help with a roland cx-400

the problem is with the default speed between patterns? the cut speed is fine while cutting a pattern, but when I finishes one pattern it then goes way to fast to get to the next pattern. is there a setting or driver that will keep it at the same speed after its done cutting a pattern and going to the next?

I've been looking for a plotter/vinyl cutter for a fwe weeks now and I came across a Rolan ColorCAMM Pro PC600 locally; What is everyone's opinion on it? I CAN NOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO SLOW THIS PLOTTER DOWN. IT NEEDS TO BE CUTTING @ 20CM/S BUT IS SET FOR 30CM/S. I HAVE LOOKED ALL THROUGH THE OWNERS MANUAL AND CAN NOT RESOLVE THIS. ANY HELP WOULD BE WONDERFUL.

I have a Roland PC 600 Thermal ribbon printer/cutter New in box sorta ...just back for Atlanta roland repair. still in box with invoice I haven't even opened it sent down to freshen up head was showing wear so it was replaced. plotter is just like new.. I replaced it with a Roland versacamm so now I dont need it except for a backup machine..Great machine it is a 24" full color Thermal plotter cutter I will take 4500.00 for it with rcc program and I also have 15 or so new ribbons and alot of cartrages used for refills

Before I drop 30Gs into a printer I'm trying to find out some info other than what Roland is telling me. (You know their opion, best thing since sliced bread) Anyone have one, seen it in use or know of anyone? I saw it at SEMA last year and have been waiting, but I have too many people asking about printing now so I decided to take a plunge and buy a printer.

Hello... I have a small desktop plotter, roland sv8, it is 8" wide, but manual says it will only cut 39.7" long pieces...I have some store window pieces that will be 67"....according to this I will have to piece it together, which will be fine. Just wondering why these have length limits when rolls are very long? Thanks experts/.

I was told that with this setup that I could cut/print right from Corel 10 or Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Is this not true or am I just doing something wrong? I have tried to send things to the printer but It doesn't work. Is there a plug in or other software I need? The manual is based from Windows 3.1 so it's not much help. If anyone has a link to where I can read information on this, or has an answer, I SURE would appreciate it! Thanks

I have a chance to buy a 2001 PC-60. The seller says it's been serviced and the heads have been replaced recently. Has a stand and a bunch of ink he's gonna throw in. My question??? Does anyone have any experience or has anyone ever used this? Seems sufficient to start a small business with. So, I just took the plunge and bought a Roland Versa Cam 54. I got a good deal on it though, 18 grand plus it comes with 2 sets of inks and about 4 rolls of media. Anyways, for you guys out there with printers I was wondering where you can get some nice clean files from ready to print. Most of the stuff I'll be doing will be customer supplied. I use Brands of the World for plotting things, but do they have like nice *clean* stock images for printing? I was just really looking for some general stuff, maybe to print off for my show room. Just looking for some more resources basically. Thanks a bunch!!

Hello Guys. I'm a newey here but I've been working with Vinyl cutters for 10 years and I recently got FlexiSign 7.0 running on Windows XP and I don't manage to change the cutting speed as I did when I used illustrator or Corel. I'm using a Roland Camm1 CX24. When I used illustrator, in the print setup menu, I told the app to listen to the machine setting and in my Roland I choosed the different speeds. This doesn't seem to work in Flexi. it doesn't listen to the machine settings and I'm not beeing able to change the speed from the production manager window. Anyone??? Please help!!!! Thanks in advance

Since there is no limit of darkness on the top strip, I have wanted to tint it. But I would go very dark, to help with sun glare in the evening. -

Yeah that’s a very fair point to a degree I’m probably overthinking it. I don’t see really significant glare reduction until you get into much darker tint. Like you I think visibility for me is more important living in the country. I’ll probably see what the specs list the differences between 70% and 80% and then double check with the tinter as to what they recommend. Likely will end up with 70% with a strip along the top. Air80 seems to be much more popular, not sure if it’s due to performance or the difference in cost being so much more for the stratos. thank you -

Hey guys - so I work for a vinyl graphics company that is adding window tinting to their repertoire and I had a question about your guys' ideal process. I have my plotter set up and my window tinting software ready to go, but I am completely ignorant about the way that tint installers prefer that things be cut. Currently, I will plot/weed the tint and cut the backing away as much as I dare before handing it over to the installer. I was thinking that the installer would prefer the tint to be cut to shape which I believe I can achieve with the perf cut on my plotter. Is that the typical process or should I not be worried so much about it being cut to exact shape? -

Air80 vs Stratos70 Windshield
Im in TX, plenty of of what you mentioned. While I do sit higher in an SUV, glare reduction is not improved much at all with what I have. My 80% is almost clear, not dark at all. With all tint, it adds a bit of reflectivity from the outside, which I notice makes it slightly harder to see from the outside looking in, in the form of a glare not darkness. At the end of the day, it's not permanent, it's only money! -

Boat window tinting tips
The answer is to not heat that area too much so that you leave some slack in the film for when you get it to the inside. Also cut your pattern a little large so that you can trim a thread off the edges after shrinking to not have a furled edge. After you do a few of those you'll figure out how much to leave/trim to not have any light gaps. Also I'll leave a hardcard wrapped in a microfiber in the bottom overnight to collect water and keep pressure on the film while it dries. Sometimes you can take the top rail off the glass if the jackwagon boat builder didn't put too much pressure on the glass package when it was installed. If you pull the rail off of a tight package it's a pita to get back on, looking like it could crack the whole time. Congrats on getting it done. I've seen plenty that couldn't, which is why I price them like I do.- 1

Boat window tinting tips
Thx everyone for the tips the install went fine, however i did run into a new problem on the main curve of the glass from thr outside the tint would lay flat on the big curve but when applying it seemed like there was too much tension and it would not stay down i ended up heating it up and flattening down but some of that area got overheated and warped a little, if you know how to tackle this problem please help me thank you!- 2
