Clear bra PPF School
Q: I am going to a training course for clear bra installation, anything I should know first?
A: I have trained hundreds of people in this business from installing PPF, to marketing, to you name it, and of everything that it boils down to is the installation. You can be the best sales person in the world but if you are not able to give that desired installation appearance the buyer is looking for you will have a hard time selling this product and this all starts with training. Tom is right, the instructor will make a big difference in your success as he/she will be the cornerstone of your adventure in PPF. A well rounded trainer should be able to answer any and all questions you have regarding this product such as installation, product info, marketing, sales techniques, point of purchase material, etc etc. A few recommendations I have before you attend your training class...
1) Write down as many questions as you can think of before you go, even the ones you think may be dumb. 2) Read as much information as you can about the product so you have a head start so to speak on what this is all about before you step into that class, everything will make much more sense. 3) If you were glasses, BRING THEM. I can't tell you how many people I have trained that wear eye glasses and don't bring them. THE PRODUCT IS INVISIBLE!! It's one thing to teach someone, but to teach someone that can't even see where the film is at on the vehicle, very frustrating for both the instructor and the student. 4) Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Dress the part basically. You will be bending over, kneeling down, spraying water everywhere, get some comfortable clothes and avoid the long sleeve shirts, especially ones that may shed lint excessively. 5) Bring lotion or a moisturizer for your hands. Now this may sound dumb, BUT, if you are not used to your hands being wet for 8 hours straight, they are going to wrinkle and some people's hands are very sensitive to being in alcohol all day. 6) Like Blade said, PPF is different from Window Tinting. It can be very frustrating at times installing the product. You have to be very patient and pay close attention to how the instructor demos each piece. When I teach a class, I verbally try to cover everything from A-Z when it comes to installing and when I get to the hands on part, there may be a few things that I do that I might have missed explaining, so pay attention and ask questions, it will only benefit you and the other individuals in the class. 7) Buy a few kits and take them back with you after you have finished the class. I have had some of the best students come through my training class only to have them call me 2 weeks later and tell me they are doing their first install and have forgotten everything. I recommend buying a few kits, installing one kit every other day for the first two weeks. Install the hood/fenders on your car on Monday, the bumper on Wednesday, the Hood on your buddies car on Friday, the bumper on his car on Saturday, etc etc. If you do all of the kits in one day, you better hope you have some more installs within the next 2-3 days or you may end up forgetting some of the techniques you were taught.
Those are a few things to start with, others reading this, feel free to add some of the things I missed so this can be more beneficial.
Happy Hunting
