I messed up

Recommended Posts

So I bought a car, it previously had cheap tint. It was blue, bubbly, nasty...So I scraped it...Including the rear. Long story short, I cleared the defrost lines off...And then retinted it. My question is can I install new defrost lines ON TOP of the new tint? And if not, what could I do to defrost my windows in the coming winter months?

Your title says it all.  Yep, you are screwed.   Defrosters are electric.  They run current through those lines that you removed.  The only way to fix it is to replace the glass with proper defroster lines still on the glass.

Sorry, but it looks like you are scraping ice this winter.  :console

My GF's kid uses the item in the link below, the front defogger has some issue that makes it continually not work no matter how much it gets fixed, so this was the solution for a few years now, not this particular model in the link but similar-
