seat gives you alot more room to get in there...two bolts and an easy cable disconnect and it's out of the way..
i just did one today. my god is that not a car for tall guys to tint. thank god im just a runt at 5/7 that bg has no room for working easy but cramped
man im 6 foot tall and ive had to tint two of em already (I own one). I was laying down in the trunk and had the pattern handed to me. I cant imagine having to do this car by myself. Doors are easy...slightly curvy...but the roll up and down thingy is just like a beamer coupe...no biggy.
It is called Infiniti. Don't mean to jump in or anything but that is what it's called. Great car and was going to get one but tight back seat space had me go with an FX35 instead. Ahh, that is also an Infiniti with the same VQ 3.5 V6 engine. Okay, now I would like to tint the front windows since the rest are factory tinted but would like for it all to match closely. Does anybody know what film tint I should get installed for the FX35? I know Llumer film tint is recommended (Llumar, got ya there :-)) but not sure what shade and percentage. Would 35% gray/charcoal be very close (grey, I know).
Seriously and rephrasing my question, what quality film for the front side windows would be the closest match for the rest of the car? Thanks for your help.
door jums have to come off. Do not touch the battery.
The screw holding the door jamb button acts like a negative trigger and ground so as soon as you unscrew it the winder pops up..Thats cool.
LAFX, don't start with the factory tint bit. It's not tint, it's darkened glass. ZERO UV protection, VERY LITTLE heat rejection, and NO shatter protection. Do yourself a favor and get the whole thing tinted. Put a light shade (50%) around the back, and stick with legal on the front doors. Go with a reputable shop. Usually what they recommend will look the best. Does it really matter to you what brand it is?
EASY CAR, BUT LIKE OTHER HAVE ALREADY SAID THAT REAR WINDOW IS A HARD TO GET TO SPOT.
I LAID IN THE TRUNK AND ROLLED THE FILM IN NO PROBLEM, BESIDES SOME SORE ABS LATER ON.I COULDN'T HELP BUT KEEP LAUGHING AT THE FACT THAT I HAD TO LAY ON MY BACK TO TINT A FRIGGIN WINDOW. I just stick a big C clamp on the button
Hey, new here................ Hi.
I've been tinting too long, I think. How (or with what tool) do y'all get past the speaker covers. We took the trunk cover back to see how they screw in (from the top) - but didn't want to leave a mark on the customer's New Baby as we couldn't figure out how to get the covers off. Or if you don't take speaker covers off, what tool do you use to get past the covers to the bottom of the window? I've run into this on a couple of cars now. What obvious move am I missing? Thanks for ANY suggestions (yep. yelled that one.) tkm

All you have to do is unscrew the plunger over the door pins to trick the car into thinking the door is closed. For the back window, it is best to fold the back seat down. It makes the back window very accessible.
my favorite car to tint, iuse clamps to keep the door up and roll the backglass in,takes bout 30min or less

lol that must be you in the pic ,nice photoshop skillz grampa
The best way to do the back glass is fold the rear seat back and lay down to do it. No need to do sit-ups or crunches for next couple of days.
yes very easy car just undo the screws the rest is a breeze tight back glass but easy

This is a pretty easy car to do.....unless you're 6'5 like me.....tough to crawl into the back seat..wish it was like the 350Z and had a hatch lol
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
