What Film do Tint Pros Use on Their Own Cars?

44 posts in this topic

I'd be interested to know what film most professional tinters prefer to use on their own cars. Performance is somewhat subjective but I'd assume the film that's best for margin and customer satisfaction isn't necessarily the best performing film.

What do you guys use on your own cars?

i change it up here and there. right now i have johnson sp 5% on my truck with suntek ulv 50 on the front glass. on my car i have suntek carbon 55/35/20% with a 5% visor. i dont like the way the johnsons looks with that greenish look, but it works well, and i had alot laying around...my truck i just got rid of had huper optic energy saver ceramic 35% all around. that worked really well.

I have yet to own a vehicle for less then 24 hours and not tint it.

Second, as for film. I prefer Llumar ATC/ATR. But have used Suntek and Global and been just as happy.

thats usually what i use samples on ...

Ditto, whatever new stuff I can get to test out. Right now I have Suntek Carbon XP on one and Llumar ATC on the other. I'm testing the ATC for fading or discoloring since they claim it's color stable. So far it has been on for about 18-19 months with no noticeable change.
