What mounting solution is everyone using to install clear paint protection film? Just looking for some additional info, as I am always interested in learning something new. I have been installing the product for about 4 years now, and the best solution that I have found is a product called "Rapid Tac 2" which is mainly used to install vinyl graphics, but I have found it to be an excellent solution for installing the material, but again, I am always eager to try new techniques in order to increase productivity. Thanks. BK

I normally use the slip solution I use for tinting. I dont want it to tack up too quick. I squeej most of it out with the slip, then when all that is left is small fingers then I use a 75% water/25% alcohol solution. This works great for me.

Invinca-shield sells a slip solution concentrate. I think its about $30 and is good for about 50 gallons or so. For all I know it could be baby shampoo, but it works great.

speed.. with that slip solution you mentioned, does it still let the material stick on radical curves?.. bk

I use alcohol and water to tack the center and the edges. Once you get the section with a radical curve anchored on one side, hit the curve with lots of the slip solution. Then I use a folded micro-fiber towel and push the section around the curve. Hit the edge with the alcohol and tack it down. Now you can squeegee out the excess solution. I always spray the top of the film with the slip solution so the squeegee slides smoothly.
This will work on most tough curves. The most important thing is how and where you stretch the material to get it to fit.

I use Film-on for all of my main install. Gives plenty of slip when I need it and sticks when I don't. I also use 10/90 alcohol to water for the wrapped edges and any other tricky area.

Johnsons and water for the install and same as J.P for the tricky areas the finger dont want to stick
