I went to the store and purchased the most inexpensive regular pull down paper type shades . Ripped off the paper blind shade and began rolling some tint up after I stapled the first tint to the roll on the alreay spring activated roller. Then cut 2 feet extra rolled it up took the stick from the original blind rolled that 1 inch over and melted the film on the inside with a lighter tourch and walla pull down tint shade's

But what if... You laminated two layers of film stickey sides together ? Let um dry them attatch to the blind roller. Eliminate the liner problem. They used to sell them at the first place I worked. Had a metalized strip running down the sides and a magnetic strip attatched to the window frame to make nearly air tight. If you used metalized film... which there was none existing way back then...would it stick to a magnetic strip?

The material is stiLL made and sold for shades... I walk by bulk roLLs of the stuff regularly. No liner, no adhesive, just thick film like material.

There was a "kit" for a defroster add on( I know it's still up in the attic from yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeears ago cause I laid eyes on it recently while digging around up there and checked it out) ... came with stickey tape strips on a paper like vinyl comes. The little metal line was imbedded in those clear tape strips and you stuck those to the glass then had some mechanism for the ends and wires and crap in a box. I think we musta bought it in an emergency to repair one line before we knew there was something in a bottle. Anyway, just thinking those might work along the edge of home made one.
