Alright, Here is the low down. There are retainer pins on the outside of the panels, remove this and you can pull back and snatch the seal out, and then remove the seal around the window to stare at the whole piece of glass. The front windows are laminated so, watch the heat. The quarter windows back matrix on all sides except the side up against the rear window as is with most cars. Lots of room on the small windows for excess film. The rear glass is almost flat, the deck however does come up about 1.5" above the bottom matrix, this can be solved with a bulldozer. There is some foam along the bottom of the glass, I just pushed it down a little with the bull dozer…

Got a 2010 Vette GS coming in today, not worried about doors, I use soap method to shrink the film, what is the best way to anchor these as I seen someone memtion a U instead of an H? The last Vette I did, was a 98 and I put a horizontal across glass, then along the bottom on the sides like an H and think that may been part of the problem. Also, do the dots need to be sanded or anything up top?

I am doing a 2000 Impala today and have the car sitting inside right now while I work another, but the mirror on the front doors is tighter than I have encountered previously so how can I make sure I cut this window properly without ending up short on the frontside?

I had to do a 97 camaro convertible today for the first time. I've seen these with tint in the past, and they always look like sh**. So I did my best, and it turned out ok. The main problem I was having was with the fabric border. I cut the defrost plugs on the outside and cut the border on the inside. Everything looks great so far, then I apply it, and it's a little too big in some areas. I was like WTF !!! Also, the tint was a pain to lay down near the defrost plug. I think it was a combination of the rectangle I cut for the plug and the huge defrost line it was mounted on. Any advice on cutting patterns for these things without getting any light what so ever? …

Anybody on here that can identify what model range this Corvette fits into? If memory serves me correct this was an 05-06 but I am not for sure. And how does it compare in shrink difficultly to an 2011 Corvette coupe?

Just finished a 4 dr cobalt earlier today, but when I was finishing the bg I noticed that the locks were unlcoking and locking evey few seconds or so. I did spray the dr door down and noticedthe switch had been wet. Pulled the switch out and triedto dry it as much as possible efore the customer came to pick up their vehicle. Anyone else run into mysterious locking issues on cobalts or chevy in general. I did a search and couldn't find anything, however on other cobalt forums it is a comon problem when the swtich on the driver master goes out it will show the same symptoms. Am waiting for it to dry or forking out the change on a new lock switch? Should I have pulled the pa…

So I decided to tackle this for my friends dad this evening, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I need just a little help as I was not happy with the full result. I used the soap method, layed down the film and made a horizontal anchor across and began shrinking the bottom, It became difficult for me in the last few inches and I ended up with some small creases and so I thought no biggie, shrunk the top really easy, and then cut off the bad bottom and slid film down to bottom of glass. I got it all shrunk in one-piece and when I went to apply it, maybe I did not have enough slip, but I ended up making some creases when squeegeeing it. So I am asking for s…

Glad thats over! 1st Try: H-Pattern, got bottom shrunk well, top I creased it in the dot matrix so said f it and cut it to the bottom of matrix. 2nd Try: Tried TD's method of the angle out to the corner anchoring method, definitely helped on bottom, still had issue with the top but got it done anyway. Still had to cut off the matrix area since he decided midway through he wanted to Dotrix it.

The 2009 Malibu's are a CAKEWALK. Rear Window is piece of cake, easy to get behind 3rd brake light. No need to pull the rubbers on any of the doors. Just soak the bottom and use a ez reach to slide the film in!

I have to say this is the oldest burban I have ever had anyone ask me to tint. I have done ton's of trucks of this body style, but this dam thing barely fit in my shop. Looks like it was done back in th 90's. A guy I do older cars for traded for it last week. Atleast when it was built they did replace the gasket's making my job look alot better then some with original gasket's I have done in the past.

Is it me or does everyone complain about the dots on the top of the vette back windows. I did one yesterday for a guy that works at a dealership I do and so it was super cheap. I don't think anyone would touch a vette for what I charged him. Anyway it came out titts! super clean, filed edges and the dots look like every other vette on the planet. They aren't even that bad, they are pretty uniform. This guy wants me to strip the whole car cuz of the dots..really?

I saw a Volt on the road and noticed that it has dots on the rear glass. What suprised me was that the dots went halfway down the rear glass. I have not tinted one but I thought I would just put the heads up out. I know that they are only being released in certain areas and D.C. is one.

Have one to do next Thursday, and the custy wants to know if the top can be tinted or not. I told him there is a slim chance it can be done, because to the best of my knowledge it isn't glass on those cars. Told him I would look at it when he comes in though. Am I correct in my thinking, of them not being glass? I know this is in the wrong area, I just need a little exposure with this question, after an hour or so feel free to move it into the makes and models section TD. I appreciate it, if you let it stay in this area at all though!

ive been having this issue with both the challenger and camaro. the drivers door peels around the back bottom corner where the rubber presses really hard on the tint. the summer is usually fine and i dont have any problems but now with this cold ive had quite a few of these peel. i have the customer leave the car all day so they have time to dry along with heating the bottom edge. ive had quite a few that have never had a problem but lately i dont know what to do. how far into the seal do you guys tuck the film?? im using basic black on a lot of these. its not what i want to use but i work at a place where i dont really get to decide that. i haven't had too much of an is…

I have an 85 Iroc in the shop. Are they different than the 91' mentioned in a previous post? Looking for some advice. Tried to dry shrink, the bottom corners get to tight and pull the sides up. Should I leave the bottom with no shrink and move fingers to top, then shrink the top? there are no defroster lines so I want to do 1 piece. frustrated!

I read other tips on this vette and it seems alot of you guys perfer to 3 piece it. I would like to do a one piece, but I think i would have to remove the shocks and don't want to, since it so old. Can anyone tell me where exaclty you trim for the 3 piece and if i did do it in 1 piece, how would I anchor it and whould it be a dry shrink or wet shrink. Thanks guys Oh yea forgot to mention, Ive never done any vette...

Whats everyone's take on this ride,I've never done one of these before. I've done a bunch of the car that replaced this (the Impala) so is it similar to that. Do you need to pull the rear deck to get behind the brake light, and does it have the door gaskets that pull out like other GM cars. Thanks everyone! oh and what about the rear quarters is there a black border.

Is it normal to have a silverish vertical line on the left and right sides of these where the tint overlaps that little black edge on the inside of the window?
