Attention everyone. The 2011 Audi A4 has the same setup as the A5 with the amp in the trunk area. As we found out the hard way, water will travel down and destroy the amp. You have been warned.

I just did another A5... this time I popped up the rear deck to see what we are up against...I covered the amp with a towel and plastic and on top of that I put tissue paper on top of the plastic to see if it gets wet... under the rear deck they have a inverted sub woofer and tweeters...so I removed the sub and tweets and went on with the install of the tint ...I soaked the hell out of the rear glass 2 times trying to get the amp wet but no such luck the water does not go down to it not even one drip on the tissue paper ...so in my conclusion the inverted sub has to soak up the water or it goes into the voice coil because it is facing upward and it has to short out the am…

Be extra cautious. What appears to be an easy $ is just an illusion. These have one piece gaskets, felt and suede everywhere. On the 08 A8L the regulator cable and metal end actually touch glass causing vertical streaks, or tearing of tint. The doors have these cute little Audi emblems that shine on the ground at night. Rip the tiny wires out of that red connector and your done. I will call in sick next time. The owners are usually picky as hell. Their mad bc they didn't have the $ for that Benz. Can't even afford Audi or the $200 for window tint. So they settle for An 08 POS!

So the local dealer brings me a car 2 weeks ago for a well known race car driver. 2012 A7. Tinted it. Salesman came and picked it up. Everything was okay. One week later I get a call from the salesman that service says the "Amp is fried because of water that got into the amp while it was getting tinted". Salesman told me the radio was working fine when he picked it up. Service claims there is a Technical Service Bulletin on this model. ( I couldn't find one for the 2012 model year). Anyway, the Friday the salesman picked up the car we got hammered in Indiana with rain and tornadoes, then the following Monday the salesman calls me and says the amp is blown. Yeh, r…

I have a customer asking me if we were to tint the back window would it affect the ability of the car to auto shade his rearview and side mirrors when someone with brights is driving behind him? Any ideas on if it would or not? Thanks from Regina Saskatchewan!

Hi, I have a 2018 Audi A4, Black, FWD, B9. I'm thinking of getting all the windows tinted: Front Windshield, 4 Car Windows, and Rear Window. I'm stuck on choosing between 5% or 10% or 15% for the back 5 windows and 50% or 70% for the Front Windshield. I want it pretty dark, but I still want to have decent enough vision at night time. I drive a lot both during the day and night equally and I'm the only one driving the car. Also, would it be weird if I did the front 2 car window tints a different percent like 15% so it is easier for me to see at night. And then do 5% back 3 windows? Or should I keep it the same percent all around the same https://100001.onl/?

Is the latest model particularly hard to remove the door trims? I have a potential customer who has had one tinting service abort mission due to being unable to remove trims. I've never had any issues with previous model Q7 but have yet to lay eyes on the 2020 variant. Cheers.

Guys if you remove these Audi third brake lights, make sure that you have some Q-tips and some WD-40. Spray the tips of the Q-tip and wipe down the metal clips in the brake light and wipe down the metal mounts that it slides onto. This will make your re-install SO MUCH EASIER. Your Welcome.

I did a clear bra on this car last week. It is coming back Tuesday for tint. I had a chance to check it out while it was here. I can't see a way to remove the headrests. Am I missing something? Does not look like the seats fold down either. If not, that's going to be one hell of a tight one getting the film in. Also any tips on door panel removal? Needs felt. Thanks fellas.

This is how you remove the sweep for an 2018 Audi Q5. - Get a ply tool and remove the panel right below and next to the door handle. You must remove it first from the lock/unlock button. - Pull the panel toward the front of the door to remove it....If you try to pull it out, it will break. - There are 2 toque screw that need to be remove and you are done.

Anything to look out for on these? Do they have the amp problem that many other audi's have, do they have felt on the door seals? Thanks for any help you can give

Normally I just do the two front doors on these and the seals are tight. I did remove the door panel once but its a pain. The door handle has a plastic that is super tight to remove and you always crack it a little on the back side. Too many ridges that hold it together. Plus the door panel is heavy. I have to use three bungee cords to hold the panel. This new method, well not exactly new but in my bag of tricks. Remove the trim piece by popping it out and sliding it towards the front exposing two torx bolts. Pop the top of the panel towards the rear and remove the sweep. Now install is cake with bomb drop method. Putting the sweep back in remember to spray some slip on t…

I got my hands on one yesterday. I like to pull panels, but the back doors have power shades so I can't comment there as I didn't want to break anything. Tight seals but not terrible to top load. The front have 4 screws, 2 behind the wood trim, 1 behind the speaker grill, 1 under the arm rest. T25. The wood trim comes out pretty easy, I started at the front with a chizzler and worked my way to the back. Look out for the metal clips in the door panel coming out with the trim. Didn't seem too be any weird twisting needed pull the trim as with other models. The speaker grill came out easy. Luckily, they have switched to the metal pin clips so less chance of brea…

Nothing like getting a new challege after 3 pm! I've been bottom loading since the beginning so I got a little crazy (or stupid) with this one. One piece seals, like the A8. The panels come off pretty easy, as do the plastic seal covers around the sides and top. Start working the wood trim from the front, be careful it feels pretty brittle. Its got some little tabs that have to be wiggled a little and then twisted out because of a large tab in the back. On the front there is 1 T25 behind the trim, one behind the speaker grill, and one under the armrest. On the rear, 2 T25 under the trim, one under the armrest. The plastic along the sides and top just pulls off with a litt…

This is for the current 2018 S5 & A5. Door panel removal is same as most Audi two t25 bolts behind door handle trim and one below the window switch. This car is not easy. Quarter windows are recessed pita. cover the electronics in the quarter panel they do get wet. Door panel removal for felt. Definitely charge for this one.

I just got my Audi R8 tinted with 3M Crystalline- 40% on the two front doors and 20% on the side quarter windows and the rear window that separates the passengers to the engine bay. Its the small rear window and NOT the large engine bay window. Is it safe to tint this rear window, as my tinter is concerned that it my get too hot due to the engine area.

I have a brand new 2018 Audi S5. I've now had to replace the tint on my car twice already due to long vertical scratches on the tint. The explanation the dealership gave me this afternoon after investigating is that the seal tolerance on the 2018 Audi S5 is so tight that tint is easily scratched. Is there a tint out there not as susceptible to scratching?? There must be a solution. HELP!! TIA

Here's a tip for Audi that get scratched from your olfa during removal of tint from the side windows. Roll the window all the way down and heat the gasket then take a towel and rub it until it's smooth. It'll look like you were never there.

The new 2018 Audi A5 sport back is like a mini version of the A7. Removal of door panels are required for felt. The warning is on the rear doors. The door harness has one short blue wire that if you drop the door panel will dislodge it from its connector in the door module. To repair you'll have to completely remove the door panel and the connector to get the pin out and re crimp or soilder it. If I remember correctly it's a five pin connector and the blue wire is the only one in that plug at pin #1. This wire is for Audi side assist. If it's dislodged and you turn on the ignition it will throw a check engine light that'll have to be cleared after repair.

Had client ask to tint rear hatch on R8 for the first time. I know there is extreme temperatures in that motor compartment. I was concerned about long term film durability. I stock Wincos, CXP and Rayno 5.

Three T25 bolts one beneath door panel one below door handle. There's no need to remove anything for the first two bolts. The last is the carbon fiber trim piece with the seat memory buttons. Use a plastic tool pop starting from the forward most point because it has a hook towards the rear. This car also needs felt. I seriously don't know what's going on with the Audi engineers when they made these nice cars without felt. Most of the lower end cars have it.

Two t25 bolts behind the plastic trim around the door handle. One t25 bolt behind the speaker grille. 3 bolts total and the door panel pops off. This car needs felt. Other then that this car is cake. Don't let the sticker price scare you. Rear window is small and easy. Now for the spyder model the rear window can pop up higher then normal when the top is down. It's called cleaning mode. You can find the info in the owner manual. I forgot but once the top is down hold the window button for a few seconds longer to get it to pop up.

I've done quite a few Audis, I always pull panels and the clips usually break luckily they are about a buck a piece. And from other people's misfortune I always cover up the amp in trunk with a bag and stuff with towels, however this is my first brand new s6. The clips are different than previous years, so I'm slowly figuring that out. My question is, has anyone done one of these? The back window was an easy heat shrink just can't figure out the high mount brake light? It is mounted under the headliner. Also the rear panels have a carbon fiber panel around door panels that pop up with 2 torx bits. Then another torx beneath the door pull and the panel popped off. I was on…

Just had an A5 "sportback" book in - hatchback version of the saloon. Anyone happen to know if the window is standard Audi A5 size, or if I need larger than my 30" rolls to cover it? - can't tell for sure from internet pics and he's out of the country at the moment, so can't give me measurements to check. Much appreciated if anyone has had one in before.

Any help on removing these door panels? Or tips and tricks to do this car? I've tinted about 500 cars but only one of them have been an Audi and I didn't remove the panels but it was a pita. Also, is it worth trying to remove these brake lights? I've heard they are really easy to break
