G'day all. I feel a little embarrassed that in all my time I still haven't touched an FG. Have my first tomorrow. Are they similar to a BA - BF for pulling apart? Also do you have to go non metallized? Cheers.

Need a little help on a tint job product

I recently removed a tint job on a 2002 ford 150 HD screw (front). The rear has a smoked privacy glass with a film over the top to make it even darker. I had the front tinted limo and now the back appears black and the front appears grey-ish. Is there a black colored film out there I can match the rear with. Now I'm looking for a limo type privacy film and still be able to see thru it. Can anyone help me here ? I want the darkness and the privacy but want the film to be black in color. Can someone recommend a film MFG and type of film I need ?

Here lately I have been having issues with side fingers on my F250 rollups. When they pop up, of course they pull any dirt out of the seal into the film. Any suggestions? I clean the seal with my conqueror. Only have this issue on this vehicle.

I have encounter something new today. I purchased a 2002 Windstar to work out of and and of course the first thing is to tint it. The rear window just kept rolling up on me. I heated and pulled and it just got worse, so I snatched it off and cleaned the matrix with lacquer thinner thinking there must be something on it causeing the film not to stick. Tried it again and same issue, WTF? Has any one ran into this? What can I do?

Bought my first F150 windshield today. Didn't somebody give a warning on not to take the rear view mirrors off? This will definately be the last F150 front strip I do!

No issues, easy car, gaskets pull...much easier than the old ones. FYI 36" roll does not fit the front windshield, 40" will.

I just did the two fronts on a superduty with power mirrors. Pulled it outside and the mirror starts adjusting itself to the point of popping. Pulled it back in and blew out the control. Seems to have fixed it. I suggest popping the the control panel out (easy) and doing the window.

My brother warned me that a lot of late model trucks have a thin layer of clear plastic on them. He said not to razor those ones to clean it. I was just curious if any of the late model F150s have this? Especially the the 04.

Got my first new fiesta and focus booked in for tomorrow. I have seen a few of them and notice the spoilers overhang the rear back glass and cover the dotmatrix. My question is, can they be done without removal of the spoiler or do you need to take them off and If so, How? Thanks in advance

Does anyone know if these windows roll down and if so how. I have one in the shop and the windows look like they roll down some how, But I dont see any way to roll them down. Of course this could just be another stupid ford design . At least this pos does not have typical ford felt on the doors.

Fiesta Visor 1 2

When doing a visor, brow or what ever you refer to it as be careful. The glass is very soft and the mirror is only glued in two small spots instead of the whole mount. Even with the tool you can end up with a mirror in your hand with a chunk of the windshield hanging off the end. The one I had this unfortunate incident on was a warranty but it can take up to a year to get a replacement. The dealer the car was purchase from didn't want to warranty it as well. Glass guy said it was common. The glass guy didn't even want to push the mirror down all the way on the new windshield for fear of breaking the new one. I could have knocked this thing off with my clear max s…

I hate not tinting the whole glass on vehicles like this one and the Accord, so I take out the glass whenever necessary. However, it took 4 of them to figure out how the glass comes out. For those who remove glass, here's how to do it: Like most vehicles, there's a top screw on the divider between the quarter and rolldown: Then, after rolling down the window and removing the door panel, remove the screw behind this plug: Next, remove the screw on the inside of the door closest to the front of the car. This holds the outside trim in place. Next, CAREFULLY pry the outside trim up from the front edge first and remove it. This allows you to pull the quarter glass ou…

on these mirrors you've got to cut out around it outside and slit the film on the bottom to get it around it correct? i did one this weekend and i couldnt get it off so this is what i did. but my main question is how do you do it and get no light gap around the mounting? was wondering if that black out tape would be tha answer?? what's your trick? or if they come off, how?

I didnt see it so thought I would ask. On the doors you know how they roll down a inch or so and I have had no problems with them as far as tinting top and sitting in car and finishing out bottom. My problem is that I am sure there is a way to make the window roll up all the way an not have to close the door. I have tried to find a button or soemthing but have failed at this. Any help?

After reading on here about somebody having trouble with the back glass of a 94 tbird, and reading all of the other post's. I thought I would give every one some help full advice. To make these cars go smoothly. The trouble eveyone seems to be having with this car is quite simple. You are shrinking the bottom of the glass. That is why it is rolling on you. Dont shrink it at all not one bit. this will be hard to explain via internet but I will try. With your hand not a hard card tack down the bottom corners so that they stick to the glass. anchor the film high to get all of the tension up top and away from the bottom. then just shrink the top like normal. The top corner…

Buddy called me up and said his boss needed to have his window's "retinted" on his 2010 F-150... I said sure no problem. Went and picked up the truck tonight. Story goes, the guys girlfriends son tried, and I mean tried, to tint the windows as a surprise for his birthday... When I got there, I could understand why he wanted it redone so fast! Haven't seen a butch job this bad in a while! Here's after I redid them, crappy sell phone picture of the top edge.

I did two Crown Vic cop cars for a company that converts the 'police interceptors' into a real cop cruiser with lights and sirens and all sorts of stuff to keep hardened criminals cuffed and stuffed in the back seat. Done in EWF True Black 5%, what a hard shrink. I didn't crease it but it took all sorts of time to get it down. Good thing the TB can take a lot of heat, but even so I toasted some edges, even with pulling and shrinking, but left lots of extra film to trim. Scrubbed the heck out of the defrost lines so peanuts weren't an issue. Came out great, but took a good bit of my day.

Bought a '90 Mustang LX the other day. Tinted the rollups pretty easy(pulled driver's sideout and cut both sides from it). The small side windows and back window are giving me a hard time. I sanded the dots with steel wool numerous times and still can't get the tint to stick to the dots well. Anybody have any suggestions?
