Anybody having issues with peanuts on defrost lines on newer dodge chrysler vehicles? I did a 15 charger last week and they formed right away, couldn't get them to go down completely they were only here and there and the customer had to leave and was going to bring car back but has not yet... I personally bought a 15 300s yesterday and I have 5-6 peanuts on defroster lines also...I believe they will just push out in a few days but how do I prevent this from even happeneing to begin with or once tint is applied and they form how can I get rid of them? I'd post pics but my wife took the car to work this am.

Got one of these left in the unit for tomorrow, 22 inch rims etc looks nice! Right I have had a read up and you guys say the seals come out easy without door card removal. I normally pull the panals but will leave them if its easy. Quick heads up how do they pull out? I know with a MK4 golf one screw peel them back at the top and pull the strips etc. Whats the correct way with the 300 any screws to undo, top pulled away etc? Many thanks guys

I am tinting my first car, and I am noticing after I cut the tint to size, round out the corners, and start to lay it down, there are fingers on both the bottom of the window and the top. This wouldn't be an issue, but I am afraid to cause the top tint to shrivel since it is not attached to the glass. Is there any way to cause all the fingers to go to the bottom? I successfully got my back two windows done, but I had to take it extra slow to avoid shriveling the tint at the top.

Hey has anyone done a 2016 chrysler 200 yet? Anything like the previous models? Got one coming on Tuesday and just wondering what tips and tricks for this car. Thanks in advance for any help!

Tips for tinting the 2015 chrysler 200 1. remove bolt behind interior door handles and pull back on top of door panel, will allow access to remove sweeps. (easy) 2. (viewing from the back seat) rear brake light can be removed by lifting up under front lip, there are 3 clips holding front down, 2 slides at the back. There is a very short wire attached to left side of brake light, disconnect wire (for me this wire pulled of the assembly when i tried to pull it out, may have to work at it if this is not normal). When installing I needed to disassemble the unit (has two 15 torx screws), attach the wire then reassemble it using just the bit with my fingers (tight space). …

Anyone ever done one? One of our installers wanted to do his whole windhsield today in our free time, but it curves a lot around the sides so we end up with massive fingers that won't shrink... Any tips?

Like all Chryslers (worst cars to tint in my opinion because of the enormous side seals), the new 200 has upped the antie.... with even larger, hard plastic side seal on the roll ups. even tighter than the Darts I think.... Doing our 3rd one today, and was just wondering if anyone has any tips on the roll up as far an NOT crinkling the film on the side edges trying to wedge the film behind a 2 inch plastic seal... It would be awesome not to have to do each roll up 2 or 3 times on this car trying to get it to look like it should.... Any tips! Thanks

I just did one of these today. The car was pretty easy. Door panels pop back on the back edge with a little effort and the sweeps pull out. Fuzzy edges that are deep so tape up. Thing that sucked was I popped out the brake light and it came out pretty easily....plug was not long enough to even disconnect but it must not have been plugged in or not well as it just came off. I could NOT get it plugged back in without taking the deck out. Started to pull the deck but decided it was not worth the effort to deal with the air bags and all.... So, don't remove the brake light! It will push down pretty easily and could be done without removal (after I looked when do…

Has anyone noticed the matrix on the rear glass has changed from the 14 model? We did one the other day and customer brought it back...the matrix is on the bottom of the glass and looked splotchy. We haven't noticed this before with earlier models.

i tinted a chrysler 200 yesterday. the windows are just like the 2010 sebring except for a headliner 3rd brake light and one weird thing. the front two windows have (in big bold letters) "mopar secure shield laminated glass" written on them. all the rest of the windows are just plain mopar windows. anyone know what they are and why this is?? im guessing they are just UV protectant windows. is it just Chrysler being cheap? i have pictures if anyone wants me to post them too.

2011 Chrysler 300 - New Body Style

Tinted this new body style Chrysler 300 with ATC-40 this morning. Overall easy car to tint, gaskets don't come out unlike the old one, they also added quarter windows on this body style, but took away the third brake light. The windows are all shifty, so beware of that when cutting your patterns, and also the defroster wires are EXTREMELY thick, so have some steel wool ready. Other then that easy peezy, hope this info helps some of you guys

Howdy dudes. Had a walk in customer a few days ago. Today got the call he wants me to tint it. I think I'm getting confused as to what the vehicle is? I think it's a 300c? I do remember its a 4 door. Had the HEMI 6.4 badge on the front fender. Rear screen I remember had like half inch thick micro dots. Maybe it was a charger? Are the 300c, charger etc doors pretty easy to strip? Two big fully tattooed guys rocked up in it, so I don't want to stuff this up Any advice on either cars would be much appreciated! Cheers.

I thought I'd make a contribution about the 300c I did last night. pulled the panels off. two screws in the rear (behind the door latch and under a cover inside the armrest). one more screw on the front panels inside a little bumper toward the rear of the car and one plastic clip. no problem with doors. make sure you cut your tint large enough on the rollies because they shift. ran into some problems with the back glass. super thick defrosting lines that cause some peanuts and ugly finish on the line edges. picked up a little bit of dust putting the film in place. overall not pleased with the result I delivered. I think a car like that would be a good candidate for that…

My first PT. Got the back glass on the 1st try. Although not perfect. But nothing a custy would notice. Only my knit-picking during install. Anyway, I guess it depends on the film, but, when you think your shrink is done over that top edge (lift and pull method by the way,) hit that top with a white card and keep at it. Takes time, but the top will shrink. Even when you think it can't shrink anymore. Give it hell. Pull the gaskets on the roll downs. This one took me forever. But, the next one will be cake.

We tinted a 2012 300C here in Florida. It was a little cold out for here, (50's). The customer left about ten minutes after we tinted it and returned five minutes later with a shattered back glass. We don't really have pot holes here but I was wondering if just the temperature could do this.

So I did one of these yesterday morning and it sucked donkey balls (maybe cause I was hungover ). Backglass was easy, you can pull down on the brakelight and pop it out enough to push the water out if you want to cover the light. my problem was the pita front rolldowns, omg! huge side seals will crease the out of the film if you are one that tints the top half then the bottom half after rolling up..I pulled the side seal on the drivers side like I do on impalas and I would really not recommend this, took me 30-45 minutes to get the damn thing back in right.. Best way I found to do the front windows is pull the top panel back and pull the bottom seal, leave the side se…

2005 300c

Hey tinter's, I have a 2005 300c that needs stripped and re-tinted, I have read some others have said that when they remove the film on the rear glass the defroster lines come off ?? This is my first 300 surprisingly... Is this a common problem on this car, any tips on removing the film off the rear and be safe with the defroster lines? Or chances they will come off? If there is a high chance that it will jack up the defrosters I would rather not fool with it. The film has been on the car for 6 years now and color stable not sure what brand is on the car. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've asked this question before, but only got like 2 replies. I work for a chrysler dealer and do a lot of new 300s. When sliding the rear window tint into position, it's picking up bits of debris from the defrost lines. This doesn't always happen, but it happens a lot more than I would like. I'm just using a white scrubby and turbo squeegee for cleaning. I'm thinking about not scrubbing the lines as these are new cars. Obviously this can present it's own problems, but I'm thinking the scrubbing is causing the problem. I was thinking of no scrubbing and cleaning with a blue max. Any ideas? Thanks.

Installer scrubbied defrost lines with white scrubby pad and standard cleaning techniques. When he layed film up and started squeegie the water out he found dookey bits and defrost line debris everywhere Is this a known issue? Anyone have this happen to them? Here is a pic when he removed the film that was only on the glass for 1 minute

So I have one here now and I'm taking a break and smoking a much needed cigarette after this one lol. The back window wasnt too bad, the biggest pain was the high mount brakelight because its attached to the headliner but now I'm stuck on the sides, there really is no easy way to pull the bottom sweep is there? and the side seals are so tight I cant get the tint behind them even with tape and my red devil. Anybody that can help on this? I've never done a 4 door sebring either so even though they are practically the same, not doing me much good!

add this car to the list of cars that a hybrid or metalized film will mess with the am reception, fortunately the antenna`s are at the top, I was going to pull the whole film off and put dyed back on. I just cut down to the first defroster line and pulled the tint off, the reception instantly went back to normal. I just put vinyl back on at the top and it worked fine, it ended up being about a 4 inch area at the top that had to be removed, the vinyl saved me lots of work though. HAIL VINYL

Dont know if this has been mentioned: The rear roll ups on some of the 300c have an optical sensor in the switch. If you dont place your finger over the little green light, the window wont operate.

same as the older ones...2 screws, one behind the door handle, one under the arm rest...and the panel pops right off. I don't remember on the older ones, but the new '06 models have laminated side glass I also did a clearshield install on it...easy bumper, corners, and headlights, but for some damn reason the hood piece was alittle difficult for me. I've been sick so I'm not functuning within optimum parameters.
