I had been using a small flat head to remove them.. A bit risky you can feel the pressure on the windshield!!! So I bought one of those special tools designed to remove them. tryied using it on a 08 fusion.. Nothing.. the tool has 2 prongs. Anyone got any ideas about this tool or know a safer way to remove rear view on Fords??

Ford finally got one half way right , panel pullers rejoice . Front doors have 4 phillips screws and 1 torx t-30 hiding behind door latch , rears also have 4 phillips and 1 t-30 , rubbers pop out easily . Rear hatch has a nice smooth frit line that film will lay on , just has alot of wild cuts going on and not too much shrinking , I had to let the sun bake a lil' around the rear wiper after install and it went down easily . nice little suv , roomy on the inside and alot nicer than previous models .

2005 F150
by Guest jjg052590- 0 replies

I have a 2005 Ford F150, with 35% tint on the front, and the stock I have heard around 18% on the rear. I was going to get 20% on top of the front 35% and then 35% on top of the rear, and equal out dark, but one of my buddies told me that would be darker than 5% on the front, but to just take the 35% off the front windows and put 5% and then just add 35% on the rear and be around 5% all around, What do you think? Any help is great, thanks!

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem. I had an 03 saleen in the shop to day and the passenger side door was nearly 3/8 inch shorter than the driver. I hand cut both my patterns at the same time on the passenger side so when I got to the drivers door it was WAY to small. so I recut it and it came out great. I know its not uncommon to have different sizes but I have never seen that much difference on the same car. anyone else ever seen this?

What is the easiest way to cut the rear window on the 2007 F250 King Ranch? The back window is the type that the glass goes all the way to the HUGE rubber seal. NO ROOM FOR ERROR! I did the best I could and still had a tiny bit of light gap and the customer flipped! Any Help!

Is the back window in a '95 SHO different than other Taurus models? I did one this weekend and the back glass kicked my butt. The bottom was VERY curved. I guess I haven't done a Taurus that old in a while but I don't remember them being as hard as this one was.

I've looked around, I know its been mentioned here. Anyhow, whats the preferred route on these mugs? Cut right up to the fabric edge or not. I had heard of laying a black pinstripe around the edge to make a black border. Just wondering if that should be done before or after the film? Would the vinyl be too high off the glass to let the tint stick nicely around the edges? A lil help here, I've got the top here they just left it with me since its a new install. When they said they had the glass our the car I was like Oh hell yeah no problem... till I saw the top with it too lol!

Do most shops take off the door panels to tint? I want to replace my driver's side panel and wondering if I can just give the shop a new one for them to put on... Also, is 3M the best film? If not, what's the best? Thanks

Just a heads up. Just did one of these bad boys and its as long as an Excursion. Make sure you price it right. It defenatly uses more film. The seat belts for the third row are also in the middle of the rear quarter glass. Needs a T50 torx on an impact and the bolt doesnt come out all the way. After you loosen it up pull up on the bracket and pull out. They have some weird "L" hooks.

How do you shrink this thing? Looks like a piece of cake cake but this is the window from hell! Is it just me or is there a magic combination to get this to lay down? I'm doin it mdog's soap method, but the edges curl up as opposed to laying down. I'm in total frickin dismay on this thing. Any suggestions would be greatly apppreciated.

just tinted one today. and it was actualy not very bad. for an old car. for the back glass I slide my blade into the gasket. and ran it aound it to losen it up. then I scraped the rest of the glass. and soaked it then I used s wet dry vac while glass was still wet. and sucked up the edges. to try to remove as much dirt as I could. from the gasket. then cleaned as usual. on the doors I just cut into the rubber a tad bit . to give my self some hide space. then I took a white scrubbing sponge. and scrubbed them pretty good. then flushed them down with water. the wiped the edges again with a towel. then cleaned as usual . when I installed the film. I flushed the side edges we…

Since its a convertible its alot different then a hard top and in the interior there is a little wire with a plastic case attached to the window....How should I approach cutting the tint to fit around this? Should I cut around the little plactis housing after I have it all done in the inside of the window?

According to the Internet sales leader [spam removed] during the first quarter of 2007 the sales of the used cars via the Ukrainian Internet has increased by a factor of 6.9. There was the growth of offers for the used cars of all brands, except Seat and the Chinese cars, for the whole first quarter of 2007. The VAZ, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Opel and VW were the most offered car brands. The least offered were such brands as Chrysler, Citroen, Lexus, Seat, Subaru and the Chinese cars. The number of offers of the used cars of the Classes C, E, F as well as Minibuses demonstrated stable growth with the Class E being well ahead compared to the other classes, while the growth r…

I tinted a 07 Ford Escape the other day. The back glass is A LOT easier than previous models. Its changed and has matrix around the shocks that hold up the window. The rollups are the same BUT they have runner surrounding the glass instead of the felt they did have. The bottom gasket is still felt like before. Overall this vehicle is way easier to tint now.

Hi Guys. Got a Ford Probe booked in next week. Anyone done one before and if so, how tricky are they? Picture of car attached. Thanks.

The new Ford Edge is out now. It is one of the 'cross-overs', not quite a station wagon and not quite an SUV. The rears on most are factory darkened. I just tinted the front two roll-downs on one last night. Simple job with easily removable bottom gaskets. Just pull back a bit on the top of the plastic door panel and slide out the rubber gasket. The windows are approximately 38" wide by 18" tall. Again... easy job.
