A Dot Matrix Technique

I learned this from an Italian tinter 6 months ago and tried it myself, it works. Apply the film to the glass in the conventional way, squeegee out the water from the middle areas, but 1" all the way round don't pin down the film where its on the dot matrix, the water solution softens the glue if left for a while. I leave it for 5 minutes, when 5 minutes are up, pin the edge with a hard card, it sticks good with no silver edge. This works with solargard, I havn't tried other manufactures but can't see why it wont work.
