I may not have dug deep enough but I'm having some trouble with this car. Towards the front of the door is about 3 inches with very limited access to close light gaps. Does anyone know an easier way to go about doing these back doors with the privacy screens?

I've never seen a door panel come apart like this one in 20+ years of car audio and window tint. Crazy! The usual plastic/aluminum trim pops off but it's held in with a plastic set pin. Pictures show what's up. You'll need a short-ish straight pic to push up on the pin from underneath. After that it's just a regular BMW door removal.

Back doors seals come out like previous models, rear roll ups are shifty 3/8 in or so. Recommend just pulling tweeters on front doors and top load (half peel) unless you wanna pull whole panel. Trim is attached to panel. Doors come apart like a 3 series if you wanna pull em. 2 screws behind leather wrapped door pull. All and all I think they're easier.

I need some help with panel removal. I looked at the post about the 15 740i but this seems different. No way to (for me) to tint it without pulling the panel as it has the sunshade in the rear doors. Any help would be appreciated.

This ones a tough one! Here's a little info for the panel pullers. This one sux cuz the gaskets are one piece all the way around the window (I've seen this on the older LS430 Lex which is even worse cuz the gasket is riveted in, 06ish I think it was). The back part of the gasket is barely atatched to the rest of the gasket by a tiny piece so I cut it and just let it hang over. This is for the back door removal. Fronts are the same with the exception of an extra torx & the tweeter. Here's the front door gasket. After I put the gasket back in- 35% all around-

I just worked on a brand new BMW 330i 2006 and removed the front door panels. Some people have posted on here that you can remove the felt pieces from the top of the door panels w/o removing the door panel. This may be true since they do just slide straight up and out. I did not try this because they are recessed below the door panel and I didn't want to damage the door panel trying to pry them loose. Removing the door panels on this car is really easy so I would suggest just taking them off and then removing the felt pieces. On the passenger's door you need to remove the fake plastic wood trim that runs front to back on the door. Start at the front prying the piece stra…

Hello, Has anyone installed Huper Optik Ceramic tint on a BMW with Comfort Access? I found a couple of older (<2012) post on forums where owners are complained that it interfered with the Comfort Access? I also found one where the owner had Huper Optik Select Drei installed without any issues.

Just a heads up on these cars. They have lithium Ion battery's. If the battery dies it can not be jumped/charged with a normal charger/jump box. It will ruin the battery. It can be over a grand to replace. We had to have someone from BMW come charge it with a $1500 charger to get it started.

I need help on this one guys. Anyone done this car? I had this car come in last Saturday. The back windows were a piece of cake but the front ones were another story. These have the frameless windows that pop up & down after opening & closing the door. I noticed the seal in the corner next to the mirror was extremely tight. Had to redo it multiple times because it peeled/curled up after opening the door. One of the main problems was when I go to slide the tint into the corner and if the tint bends even just a bit, its game over. Can't get it to stay after that. Can anyone tell me how they get this done? I did get the drivers side in successfully (after several…

I have a 2013 x5 in a few weeks and want to plan ahead. I noticed the side gaskets are large as hell and to me it looks like the plastic piece that goes around the inside window pops off. Please help a fellow tinter that has not done a bmw. I found how to remove the door panel on youtube to pull the sweep but nothing states this.

This is pretty easy car to remove the sweep.....I know I put the title as door panel removal...but you don't need to remove the door panel on this car to remove the sweep. Toward the front of the chrome trim is a space that you can put 2-3 finger and pop it out with your finger. This chrome piece can be wood trim or what ever color trim depending on the upgrade. Pop it off and pull toward the front of the car due to a hook toward the back of the trim piece. If you don't do that, the back part of the trim can break and you will need to buy a new trim piece. There is only 1 torx screw to remove and top door panel pop off....remove sweep and do your magic...

2015 BMW 740i I don't know which is more work, the 740i or the 750 Reason I say is because on the 750 you don't need to remove the whole panel just the gasket after slicing it, on the other hand it has that massive channel. The 740i however does not have that massive channel, but have to remove the whole panel Anyways, overall this is not too difficult of a vehicle to tint. Patience is a virtue. The key to this is removing the gasket, makes the job so much easier as any car IMO. These gaskets however are one piece meaning they connect all the way around the door frame. You will have to carefully slice the corners in order to pull these bad boys out. …

Hello there, I am an end user who wants my car tinted. I am not a tinter. I am buying 3M Crystalline CR50 from a remote dealer (no local dealer for) so before I place my order I would like some help. First of all, can I do cuts like this (its a 60" roll): Note that front and rear windshield goes in the direction of the rolling but lateral windows are 90 degress rotated. Second, the sheet I'm buying is 60" x 98". It should suffice by my calculations. Any ideas ? Thank you.

Hi everyone, Just a heads up on the new 228i. I did one today and back glass scratched badly from olfa blade. I'm not sure if the back glass is super soft or what, but I have never seen back glass scratch so easily. Use extreme caution! Back glass is dealer only and cost me some serious coin. Buying a plotter this week to try and avoid this from happening again.

Hi guys, tried a search but doesn't seem to work very well... Had a customer enquiring about having their 5 series estate tinted - I'm new to the tinting world but have a good grasp of the techniques now and am not afraid to pull a few panels if needed, had an S4 Avant in last weekend and it was a nightmare though.... Do the wagons still have the same dot matrix issues as the coupes do? Also, are the upper and lower door seals as tight as they are on the big Audi, because that was a killer for me! Thanks in advanced, Nikos.

Any experience with new (2015) bmw m3/m4 models?

General question regarding tint application to new M3/M4 models from BMW... Anyone one have a strong opinion regarding these upper level vendor products: Suntek CXP, F1 Pinnacle, 3M crystalline? These BMW customers tend to be very picky. I am curious about ease of application, heat transmission, durability, and warranty support from the companies. I don't want a customer coming back with issues that I can not support if the company will not reimburse me for quality control issues. Thanks ahead of time.
