Ive just done a shop front, DN50 external fitted to laminated glass. Because of the width of the glass I used 4 equally cut pieces of film all off the same new roll. After receiveng a call from the cust, after the 90days adhering time, I return to find that at least 2 if not 3 of the pieces a?? appear to be different colours on the window. The window is not partly shaded or effected differently across the glass bu obstacles, so im a bit perplexed, cust not happy & facing full refund. Can anybody help?

hi everyone, probably don't remember me, but I used to be known as fort_slider, forgot my password, anyways a couple years back when I first wanted to learn to tint, I came to this site, this site got me on my way, no question was left unanswered, so I practiced and practiced, finally I got the balls to go to a shop and show him wut I had, he was impressed for someone with no training, he did a window in front of me and put me on one, I came out good enough to send out of the shop, took me forever but I goot it, eventually went on to back windows, I joined the air for a few months later and ended up in clovis new mexico, went around and found work at a shop called 'Sorar …

How rude of me to not introduce myself before posting evrywhere. This site has taught me much, and made me laugh, since I found it a few years back. I would not want to offend any of you who have helped raise many a tint slinger's IQ, including mine. I am a 36 yr old single dad. I have done custom car audio & electronics for 19 years. I have tinted full time for the last 5 or 6 years. I still do very high-end custom systems, but had enough of the noise, and ghetto traffic. So now my tinting is my main focus. I spend the time to dry shrink, 1 piece back windows. I push the roll-ups so close to the top edge that only the finest micro-edge is left. I even shrink roll-u…

I'm a big fan of the soap shrink technique , however I was beginning to feel ill after a couple of months into it and couldn't figure out why(I keep a clean and sanitized house and tint shop...didn't even dawn on me that it was part of the technique). Had some tests done and found out I was breathing in mold spores (couldn't figure out where ) till it dawned on me that they were on the black cloth I was using to spread the soap around on the back window. It had gotten moldy , but I didn't see the mold because it was a dark cloth , I threw the cloth out ,started using a new one and was feeling better within a few days . Bottom line: .. good idea to at least wash/replac…

I used to lay vinyl for a living and I love doing new things so I decided to tackle tinting my new rear window on my 02 acura rsx(recently had my car painted...the window has dot matrix all aroun the entire window for about 1" and about 6" on the top) anyway...I read a lot on here, got some supplies from a friend...and got my hands on 2 pre-cut pieces of solarguard 6%...... I used the soap mthod and heat shrunk the film...everything went fine, got it inside and everything was great....however...a lot of spots on the edges didnt want to lay down...I pushed and pushed and didnt know what else to do....form the outside I would see the small "fingers" and so I yanked the pi…

Hey guys - I just joined the forum I have zero experience and would like to learn, but my NO means even want to attempt my first job on my car right now, partially I think because my back glass is infamous for being a royal PITA even in tinting standards? I have a 2001 Trans Am and I am looking for a shop that does good work. I'm by no means trying to save money - I want the job done, and I want it done right the FIRST TIME lol!) I go to college right by atlantic city in Pomona but I live right near Princeton in central jersey - any reccomendations?

Hey everybody.......... my friend showed me this site a week ago, and goddamn am I glad. GREAT site. TintDude you da man bro. Lotta guys on this forum seem pretty cool too. Any way, I just started tinting my second car tonight. (95 Tauruas) First car was a 93 SPAM wagon. I used GILA and followed their instuctions. It was pretty ugly. Anyway, tonight, all I got done were the rear doors and the rear quater glass. I bought GILA again, cause its cheap and Im just practicing. (this car is destined for scrap heap soon) The only thing I seem to have a problem with is getting clean cuts for the roll down windows. Basically all I was doing was spraying down the outside…

Hello All just a quick question. I am getting a 06 dodge caravan for work and I do a lot of traveling with merchandise in my van. I work for a liquor distillary and would like to keep all expensive material hidden. The color will be a midnight blue with a gray interior. What percent window tint would you recommend for the fronts that would look good? The back windows are already glazed from the factory. Thanks TOM

Had my first one for the season. To be expected! Sixth sense about these guys.....lives in the country, books in yesterday, YP's enquiry. It didn't particularly worry me as I was pretty much fully booked and I was doing the guy a favour fitting him in. When I rang 2 hours after he said he would be coming in at a certain time, he forgot, didn't the wife ring, I'm helping with a cow birth that is breached. Tough titties if the tinter forgot hey? I don't know what these people thinking we are running these days with our businesses? Some sort of knock shop with swinging barn doors that everyone just comes and goes through? Devil

I know somewhere there is a thread about this, but I can't find it, so can someone help? (are they the same thing?) J/K

I've read on here that the winter months are the slowest of all. So, what do you guys do to stay afloat during these times. I've tinted part time for 3 years, so the winter months I don't tint at all. Just wondering if you all just sit and wait or do you all do other things????

A police officer pulled a guy over for speeding. Officer: May I see your drivers license? Driver: I dont have one. I had it suspended when I got my 5th DUI. Officer: May I see the owners card for this vehicle? Driver: Its not my car. I stole it. Officer: The car is stolen? Driver: Thats right. But come to think of it, I think I saw the owners card in the glove box when I was putting my gun in there. Officer: Theres a gun in the glove box? Driver: Yes sir. Thats where I put it after I shot and killed the woman who owns this car and stuffed her in the trunk. Officer: Theres a BODY in the TRUNK??? Driver: Yes, sir. Hearing this, the officer immediately …
