    Shop misleading customers

I think pretty much everything on the planet is Carbon, so every one is right. That popped in my head sipping my CARBONated soda, so if someone wants carbon film dump some soda on it and say you've been CARBON-ated bee-otch. Problem solved all around for everyone.

    Shop misleading customers

It may not be a shop that is trying to mislead a customer, I think it maybe an uneducated shop that doesn't know the difference between ceramic, nano ceramic or carbon ect.

    2018 Accord back window warning

Happened to me at work twice now, thought I should give the warning. First time I thought it was a fluke, second time I noticed a pattern. When you squeeze out the back window, the water will run PERFECTLY down the drivers side, down the inner quarter and funnel over a wiring harness that's part of the blindspot monitoring system, triggering a fault on the dash and saying see the dealer. Thankfully I work for a Honda dealership, so no biggie. If in the event this happens to you- pop the trunk, pull back the trunk liner on the left hand side by removing the cargo hook tucked in the corner (pressure clipped in) and peel it back. The harness is right there when you pull it back, you can't miss it. Unplug both harnesses and take compressed air and blow all the water out and you're back in business. Won't throw a hard code, no need to go to the dealer if it happens. Figured I'd save everyone the panic attack.

Tinted it 4 times. Still dont like it

Also that one has a gasket at the bottom of the window that can also cause it to do that. You should be able to slide the deck forward some to avoid this.

That one would be easiest with the strut supports off. Also, pop the latch covers off and maybe the wiper.

    Shop misleading customers

Whats going on everyone, this is David Read, I am the owner at Signature Glass Tinting. No one is misleading customers. A few weeks ago I received an E-mail from an anonymous person that basically told me the same thing. I have a feeling that I know who it is but thats really not important. After I received the anonymous e-mail I picked up the phone and called both manufacturers. The Wincos according to the manufacturer is a Nano Ceramic window film and the newest, latest and greatest literature, display board stickers and marketing material from the manufacturer says 'NANO CERAMIC". I don't have the literature with me right now but our new display board stickers are sitting on my desk at the shop and again they say "NANO CERAMIC" window film. When I asked my sales rep about this I was told that YES, the Wincos is a Nano-Ceramic Window Film. Now regarding the LLumar ATC, back in the day our web-site said that the LLumar ATC was the best deep dyed polyester window film on the market. We had some verbiage that the ATC was a 'CARBON STYLE" window film. Its funny, carbon is a marketing word or a buzz word. Back in the day it was a Spanish word for charcoal but now a days we have new manufacturers taking the marketing buzz words to new levels and actually trade marketing terms that everyone uses. It might be a little bit sneaky but it's very smart, so good for them. Bottom line is that we took down the "carbon style" verbiage and we are still receiving anonymous e-mails and posts like this one. If anyone has any questions about the Wincos, please simply give them a call, regarding the ATC I guess if you really are concerned about the Carbon misunderstanding try refreshing your history, cookies, cache etc. You will see that we do not use the words 'Carbon Style" any longer.

    Fading Question*

I think it’s quite simple. If our cheapest 1 ply Tint lasts as long as everyone here has spoken, just imagine how long our good stuff lasts, just saying!

    Whats up BOSS!

It seems like a city thing, growing up in the Bronx we always called people "Chief" or "boss" or whatever, never once was it meant as disrespectful and i'm surprised it bugs you. You know what bugs me and it shouldn't? when people say "i was using a guy in NJ but i guess i'll give you a shot" lol damn i hate that

    Fading Question*

I put 20% Classic Series Black, which is their cheapest 5 year warranty film, on my truck front windows to test it out i think 3 years ago and it hasn't faded or changed color at all. I looked at the edge of the glass at the top where it gets hidden by the gasket when the window is closed and there's no color change or fade, i love it's black color and great clarity. Another tint dude told me he had it on his car for 4 years and no fade or color issues. We're all told to stay away from 1 ply or cheaper films, but this stuff is better than some of the 2 ply out there, it lays down great on dot matrix and defrosters because it's thinner, and the clarity is amazing. I really have no complaints about the product at all, i rarely use it because i suck at shrinking/installing 1 ply and sell mostly SolarFX's CarbonFX. I should note that your results may vary if your down South, i'm in the chilly Northeast.

I like being called 'boss' or something like that. I hate when people call me 'sir'. Makes me feel super older then I already feel. lol

Been using this one for years along with the blue for shrinking only, heat doesn’t affect it. Cheers

    Shop misleading customers

True, plus some manufacturer reps may make them believe it is something that it is not. That was happening with Solargard Ultra Performance...some shops took it as a Ceramic because how it was worded to them.

I have seen the ATC thing on their website before. ATC is not a carbon film nor does Llumar have a carbon film. Wincos is not a nano-ceramic, it is an IR film that outperforms most ceramic films. With that being said, I have heard nothing but good things about Signature's quality along with a customer on here recently getting work there after being recommended. As far as being legal, you would need to direct that to a lawyer. I can tell you probably half of the shops in this industry mislead customers or flat out lie and this industry isn't the only one.
