Paint Protection Film Kits or Bulk?
Q: I have been doing paint protection film for a few years but only in spurts like not even one every month sometimes i go months w/o doing them. I dont have the money or means to travel to take the class. The ones i have done have turned out good for the most part but i have so much troble w/ them, it takes me forever. I cant decide if i should use bulk roll or kits. I waste too much w/ bulk.but kits r expensive, so if anyone has any help for me it would be greatly appreciated.
A: You will never get quick and real good at it until you apply it on a regular basis. Kits are easier and quicker to put on in most cases but bulk is were you learn more. Everyone has thier prefferd way. The kits are just as wastfull as bulk on alot of cars unless your cutting out your own and placing the pieces where you want on the sheet.
A: Been there! There is a real learning curve in applying paint protection. Like window tint it can be very frustrating. You can invest a lot of time and film in the process of getting it. But that is what it is, an investment. We saw the potential in our area and stuck it out through the learning curve and it has turned out well for us. Realistically most of the time we use kits which are more expensive, but you don't risk cutting into the paint. Some applications however we do with bulk and just carefully score the material trying to avoid cutting into the paint. They both come into play in different situations. You just have to do a lot of installs and get training if possible, videos, but mostly just doing it and you will get quicker and better. If it was too easy you would have too much competition. Hang in there.
