Heating Glass Near Moulding
This week's tip:
When heating the outside of glass near the edge of the rubber moulding to lay down stubborn edges or small fingers, use a hardcard with a glove on or shop towel wrapped around hand to put between glass and molding to prevent burning the rubber moulding. I use one specific white teflon hardcard for this because it will deform the edge of the card from taking the heat. It also takes away the worry of burning the mirror housing on the new Fords. Been doing this for a while now and haven't smelled rubber yet You might smell your hand though if you don't protect it At times I will use a corner of the heated card to push down the film.
