I don't respond to post like this normally, but I am seeing it all to often. I understand your not trying to, but this is a slap in the face to many here. You say your extremely determined to start a business? Just any business, or a tinting business? But your not willing to sacrifice and do what it takes to do it right. This is a major issue in our industry. I'm all for new up and coming people, but it needs to be viewed more seriously. Although I was young when I started, I was married, and took quite a big pay cut to go apprentice in a shop and learn the TRADE. In the beginning of our business we struggled for a good amount of years. We invested 10's of thousands of dollars upfront. Even 18 years later it it can be hard at times. So if you really want to enter the window film industry, put in the time and sacrifice to do it right. It's a trade just like any other. The only difference is it has no regulation for entrance. If you just want any business and tint looks like a easy one to jump into, you will be in for a rude awakening. I know some will not like this post, and say "don't worry people will just come to you for the redo's" but I don't believe that's the case. It is a thorn in the side of the window film industry.(automotive mostly).I'm not trying to be rude. I hope you do start in the tint life ,correctly, and thrive in it.

I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, so if you didn't know or haven't heard of this, well; you have now. :your welcome If you use a corny tank all the time and are doing mobile work on site? You need to add the Ryobi Fast Inflator to your tool kit. If you remember to hit the corny tanks at the shop on the compressor before you leave you are usually good for the day, and nobody likes carrying around a compressor in the van. Well get you the fast inflator and a battery and you can recharge the corny on site without the compressor. It works rather well actually and will get you out of a bind if you need to pressurize your tank.

    Whats up BOSS!

I am actually really glad i posted this. The responses have given me a new outlook. I just blow it off now. I had a young guy call me boss about 5 times in a short conversation the other day. I was all I could do to not start laughing. He was a really nice kid though. I'm just going to start responding with " hey Tiger" haha J/K

Thoughts on a local film company film

If you want to not like your friend in a few years start buying from him.

You get what you pay for. Cheap stuff is always good to learn on, but do yourself and the rest of us a favor and use name brand quality stuff for the public. The warranty is only as good as the dealer/distributor network. If your "friend" stops selling it is there another distributor? Solar guard and Suntek have their own horror stories though some have good experiences with them. You might try solar FX or Express window films. They are good products and known to last. You don't see or hear anything bad about those two. Plus the distributors are great folks. @whitehog sells solar fx. Hope this helps.

Those wanting to tint see the tools and think it looks fun and its a cheap start up. You need tools often and theres much more that you need than tools. To learn on your own might take 3x longer than getting trained at a shop. If you are looking for and easy business that wont frustrate you...you’re looking into the wrong trade.

    Upgrading your brand

I have been thinking along the same lines. I had shirts and koozies made for a local car show back in September. Gave some shirts to close friends and early customers. Put koozies in the grab bag for all the pre-registered car show cars. Thinking of giving away my remaining koozies to the first X vehicles this year. Had a lot of inquires about shirts too. Next run I think I am going to sell some and get some extras for people who do a ceramic install or something. Like @Naples Tint Company said, its about keeping them talking. Everyone wears a free shirt, even if its just for yard work and their neighbors see it.
