tip when you are trying to cut out a piece of tint and cant see where the dot matrix ends or you cant see the solid black boarder real good, spray the area with white foaming glass cleaner, sprayway, and then shine your drop light behind it. This gives you a much brighter illumination of the area where you are cutting.

Re: tip of the week SOFT CUT = NO RUTT in the glass of course. I m referring to how to cut on glass. Dont push down on olfa or cutter of choice. use index finger to guide blade not push and pull it along. You'll scratch the glass if you push down to hard or pull with your index finger on the back on the blade holder..

Re: tip of the week QUICK TIP
do u hate when you have small pieces of tint that you want to save but dont know how to mark it for future use. Well save the dooo da dooo thingsfrom the toilet paper roll , you know the card board inner thingy. well roll the film up and and insertthe film inside the roll and you can write the film size and shade an the roll. it makes it real easy to find a piece down the road. Bet you never thought they would be useful besides puting them to your mouth and goin doo da dooooooo

Re: Tip of the week I tried this and it worked great. on the buick century a 2000 on the back glass you know how it curves on the bottom like a t-bird or a 96 impala ss sort of like a camero kind of down and out, what I did was to wet shrink the top area then cut out the third brake light and then the film was squegeed down as if you had just shrank it, the film went down with no hassels at all. to relax the film I ran the heat gun and carded it down from about 8 inches up from the bottom edge, the install was just as easy film did'nt fall away from the glass on the bottom as sometimes it does with these kinds of rear glasses.

Re: Tip of the week This tips has to do with tinting but not actual tinting. Don't buy a gas hog truck, get a 4 banger truck that gets 25-30mpg not 12mpg like my Dodge. With rising gas prices and a war coming gas is going higher and profits down.

Re: Tip of the week I got one . On ford rear sliding rear windows that are sorrounded by the hard plastic gasket. To eliminate any light gap between the gasket and tint. Use a tube of black silicone with the tip cut very small, put a small bead of silicone around the gasket to cover up any light gap. You can also use this on the center latch on rear sliders too.

Re: t.o.t.w Here is my shot for totw. On old hatch back cars were the shocks are bad, instead of using a old broom or prop rod to hold it up use vise grips to clamp on the shock to hold it up. Not sure if this is old news but a cool trick. Oooooh and also if a customer says he use to tint but doesn't want to hasle with it charge $20 more for all the stupid questions that follow.

On vehicles that have the fuzzy felt-like material on the edges of the roll ups, roll down the windows, and lightly go over the felt with your heat gun on all sides of each window. This will fuse the loose particals together (sort of melts them) so that they arent floating around when you rinse the window prior to install....works like a champ, and youll get a lot cleaner job!!...This also works at the bottom of those pesky rear decks that you dont want to remove, but be carefull not to over do it!...do I hear fire trucks?
