Just thought I'd throw this out there. Did the above mentioned Tahoe front roll downs with the window stating the usual "min 70% VTL" Metered it beforehand and got a 75% after the Suntek 30% HP metered at 27% short of legal, doh! Mathmetically all things being perfect should have netted a 22.5% which is close to the rear windows. Anyways my thinking is it would be a good idea to start thread of a specific vehicle/film used and net results. So those who don't have a meter or just want to know ahead of time or get just get an idea. Any thoughts? Please don't let this turn into a flaming off topic thread. It's a thought because the math and the variables do not alway…

Has anybody done one of these yet? Have one coming this weekend. Assuming it's like the new Impala, easy to pull door panels and flat back window.

thank you for finally making a corvette back glass manageable. Aside for the gradient dot matrix. which is actually mini corvette logos. back glass is flat and quick. side windows are the same as previous. now more shrinking done on side than back.

Chevy rollups in general...

These Chevy/GM roll-ups in general. Why do they shift so bad? I always leave extra material and straight-edge to get a nice clean line tucked all the way into the taped felt trim. But I did a Venture today, and like most mid-early 2000 GM's I have done, this one had 1-full inch of play in the window. I'm not too keen on Fords, either, but I seldom see this issue much on them. Everything 2007-up, awesome, easy peesy. Minus this recall, I'm glad GM stepped it up.

I have a customer wanting a 2004 Corvette tinted and it has a smaller back window that I thought most of the 'vettes had. Any tips on this one? I use Llumar ATC films, is one piece doable on this car? Thanks.

Plannning on stripping and re tinting my vette. Searched but couldn't the best shape to anchor door glass or rear glass to shrink it. I read a post here of someone using an H pattern foor the door glass and U for the back glass. Any tips from someone who personally done one would be appreciated. Car is completely bizzare to me with such curved glass. It is my car so I have plenty of time to mess with it. thanks

Tinted one today! Had to hand cut it but it was very straight forward! Easy tint job. The half of the back window dots was not a problem. Took no extra time or effort like some cars with dots.

I don't know if this has been pointed out, but I thought I would share. I was stripping one of these body styles the other day and got glue in the felt. While I was cleaning it up, I found that the felt can be tucked back under the door panel. I thought it might have been a fluke, so I have done about 5 more since then. The felt tucks very nicely (front and rear) and is super easy to pop back out. I know it sure makes doing these trucks easier.

Easy car, seals pull around doors Rear brake light is embedded in the deck but can easily gotten behind may take the place of the easiest 4 door car on the market to tint besides the G6

Just tinted the back window and realized within 10 seconds of squeegiing it that I need to shift it down 1/8". When I peeled it off, half of the defroster came off with it. WITHIN 10 SECONDS OF SQUEEGIING! I've never heard of this problem on these trucks. Anybody else had a similar problem? At first glance, I see no other post relating to this for these trucks.

Is anyone having problems with these? A few of them I have tinted have started acting crazy. Bad enough to have them warrantied. I pull the top of the panel back and remove the seals.

Do you guys pull the rubber seals that surround these roll ups? They're similar to the seals on the impala, which I always pull, but with these removed the window top edge would have nothing to go inside when rolled up. I ended up leaving them in just to be safe.

Have one coming in on Monday. Haven't done any 70s models before. Some late 60's, 80's and newer only. Anyone have any advice for me on this car? Back glass looks like it could go either way.

Piece of cake....for you panel pullers t20 screw behind the door latch handle and one in the door pull pocket. Panels pop right off and yep.... BAM...smack some tint and your done....quarters I just lightly trimmed the front edge of the seal and the brake light slides out once you remove two t15 screws from directly beneath the brake light from inside the truck area. Not a bad car altogether.

I have done a few of these new 4 doors now, it seems like they are getting very popular. Gm has went back to the old style felt covered window seals. Does anyone have any particular methods of prep to deal better with the felt. I always do a multiple squeegee prep before applying. Back in the day of the cavalier I would use 2 inch masking tape and tape up the seals. I haven't been 100 percent happy with some of the doors lately. Any input would be awesome, I know this car has to be a big producer for everyone.

I know there are several chevy trucks and SUVs that are like this but just curious as to how others cut them. For some reason, I am never happy with the back edge where it rounds off and then goes at an angle to the back edge. Here is my process so correct me if I am wrong. 1) With window up all the way, cut back edge from top to bottom starting just below the curved corner. 2) Pull tint slightly across horizontal plane, cut front edge. 3) Roll window down, cut top edge. But when I get to the back edge curve, there is a large gap at the bacl edge due to the way I am cutting this pattern and the way the window moves I know there must be a better way and I don't see …

Pulling Door rubber on 2009 Impala

Ok I'm new to the forum. Back ground first I tinted cars back in 1991 to 1994. Back when I started the people I worked for we didn't take any items of the cars or did any shrinking, back windows where cut to match defroster lines. Started tinting again just on the side for extra cash. I have learned lots from this forum and other places. got down the dry shrinking back windows and more. I work in a county jail so I've mainly be tinting just local police vehicles. Ok now with my question for help. I did a 2009 Impala not happy with the doors. I've seen on here you guys talk about pulling the door rubbers. My question do you also pull the door panels or other items to get…

It's a small window but hard to cut out from the outside because of the convertible material. So I cut it big and tried cutting from the inside but kept getting contamination. Thought it was going to be an easy job but I was wrong lol. Any tricks to do these? I'm debating ordering pre cut film thinking that may help? Any ideas?

I know there are posts about this. Actually alot of posts. I've done a 99 vette dry shrink without any problems but for some reason I cannot tint this 06 for the life of me. Do you guys wet shrink or dry shrink? Dryer sheet or soap haze? Any help would be appreciated time is running out and I need to get this done for the customer. I'm using Suntek standard 20%. I also noticed when I dry shrink it the tint doesn't hover like it should so I put some baby powder between the glass and the film and all it did was make my shop smell like a kindercare. HELP!
