Garage Doors

This is my secret I've never let anyone in on but I want all my fellow artist to have since the times are tough for some... Go to all the local Garage Door companys and show them specialty films..frost, deco films, safety films and standard flat glass applications..It really has potential for opening some doors..Offer to tint the doors for them before they are installed, ask them if you can have a few steel hand samples of garage door windows so you can give them a few samples to offer there customers. Try to get the almond color door with a plain window, put some bronze film on it and sho them how it sets off the color of the panel ..you will be shocked at the outcome. My family owns an Overhead door company and I'm now the 3rd generation president of it as well as my flat glass business I sell a bunch of glass upgrades to my customers , Sometimes it is the only way they will buy the optional windows in a door because of the film..Before I started doing this our glass sales for doors were about 20%--now it's up to 75% of every door we sell with windows has film applied..It will give your local dealers a one up on there compitition and if one starts losing sales because the other has film they will soon be looking to offer it to...Just do not ssell them film so they can put it on try to do the application for em..we don't want them to give film a bad name..Or just give em your name and see if you can get referals..You will be suprised. FYI plain windows are about $20.00 each, after adding film you can get $35.00 each this makes the price per window about $13.00-$18.00 a square foot..thats some good loot...better than $6.00 sq ft huh?

very good marketing tool DOT. It also works for home and commercial pre fab windows as well. Ive got a Pella window distributor that sends me quite a few bay windows a month. If the customer is willing to pay what they pay for bay windows its an easy upsell for the distributor. Plus he sends me vehicles as well.... go figure.

There are quite a few areas where you can drum up business. It really depends upon if you want automotive or flat glass. Interior decorators are a good source as well as construction companies. Auto Glass companies as well as detail shops and alarm/stereo stores are other sources for potential business. I have seen alot of the newer homes installing garage doors with clear windows at the top and thought about that idea a while back but never followed through with it. I have only tinted about 3 garage roll up door windows but I specialize in auto. Never thought about going to the source. Thanks.

now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
