Had a custy with a Lincoln MKZ call a little bit ago with a scratch in her tint, on the drivers window running straight up and down like it was from something in the door. Anyone had a trouble with anything like this on these cars?

Ford Glass ???

I have a 2001 Ford Focus, and was wondering what the factory glass metered at? Is it 75%? I live in NC and want something thats going to be dead on legal and it will look better than stock. I was thinking a 50% tint would allow ~38% VLT through if the glass metered at 75%? What should I buy to get it legal? I searched and didn't find what I was looking for. Not in a huge hurry, going to lunch with the guys at the wing place for the wing buffet!

We had a ford five hundred in yesterday, tinted it no problems at all as we have done a ton of these cars. Customer calls this morning saying she went out to her garage this morning and the driver rear roll down was shattered!! This is the 2nd five hundred in the last year that has called with shattered roll downs after tint. I remember about 6 months ago a guy calling saying he closed his door and the window shattered he wanted to know if it had anything to do with the film. At that point I said NO, now im wondering what the Fugg is goin on!

This car is pretty simple. back glass is a little tight to get to. I don't think the headrests come out. Even with them in it isn't bad getting the film on the window. Easy to shrink

Has anyone ever done one of these ford focus zx3 hatchback? I am gonna do one next week and would like to know if there is anything I should be looking out for. Are there any problems I should be aware of on the front doors, and how curvy is the back window? I havent seen this car up close in person yet but it appears to be flat in pictures. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I wanted to let you all know if you did not know already that the new mustang has some major door gasket problems. It appears that the F#$d Motor Company has decided to change the door panel window gaskets to a teflon material (just like Sat**n did) insted of using the traditional felt. The window gasket do scratch the glas and really cause havoc on window film. The manufacturer will not recall this problem as of yet so beware of customers blamming you for the scratches. We all know that no matter what happens to the car, if you are the last to touch the car everythig is your fault. I once had guy try to get me to pay for a new transmission because I tinted his fron…

I tinted this truck and had trouble removing the front door panel. We finally discovered that there are two screws holding the panel on. One is behind the door handle. And one is behind a trim piece at the rear of the door. The window crank cover pulls away from the door and there is a screw holding it on. Then the door panel just pulls up and thats it.I couldn't find any information about this on here so I thought I would post it.

This was the best way for a customer to love thier new car, add something to it that nobody else has. Needless to say "95% of window tinter won't even try to remove this stlye of a rear view mirror." I added silver to hide the floating film on the matrix, that's above the rear view mirror. The cutomer loved the colored vinyl, which was installed to the inside of the windshield. It matched the color of the paint on the car. "of course" please copy to tip of the week?

hi peeps, I see this has been posted a few times but I can't seem to find the answer. What is the easiest way to tint the rear window in 1 piece I have tried moving the horizontal anchor up and down the window which does make a diffrence but still keep getting creases in the film. I also seem to get horizontal fingers as well as vertical , I have heat shrunk a few rear windows but I am self tought and my limited knowlidge of this has got me stumped. I know these are not the easiest of rear windows and any tips would be a great help, Thanks in advanced

ALL WORK WAS AN ADVENTURE TRYING TO TINT THAT BIG TRUCK ESPECIALLY WHEN SHRINKING ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD, BUT WAS AN EASY INSTALLATION, ENOUGH SPACE BETWEEN THE RUBBER GASKET (NO NEED TO REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL) AND THE REAR MIRROR JUST POP OUT.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to make the dot matrix on the top of the back glass look any better other than just plan cutting it off?

I knew I had under quoted this one before I even got to it. I figured it would be the same as an F150, besides wider rollups. Once I get to it, I notice I has no border/matrix on back glass or on the xtra cab windows. So, I trimed the inside back glass gaskets and it came out really nice. I didn't bring my tools to remove pop out window so I had to just trim around the latches, but they came out decent. When I finished the guy liked it and tipped me so I got what I should of charged anyway.

Will a 20" roll be tall enough to do a 06' F150. I'm not sure if it will make it, since I have to do a bottom cut on this one.

08 F350 extended cab side glass
by Guest jokr423- 6 replies

A friend of mine asked me to tint his new work truck. None of the widows have factory tint. I got a quick look at it and I need to know how to remove the rear side glass. I don't want to cut around the round fasteners if at all possible. I have zero experience with this side glass. I am guessing there is a cover I can pop on the fasteners and then maybe a screw to release the glass and hinge. Any help would be great, I would like to try and knock it out this weekend as he isn't working because of the holiday, and this truck is easy money!! I posted this in the vehicle section but I didn't get any responses, someone has to know how to get them out. I want it to com…

I am relatively new at this and a friend wants me to tint his new work truck. I gave it a quick look and have a question about the rear side glass. The glass is hinged, and I would like to remove it for a clean install around the little round buttons that hold it in. My problem is I have no experience with this. Anyone know how to remove these so I can tint them, let them dry and then reinstall for a clean install. I am going to guess there is a cap in the interior that covers a screw that I can remove, but I did not get a look at the interior. I have tinted a bunch of front windows in these trucks, but the rears have always been tinted from the factory. The rest o…

On the 2004 Ford explorer I noticed that the back glass looks like it has some black flat thick paint layer over the paint. Does anyone know what that is and is called? Is the tint removable or must the tint be appled over the old tint?

Any tips on the new F-150? The seals on the top of the doors are the tightest I've had to deal with. When ya roll them up the tint just peels, tried to Blue max and some heat at the top and it still peeled even with super soaping all the seals before rolling up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wendell.
