bad cuts, short doors, wrong curves 1 2

Recently came from tintek to precision cut, I've called in a few times in regards to bad plots, and basically was told its my fault. I'm getting lots of doors which are extremely short on both ends, forcing me to recut my doors and wasting tint, alot of back glasses are short on corners/edges. A lot of difficulty with 2014 jettas, front doors are cut awful, top edge does not line up at all, both ends are short, back glass ends up being short on corners... we have to older plotters, q42s both originally used with tintek, never had this severe of an issue, and getting very frustrating.

I adjust blade in holder bu cutting the sheet to make sure its not cutting the liner and cut just the tint sheet. I setup my speed 20 and force 18. I tried with less then force 18 and it dont cut the film but with 18 it cut the film but some area it cut the liner of tint film as well.. Please help if anyone have this plotter or know about setting. I am new with plotter

Precision cut was working great and all the sudden stopped dead in my trax on a busy Saturday. Luckily I can hand cut... The program opens and I can open any car and see, select and put the pattern on the cut table, but every time you try to plot it reads the error LPT1::The system cannot find the file specified.

...and not a tint on the schedule. So I got the shipment of my Precision cut FC8000 off the UPS truck, got it together, played with the software a bit. Nothing to tint though. Decide to strip and tint the shop van, went pretty smooth, cut with the wrong tip, but it was Greystone and it took it like a champ. Figured that out and about 4pm a guy shows up with a 2006 impreza, asked if we could do it today. Normally that would get a hell no, but I really wanted to try it out. Wasted a bit of tint figuring out setting the force, got it down, 4:30 me and my co-worker were pulling it out to dry. Literally start to finish 30 minutes, with some time spent re-cutting the rea…

New to Llumars PCS what are thoughts on this software? I’ve been a hand cutter for 18 years and love my works outcome but my volume and demand is increasing so figured I’d step up my game. So I just recently purchased a complete system from Llumar, I’m actually super embarrassed on the edges that the computer cuts and was seeing which software is more accurate in everyone elses opinion? I’m sure most customers could care less but I myself care what it looks like. Do I have to just except that these computer cut lines are garbage?

Been asking Precisioncut for a few features to add on there program 1-- On the page where you adjust the sunstrip have like a grid say 5" apart so you can measure the width off the sunstrip . 2- they need some basic commercial trucks like hino freightliner etc 3- on the rear doors put like a small bump on the bottom of the passenger door to easily tell the difference on those square doors. 4- Be able to make lettering arc into a sunstrip template. other PP users add there feature request . Lets all write an email asking them to add some of these features on .

Just a little heads up on something I've been watching since I own the car. The pattern that comes up for the 335is is not the "is" model but the standard 335i car.

I had a few templates missing and i would call llumar and abuse them . To find out it was my fault. I always down load the tint patch for new templates. But PC said once a month to delete the tint registry and do a fresh full install .That way you dont miss any new templates. Love the PC templates though very precise.

Precision Cut/ Jaguar IV HELP!
by Guest DarksideAutoSolutions- 5 replies

I received my jaguar IV and am using Precision cut. The guy from llumar set up precision cut today and by the time he was done it was after 5 so he told me the rest was easy and if I had any questions to go to the help section. Well every time I try to hit the plot button i get the message "etccomx Must be registered to open connection" I am using a usb to serial converter because that is what was sent with it. I attempted to use the usb 2 cord but with the generic printer selected under plotter setup, which i have to use because the gcc jaguar is not an option, I am unable to select usb. My computer that has the precisioncut software installed and activated does not have…

Adding paint protection to our list of services. Currently using ComputerCut for tint and looking at Precision Cut with the PPF software. I understand Llumar will be very competitively priced in the PPF area. Anyone use the Precision cut for both tint and ppf? Thanks, Phil

Need to know from experienced tinter, who have used both programs as to which is better and why?

Well recently we've been having some problems with the new tinttek. If I edit the pattern at all (because they suck so much to begin with), the point to point will not connect. Sometime if it's a big change the cut (at point) could be as much as 1/2" off, making for a ruined pattern that no longer works. Llumar sent us a demo of Precisioncut. The owner is very weary of installing new programs and wasting film. How do the two programs compare in: - Patterns Working - Abilty to Edit - Vastness of Patterns - Up to Date Updates I wish we could just get rid of the programs all together but I think the other tinters would start a mutiny. Thanks.

CP Films Precision Cut Plotter "Stay Away" 1 2 3

I just wat to get the word out and let you all know, I have had nothing but problems with is product. May be 50% of the time you will get a roll up window to fill like it should. Most of the time the micro edge is way off. I also have a problem with the plotter cutting a simple square. It only cuts 3 sides. I have called plenty of times and have gotten no where. " Just the run around" people SAVE your money and go somewhere else. Just venting! KC
