Hello Everyone, I am a new plotter user. I purchased the GCC Jaguar V. I have used it 5 to 6 times so far but now when I use it I get a lot of shifting taking place when I am printing to the point where the PPF crumples up. I have the speed of the plotter at 6. Are there any tips on how to stop this from happing in the future. Thank you.

Looking for PPF cutting software
by Guest Rasar- 0 replies

we are the window film and PPF installer in Asia, and we are looking for the cutting software. However, there should not be any restriction for buying film or PPF. We don't mind to pay for the annual fee or monthly fee. Can you recommend us which one is good? Thank you in advance.

Good morning, I installed PPF and tint for about 5 years but I've been out of the game for a year. We just purchased a new Odyssey and I want to wrap the hood. Is anyone willing to sell me enough for the hood? I haven't measured the height yet so I'm not sure what I'll need to cover but I just wanted to inquire! Feel free to send me a text or email. 309-532-0783. I live in the Vegas area.

Hi I would like to buy a 50 ft roll of xpel, suntek or 3m at a reasonable price. Preferably 30 in or 36 in glossy to do my personal vehicles. I've been doing all my cars since 2008, so I have a little experience installing ppf. I just got ripped off $650 of fake bulk suntek ultra I bought online and I've been ripped off previously with fake film. I've tried buying from xpel suntek and 3m direct but they all said I need a dealer account. Only place legit is xpel direct and it's expensive by foot. I'm currently working on my Raptor. So far I've done the all the front in suntek matte ultra and xpel. I need at least 30 more feet to finish my truck. He…

Hi, I did my first matte ppf which was with xpel matte ppf. Everything went very well but after 2 week when I did a check up on the car everything looked fine but near the mirrors I noticed a little spot. The car had a factory matte paint. If that makes a diffrent.

is back rolling patterns or bulk hoods limit your possibility of getting less dust underneath the film than peeling it from a peel board?

This car is not for any intermediate installer...Car is very tricky and hood and bumper will kick your ass. The bumper is seam in so many places that client was not happy so we customized it to hide all the seam in the back. Client is also on the Supra forum so they are very educated on what is a quality install supposed to look like....Take your time and buy some time when this car come in is my advice.

wax before ppf? 1 2

I usually strip off the wax/glaze etc before starting applying PPF, but I read that some actually apply wax before starting. I guess this is to help during removal or something? Do people really do this?

Stretch marks, orang peel, lift lines.....

Hello, came across this forum while searching for solutions to some issues I encounter installing with Expel 9300. Almost all of these go away or occur less working with Ultimate but the default product at the company I'm with is 9300 therefore I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or tricks to working with this particular film. The environment I'm installing in isn't ideal either, I'm in a body shop where the guys are sanding and polishing all day so there is so much dust in the air making it hard to lay it without any dirt underneath, it's also very cold which makes the film harder to work with. My biggest problem is I'm getting a lot of stretch marks and when I lift t…

It's my pleasure to introduce another amazing ppf from the DYNO line. DYNOblack is a high gloss black ppf that is 8 mil thick, self healing, and hydrophobic. Check out the quick teaser video and inquire about pricing with michael@stek-usa.com. More innovations coming soon! Thank you Howard

I'm relatively new to installing PPF, and I'm about to take delivery of a Model 3. I'm wondering if anyone could help point out how I can install a single piece of PPF on the front bumper, and how I would need to cut near the fog lights (seen in the attached image in green) so I won't need to do inlays. Similar to this install.

Hi, What are some of the steps you take to make sure that the ppf will not lift off in the future. I do use heat gun to make sure that everything is heated well but sometime on the edges I would have lift off ppf. What can I do to prevent that from happening?

Hi, I'm looking for film install tips on fresh paint. I have a few body shop customers that need bumpers and hoods done after a few days of paint dry time. The biggest problem is broken adhesive marks that show up in darker colours, I generally add more soap to the slip solution and occasionally wax the areas where the film needs excessive stretch. 3M gel works ok but I still can get a few marks. Any helpful tips will be appreciated. I use 3M pro film, water with J&J baby shampoo slip solution, steamer when needed. thanks

Dear All, We are an Egyptian company and we are looking forward to enter the PPF market. Egyptian market is dominant by Xpel, kindly any advice which brand could compete with it. Please exclude 3M since they already have an agent in Egypt and after reading we are thinking of Oraguard, Hexis, CCL nano fusion, premium shield As you know how strong Xpel is, so from your experience which brand could have a similar quality and could compete with it? Many thanks for your help and support. Hesham kadry

Ppf maintenance?
by Guest Ben- 6 replies

So I have done maybe 7-8 ppf jobs... bumper, fender, hood, etc... I did my own hood aswell. I noticed a spot today where I'm assuming a large sized rock hit the ppf and ripped/tore it.... not fixable through self healing. I used llumar platinum. I'm not so much worried about mine, but what do I do if a customer brings a car back with a similar issue? That not a warranty r&r is it?

I had a custom xpel install on my 99 f350 lower doors of cab and cab corners. I got it back last night, and looked it over this morning and found the lower cab corner lifting and small bubbles on the lower doors. I contacted my install and he said they will level it out..? I didn’t have edges wrapped because the doors are filled with oil and it drips out sometimes. How should this be fixed properly? I will upload more pictures later.

Hi, My name is Joseph Lovero, I work at an Exotic Car Dealership in Naples Florida. We are starting to do our own inhouse Paint Protection. I am wondering if anyone out there has installed it on a Spyker C8 or has a template I can download to my program to cut. If i have to do my hand then I can cut it.

Has anyone got their hands on one yet? (to wrap) i had a buddy at another shop wrap just full front in gloss and says it was a nightmare. *i have to do it in matte the entire car* Customer picked it up today and just drove it straight to me from dealer 2020 Toyota Supra GR (White color). I now have to wrap it in XPEL Stealth. It looks pretty tough. I've done some crazy jobs so far. The hood is oversized, the front bumper looks like an alien for a ppf installer. *I do all installs by hand* 0 precuts. Just as a heads up.

Suntek's TruCut pattern software... 1 2 3
by Guest Invisibra.net- 20 replies

Ok, so I've been using Suntek's TruCut software to make a few kits over the last 45 days or so. First off, this seems to be one of the very best priced Kit cutting program out there. A $300 one time charge for the software itself, & then $50 a month from then on out. If you cut out 1 pattern a month, it's $50 a month. If you cut out 100 patterns, it's $50 a month. (You probably have to be a Suntek Film user, but I like their film, so no problem there) Since I do 90% custom installation still, I don't mind paying the $50 a month, even if I don't use the software. But, I've found that having it available is VERY nice. I have been more and more knocking out a pair…

I know absolutely nothing about protective films! I am looking to have a paint protection film put on the bumper of my 2016 Acura RDX. I understand that 3M makes a product called Scotchguard Pro and Xpel has Ultimate Plus. Is one better than the other and are there any other protective films that I should be inquiring about? Thanks, Anovice

Anyone tried to wrap the textured area on the rocker panels? looks like it will probably stick with steam. Just wondering if anyone has had a come back. Also, coming up short on patterns on front. (has the scoop in the hood) Anyone know of a place that will sell just a pattern or time on a program to cut this truck?

Guys, I saw some photos online today. Seems like Xpel has built its own manufacturer of PPF? Couldn't find any information online about it. Wonder if they will low the price of their PPF since they start manufacturing by themselves. Any comments?
