Shrinking the Top
Pulling the film keeps the excess running up and down and prevents the film from laying over to the side or forming finger shapes that you would have with other heat forming techniques. This allows you to get much more shrink into an area without having to manipulate the film much. Keep your angle low and the film tight as you feed the film in. The 3M color stable film can take a lot of heat during shrinking, but other films might not hold up so well, or need to be worked more slowly. Practice is the key and the finer points of the technique will depend on the type of window film you are using.
