Using Vinyl on the Dot Matrix
~ By mikewilliams4750 ~

The way I apply the vinyl is like this.

First I tint the window like normal, then I trim off the top portion that I want to replace either right below the dot or at the nearest defroster line.

Next I take the film on the matrix I trimmed off and transfer that to a sheet of black vinyl 2mil high performance, I make my pattern slightly larger by about a 1/4 inch around the sides and top to give you some extra coverage, now just spray the vinyl with soapy water and spray the matrix with the same, now manipulate the vinyl onto the matrix area and make sure it overlaps the film by a 1/8th inch or so and squeege the vinyl out and your done.

I overlap the vinyl over the tint, and yes it does leave a fine overlap line, I hide that overlap line under the defroster line if I can, the cavalier I cut at the bottom of the dots because the next defroster line was farther down and I didnt want to go that low, on the mustang I went to the first defrost line and its hid pretty well. I love the results, and so far Llumar hasnt found a excuse to void warranty useing vinyl like they have with the glues and stuff.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
