Does anyone else out there do Blinds?
Where does one get the stuff from? Help! does anyone know?
HunterDouglas my boy, HunterDouglas. There on the net. They sell to everyone. Just be careful, it's not like burning a piece of film. You screw up a $5000.00 blind order where your only making 10 to 15% margins.......put a fork in ya - your done.
another good company for retractable solar screens is Arquati, USA. An Italian company with a plant in Dallas. Great people and products. Interior or exterior, many different fabrics and types of units. Ask for Mike or Don @ 800.882.8393. check out website @ www.arquatiusa.com.
Thanks, guys.
sorry dont really know anyone that does blinds all i really install is the pull shades
I know its an old post, but I have just got into blinds as well, with 60% profit there are a great alternative to film if your clients is not keen on film, some are fabrics which are transparent and reflective on the back, I am very impressed with them so far, and are simple to fit compared to film.

The window blinds market is 10 or 20 times the size of the window film market, i'm surprised this forum area doesn't see more action
You are probably right, I am getting a good responce with regards to the blinds, and it seems that blind companies here only have fancy fabric that all they really do is block out the view and sun, my ones are transparent or blackout or semi transparent, with solar rejection up to 92% for film and 85% for some fabrics.

Most of my dollars come from contract installations for blinds. Home Depot being a major ticket. This is were I get most of my window film customers.
I started selling interior shutters last year too. Real good money in those. By I do not sell blinds and probably never will.
The last 2 hgouses I've tinted-I've ran into the blindman whos 75 miles from home! Big demand i guess!
so...does the blindman drive..?

we are major in produce the wooden and bamboo blinds. The products include the 1" ,2",3" valance blinds etc. and the shutters are good too. and our products sold mainly in Europe such as Netherland ,Germany, Italy etc .My email:jessyzhou2006@yahoo.com.cn
I've been measuring and installing blinds for a few years now, shutters as well. Iin that in the span of a week I might measure 100 windows sometimes more. Even at 99% success rate, that still means one of my measures is screwed, and if I can't make it fit I'm buying that blind.
I think to refer a blind job over to someone else and get a 10% referral might be a better option. It's nice to walk up to and away from a film job knowing the material costs little in relation to a blind/shutter. Film ways nothing in comparison to blinds and shutters. Also, for blinds you needs parts parts and more parts/tools whereas film entails a bucket full of tools and a few extras. Film = less stress/more money
very glad to know this forum. I am from China and running blinds and shutters. our shutters export to Australia and America. it is popular in the american market. kindly see our website www.delex-blinds.com

Film = less stress/more money This guy is right. We got about as much business in the blind industry as Blind guys have in the film industry. When blinds are called for, I hand them a card. I do quite a bit of installs for a "Blind Guy" who decided to get into film.Sure, he can buy all the film he wants, but can't seem to find anyone reliable who can install. (Go figger!) So he gathers up 3 or 4 hundred sq/ft worth of work, and I go up to knoxville and install.Problem is, the jobs are mostly one or two windows per home, WAAY up there. He's not gonna find a tinter who will do that for what he wants to pay. He is crying the blues at what I charge him
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
