If you're having contamination problems and also have a breezy shop or doors open. 3M makes this product I'm sure other companies do as well. I use this stuff in my paint booth when I spray a car and helps tremendously especially cuz my paint gun spraying around 25 to 30 PSI but still come out with little to no dirt in my paint jobs. So I started using this tinting cars and been finding that those damn floating particles in the air, that you see in the sun light coming through the windows, has basically disappeared. Hopefully the helps someone

How Has 2019 Been For Your Tinting

How is everyone's business going as we get closer to the end of 2019? We have been super slammed this year thanks to the long and hot summer here in Georgia. This week and last week are the first ones we haven't been booked out, so I guess it is time to slow down some and relax. Our Llumar numbers are through the roof but our Crystalline jobs this year have severely declined. I think this is mainly due to the Tesla Model 3 launching and us not tinting it. Last year we were slinging Crystalline like crazy on the Telsa Model S, but seems to be more 3's selling this year than S's. 3M Ceramic-IR should be launching dealer-wide right before SEMA, so hopefully, that will bring our 3M numbers back up by having a Ceramic option. Hopefully it has a normal appearance cause I wasn't feeling Obsidian. Plus loving the new front-end on the Silverado Z71!

How Has 2019 Been For Your Tinting

We tried PDR and went to Ding King training for it last year, around this time. We were able to practice a lot from November to January. Unfortunately and fortunately it got so busy at the shop that we didnt have time to do any PDR, afterwards. We have to go back to training for it. This year has been crazy for us. Just like you, it is now slowing down a bit. I am now training 3 interns for next year. We turned down so many customers. Our PPF and Vinyl are now getting very busy as well. I turned down every single Vinyl Wrap with a full color change because we were understaffed. Its about 2 cars per week for 6 months. We also just landed a gigantic job with our electronics department that will require 2 personnel 24/7/365. Basically its our 3rd year in business and It has been nuts compared to last year. The Tesla giga factory is bringing in many people who are from out of town and people are now making more money per hour because of Tesla. It's hard to find a job that pays less than $14/hr. Even McDonalds pays $12 now.

Loving the color combo of this blue and the Carbon Fiber accents on the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce! The after photos are still on the camera but got 3M Crystalline on every piece of glass.

I paid a mobile detailer to go to my customer workplace and take care of it. I didn’t want to inconvenience them.

In our little corner of the world, business has been phenomenal. Our sales this year surpassed last years by mid August ..and last year was off the charts.. Our tickets per project were significantly higher overall ( larger and more complex ) than previous years. Virtually all of it deco and custom printed in nature. Having the equipment and capability to produce our own film has cut our costs by almost 75% in many cases. ..which is essentially a huge bonus to our net profits. ..

I was just gifted a "red 5inch cropped squeegee blade" from 1010 Tools. I LOVE IT Moves water way better than a BlueMax and it glides like butter. I love it so much that I am going to order an extra one next time I place an order and add it to the raffle. My donation will not have the handle,,, just the blade.

    Tint school?

Tint school.....where to begin.. . . I would start by looking for more than some guy who is going to teach you which side of the film is sticky and then give you the number to the customer service desk so you can order film at retail plus 30% prices.. A good "tint school" should involve several days of marketing and sales traning. Also your chosen school should invest time in you and do some research into your area and demographic ..and offer a tailored plan of action for you. ..No need to try and open a auto tint shack if there are already 40 of them in a 5 mile radius. .. A good school should also inform you of ALL the brands available on the market and supply you with the reps names and numbers for your area. A good school will help you formulate a sales strategy for gaining business ....and keeping it. They should help inform you what it takes to keep the business successful and how to scale for growth.. I could go on and on... But there are thousands of guys who can show you how to stick plastic on glass... That's the easy part.

We’ve seen this many times. Considering 50% of our truck jobs are Silverado’s or Tahoe’s or their gmc counterpart. Previous 10 years as a ford dealership technician leads to contacts in other mannys. I spoke with one. He said this is a widely known issue on especially the 14 and 15 models. GM used an unknown company for their “panel protectant”. The dealerships see them constantly from simple water from rain or spills. We even tried plastic covers. But if left u attended the humidity and moisture alone will sweat the coating loose! GM technician as well as my own advice if this happens. Used a non abrasive white scrub pad and distilled water with a drop of cheap hair conditioner. And scrub the rest of the panel down to remove the top coat evenly. Pat dry and wait 10 min. Good as new. Hope this helps!

    Tint school?

I’m old school...I can teach you to tint efficiency and teach you on almost every style...as far as business goes...I built a million dollar business but I did it in time which mean it took me over 8yrs for my business to gross over a million a year in sale...I Used up alot of my time learning because there was rarely anyone to teach me and made many mistakes...looking back, I wish someone was there to teach me all the tips and tricks...but I had to learn it the hard way.....I don’t just teach anyone, in-fact I turn alot of guys down due to being new, mobile, not being properly equipped....

    New Llumar IRX

I got a heat box from @Midtown Houston and put 35% samples of ATC, CTX and IRX in it. The drop in felt heat between ATC and CTX is honestly incredible to me. The drop from CTX to IRX isn't nearly as drastic but you can still tell a difference. It has already swayed a few customers for me and has me fully convinced that when mine gets redone it will be getting IRX.
