We have been using the Tint Tek software for several months now and it seems there are about as many bad patterns as there are good ones. In your experience do they ever respond and fix these patterns? Also why would they not be liable for wasted material and time? It's just a question as I am tired of guessing whether they will work or not when we could have just hand cut them and not wasted time and material. Curious as to what your experiences have been?

Now that you saw the word "free" I got your attention..now you'll have to read to see how. Ok so I've hand cut since the beginning of "tint time" and a couple of months ago I went with the Tint Tek 20/20 system. I'm a sole employee who has always hand cut and finally went automatic. I would be the least likely to benefit from the system and you could only benefit from it more if you were a busier shop with employees than myself. Most agree that if your a busy shop with 2 or more employees you will benefit..its a no brainer..more cars = more money. My discussion is for the self employed who hand cuts because it's a harder sell to want to go the plotter way. One …

It would be helpful if any TT V10 users can list cars that need some modifications, ie just did a 2012 Ford focus that rear glass is .20 too short horizontal. This would be helpful to many as I hate shrinking and preping one to find out its too small

I was wondering if there is a way to get the patterns for a plotter as needed, with out having to pay a monthly fee to a company and or some kind of membership . thanks.

Well everyone I got my vinyl express Q42 and my Tint Tek set up last night and put it to use today. So far I love it and it’s cutting awesome! I can easily weed the tint, it’s not cutting through the line side so that’s good, nice clean cuts. I did install the Tint Tek blade into the blue top holder and I’m unsure what “tool” option I need to use. Right now I have it on “other”, force is 14, speed is 15. Anyone have any idea if hats right or not? It sure if it matters at this point but like I said it’s cutting awesome. thank you!

Ok, I haven´t posted that much on the forum, but I need opinions and suggestions...I have used Tinttek for a couple of years and always thought things worked pretty well..not too many problems with patterns...however here lately it seems their quality control has gone way way down. Rear doors on 2017 GMC Yukon XL gapped at the bottom because the bottom edge is not straight. Windshield patterns hardly ever fit...2007-2015 Jeep Wrangler 4dr...mirror bracket hole is too far left, top is sloping to one side and bottom edge is about 2¨ too big. Anybody else with TintTek find that their sunstrip patterns are mediocre at best? Half the time I cut them, they suck. I wish I knew who designs a lot of their stuff, because clearly it's not an installer. I always hated sunstrips but with the plotter it was supposed to make them an easy add on, but they just enrage me pretty often

Anybody know if the program and computer are compatible or I need something with windows? Also wondering about a reliable small plotter for mainly cutting sides....vent visors have finally worn me down enough to consider using a plotter again. Sold my 40" DGI years back and don't miss the bulkiness of it but the convenience I do miss. Thanks. Also so don't know if a MacBook Pro has the plug in needed for most plotters??

I'm locked out of Tint Tek and it's not accepting my User name and password for some reason...Only reason I'm posting this is they are closed this weekend. When I load Tint Tek and bring it up it asks for "User" and I enter in everything I know and it wont take it. Below that there is a another frield that says User ID and it's a bunch of numbers and I can't edit that. Anyone had this problem and if so what did you do? I'm going to try and contact them tomorrow but it's the weekend.

Hi everyone, first thanks to the moderator ;) Second i have few questions about tint tek, i contact howard, he is the president of the buytint.com company, he helped to my so much, and now i need to buy the precut software. I dont have a lot of mony so i buy here in chile a Gcc plotter cut 24" for about $450.. that is the price in my country, and i get from buytint. A 24" x 100' rolls.. Can i use the 24 inch plotter with tint tek?? If i get tint tek the have the las cars patterns? Becouse for example i have to do one car and this one arent on the program, i can contact them and the give to me the pattern, good support? Im sorry my bad english but im spanish speaker…

So this morning tint tek was working perfect, this evening I went to open the software and it says could not load plugins... fsengrave.dll fsformat.dll fspreprod.dll fstintpaint.dll The software opens but I cannot slect any vehicles as that whole top bar does not show up! If anyone has a cell # for some anyone at tint tek please let me know asap! FYI, I am running the system on a mac in parallels and have had no issues...

Hi Guys. Just started using (trying to use) Tint Tek V10. Anybody out here in Las Vegas that can come by and give me some tutorial. I will gladly have company owner pay you for your time. I have been tinting for awhile I've always hand cut. Hi all, I have been tinting for a year now, and learnt to tint with the luxury of trying out tint tek with a graphtec plotter!!! However, since then, I have moved onto starting on my own and would like to purchase a system to cut vinyl and tint!!! The Tint Tek system was great, however, we had the problem that there werent many european cars on there like Peugeot, Citroen, and UK fords etc... Is there any other programs usable with more of these patterns and also I am looking to buy a plotter, if anyone has one for sale, please let me know!! Im lookinf for at least a 36" width plotter!!! Just wondering if anyone is going through the same I am with the new tint tek program . Ever since our switch to the new program, they must have sent us a total of 6 new program disk to install , uninstall , try this one this is it install , uninstall well I think we finally got it now install oh well after 5 times updates are still not working finally 30 days later we got them working now 3 months later all of a sudden today once again updates aren't working again but im the first one ya right. Just wondering if anyone is using the new software from tint tek. I installed it about a month ago and running across some alignment problems with the patterns. When the plotters cutting it out. Some of the cuts just don't connect correctly. I'm wondering if it's the plotter or the software any input would be great thanks. PS; the new software is called signlab 7.1

I'm interested in the Tint Tek 20/20 program. I have the Master XY 48" plotter. The Tint Tek website does not list this plotter as compatible. However, I was previously cutting vinyl with a Vinyl Express cutter using Signlab and a Roland driver.... So, my question is will a driver for a different brand of plotter run a Master XY? Any suggestions/tips/answers are GREATLY appreciated!! Mike Intints Window Tinting

Low angle haze
I've got the ceramic 70 in a heat/light cube with the ceramic 30, HP30 and clear glass. That stuff is amazing, especially when you can see it side by side. I suspect it's two layers of ceramic base films laminated together to meter at 70vlt. I hope they never change it. Thanks @Bham. Believe it or not I really enjoy educating the customers to find out what they really need and not try to oversell just to turn a buck. Most of my new clients come from older referrals and when they find me I keep em for years. For sure more people are catching on to the product name and I've yet to have a piece of HP or the ceramic fail that wasn't my own fault. It's nice to know I'm not paying for a bunch of marketing collateral and a butt kissing salesman to travel around pass out tshirts and coffee cups that's added into the cost of my roll stock. -

Im not that worried about brand recognition. Ive been getting work with Avery and its got little to no brand recognition as far as tint goes. I'm just looking for a good brand that I wont have an issue with. Avery is a fairly cheap option as far as Im aware, so I'm just getting ready to move into the big leagues with a more premium brand. Ive used STek's tint and I was pretty happy with the way it looked, shrank and the overall experience with customer service has been great too. I stopped using it because their specs feel like they are below par compared to the other premium brands. Specifically their TSER. Their NEX line seems to be compared to Xpel Prime XR Plus, but the specs were more on the line of Prime XR. Anyone know how that TSER number is calculated? Is it just a calculation combining light rejected, transmitted, reflected, etc? Looking into panaplex, autobahn, and global now. More specifically global because of recommendations.- 1

Low angle haze
I second the Global suggestion. If you can get past the color(khaki) of the 70% ceramic, it is the best performing film in their line. It has amazing heat rejection properties at a 70% film with very little low angle haze. I don't have anyone complain about it. If you install 50% on windshields then you will LOVE the Global 50% ceramic. One of the prettiest films i've dealt with and I would say "almost" zero low angle haze. It does not perform as well as the 70% in my opinion because they have almost the same "stats". @Dano Hang in there with the brand recognition. Just spit your knowledge and let them look it up if they want too. Global is my favorite of the "big 3" and the recognition is getting out there. -

Best place to learn window tint ppf
I am currently in the process of getting my detail business going in northern Alabama, and I feel that being able to add tint and ppf, would be a great addition and separate me from some other businesses. I have found a lot of these 2 day work shops, they range from 1 to 5 days, are any of them any good? I would assume the Xpel training etc would be quality, but I was hoping to find something a bit closer to home. I have no issue traveling but if I can find it here or like near Atlanta it would be a lot more convient. Any info on any of these class workshops would be appreciated, and if u got an idea I've overlooked. Let me know that as well,. Thx for the help fellas -

I've had good results with the Global so far. No minimum requirements but also not much brand recognition in my area. -

Basically, the technology that is blocking the heat is also creating the low-angle haze. Some films are worse than others, but they all have it. We've only had 2-3 customers complain about it in the last 10 years. So not a major issue at least for us.- 1

I have been using Avery Dennison's NR Nano Ceramic IR but I keep seeing cloudy results or low-angle haze. I think some haze is acceptable as a trade-off for performance, but there are just some customers who may not be happy with the result. Does anyone know of a tint manufacturer that has little to no low-angle haze? Preferably one without a $10k minimum monthly buy-in or something crazy like that. Does this only affect ceramic tint? -

Colorado Tint & PPF installer(s) needed!
We are a business with many different dealer accounts all throughout the Denver area and we are in need of another installer or two. We need guys with experience that are dependable, have an eye for detail & are capable of turning out high quality work. Unfortunately we are not looking to hire/train someone with little to no experience at this time. At the very least, we need someone who's capable & comfortable with doing basic 18" Clear Bra's (Hood, Fenders, Mirrors, Door edge/Door Cups) as well as 2 window match/full tints by themselves.
