Happened to me at work twice now, thought I should give the warning. First time I thought it was a fluke, second time I noticed a pattern. When you squeeze out the back window, the water will run PERFECTLY down the drivers side, down the inner quarter and funnel over a wiring harness that's part of the blindspot monitoring system, triggering a fault on the dash and saying see the dealer. Thankfully I work for a Honda dealership, so no biggie. If in the event this happens to you- pop the trunk, pull back the trunk liner on the left hand side by removing the cargo hook tucked in the corner (pressure clipped in) and peel it back. The harness is righ…

Hate to be that guy but curious if there are any issues. Have one to do, looks like a smaller Accord. Not worried about tinting it, looks easy enough, just if there is the same blind spot warning water problem Thanks

Hi all, I recently got my Clarity tinted, limo on the rear windows. I'm noticing this effect on the glass: The shop claims that it's a strain pattern on the glass, from the manufacturer. Another car-specific forum claims it's a bad tint job, having to do with the application. Hoping to get some educated opinions from the pros. Hope I'm not posting in the wrong place. Thanks!

I’ve done a handful of these and they’re definitely a bit challenging. I found that making a pattern with the release liner is the best way to get an accurate template. Haven’t used a plotter for these so I can’t comment on that. I don’t shift much side to side or up and down, just an exact cut and they fit well with no light gaps. You may be able to see the edge of the film (barely) in a spot or two but it beats having trash and creases in the corners. I know some people remove them I just haven’t felt comfortable doing that.

This is the easiest CRV to date!!! Easy gasket removal....just pull back top door panels and remove gasket. Rear BG shrinks with ease....NO MORE bottom curve like previous CRVs!!!!!!

Here's a video of how to remove the honda pilot quarter windows. This isn't a debate on which way is better or worse just a simple tutorial on how to take them out.

2017 Honda Civics 1 2

WARNING!! I don't know how many of you are shrinking the door glass on the car?? But, be very very careful if you do. The outer bottom rubber on the new 2017 Civics is VERY VERY FRAGILE!! It will melt and deform really easy. This also means no heating out fingers from the outside. You will roast the outer rubber if you try this.

I know they went over this already about this particular vehicle, Read about the rear glass being a little trouble to shrink. Gave it a shoot and didn’t get it right until the 3rd time. I dry shrinked, left the corners long to pull, and removed the spoiler. For the ones that had tinted this how you guys tackle it?

Any one have any good tips on how to tint the Quarts without removing the glass from the back doors? The gasket towards the back is really long and annoying!

More tinter friendly than previous model. Gaskets pull out like the current civics. BG is more flat, but deeper. overall, it's more enjoyable to tint than the outgoing model.

We tinted a 2016 Accord Coupe around a month ago, and he says hes now having issues with his factory navigation not being able to locate a signal. We tinted the windshield with Llumar Air 80, Honda of course told him that it was the film on the windshield. He said it just started having problems within the last week though. Anybody else had any issues with these after doing a windshield?

The Honda dealer asked me to tint a 17 civic hatch back that was sitting on the showroom. I gave them the whole " gotta remove the spoiler blah blah blah" They didn't care they just wanted it tinted. I use tint tek at the shop and mobile. To my amazement there's a pattern. That being half the battle, I noticed a new crv in the showroom and I remembered the hatch has a lot of curve at the bottom. So I plotted a civic hatch pattern and left about 2 inches extra filmbeyond the pattern and threw it on the crv and dry shrunk the bottom. The extra 2 inches really helps to lift and pull and allows you to shrink fingers Beyond the cut. I do all back windows that way. For…

Hey guys while researching the 2017 Ridgeline as a potential custy I came across this vid. I don't know if the person who did the tint on the Ridgeline in this vid is on here but ALL of us should note the sloppiness seen and excuses heard by this end customer. Work was done for Howdy Honda in Texas

Heads up. Same front doors as '16 Pilot. Quarters remove pretty easy but do whatever you want. Just be aware of it when you quote it. Rear quarters are bordered, everything is easy other than some extra time on the front quarters.

2016 Honda pilot has front quarter windows. I tried a couple times to do them in place. Wound up pulling them. It's just like pulling rear quarters. They do have an additional bolt at the bottom of the bracket, which totals 3 bolts and one screw in the top. Panel is two screws behind door opener and one below the arm rest as they were before.

Hi all I'm still a newbie in the tint world I've been tinting for 5 months and I've been thrown a curve ball. I have this Honda Accord I need to tint but the quarters look like a pain in the neck. Has any one ever tinted one of have any tips for a newbie? Hopefully one of you veterans can bail me out. Thanks in advance.

Just a warning to those who carry rolls at 36" ,, you might want to make sure you have some 40" for this one. Depends how well you shrink. This one shrinks pretty easy, but if you roast an edge with a 36" piece,, it might not fit.

Tinted a 2016 Honda Civic 4 door sedan today. They dropped the front quarter window and made the rear 10X easier to tint. I noticed on the front driver side window it would make a terrible noise right before the window got rolled all the way up. I'm posting a video of this so make sure you have the volume turned up and you will see what I'm talking about. I've never had this happen on any other car and I'm wondering since its only a month old then it is probably a factory defect. Has anybody had this before or have any suggestions what to tell the customer to do? It says the file is too big to upload... Any ideas how I can get it uploaded? It's only 11 seconds long.

So I have a White Honda Accord Euro (live in Sydney btw) which I would like to get tinted! I am tossing up between TintaCar which uses their customised Llumar tint, and I am thinking of getting their darkest legal Octane 35. However, I have also been quoted for Suntek Carbon XP (CXP) 35 from a less well-known dealer called Premier Tint for about $100 less. I mainly want to get mine tinted with the darkest legal look (main priority) , some privacy and to keep my car cooler in summer, without worrying about getting a ticket or future insurance claim voided (hence the legal tint). Does anyone have any pics of their cars with Llumar 35 or Carbon XP 35, or any experiences …

Fairly easy car to do. Just like any other pilot but on the 2016 they added a front quarter panel window. Kind of a pita. Sorry forgot to take pictures.

Hi Guys. I saw a post on Facebook last night( can't find it now) about back windows and film peeling from the bottom corner. A few people mentioned that there are 2 different glass manufactures for this back window, and that one window tends to have the peeling issue more than the other. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!

Hi, i'm new and i'm from Quebec Canada. (sorry if my english is far from perfect) I'm going to tint my 2009 Black Honda Element and i'm wondering which tint % should i go. (it has privacy windows in the rear) I also want a 6" windshield stripe maybe at 20%. Also want opinion about tint film should i put: I called all the local tinter and they all use about the same stuffs so my options are: ASWF EXCELL (220$) ASWF PERFORMER (270$) SUNTEK CARBON (220$) With those 2 options which one would you take? I have 2x 2015 Honda Accord Sports coming in. Do you have to remove the 3rd brake light. If I remember correctly 13 years ago (and I believe its Honda or may toyota) you could slide the brake light to the left and lift and unplug the connector, is it the same today?

Anyone else running into problems with the new civics back window side panels, they overlap the window? don't know if its a problem only here in arizona because of the heat or a nationwide problem. I've tried using wedges and on some they help but a lot of the panels are so tight you cant get under them, also to pull them you have to remove the back seat and lower panels before removing upper panels, 2 things about removing them is they have a air bag in them and also a 1 time clip that you have to replace. any suggestions? btw I do about 12-15 of these a month and hate them.

I don't tint allot of Hondas so I have a quick question. Upper dot matrix, its about 3 inches or so wide. The defrost lines are built into as well( that blows) anyway I steel wooled the matrix , did the install, and the area turned out dark in some spots and light in others, I am assuming dark spots are just where the film sucked to the matrix better than the light spots. Now client picks up his car and hour after I am done and is freaking out about how it looks. I told him " look, buddy give me 10 days to let it dry out and lets see what it looks like" my gut is telling me it should all dry out white'ish with the black dots still visible am I right?

just did a 2006 honda odyssey van. the worst thing about this vehicle was that the gaskets are very tight against the glass, especially on the front 2 rollups. the rear glass was easy i got it on the first try even though it is a curved glass. theres also 2 super small skinny windows on the side sliding doors but they have a small amount of black border to overlap

hi guys i did a crv yesterday it was a 2013. i would say they are easy to do. that little backglass is the hardest window to do. the wiper will stay back on it own. but it has a decent amount of curve to it....i anchored mid-low glass and got it first try. door panels are easy. 3 screws and no need to pull window switches

Done plenty of Accords but 1st one of these today. Typical Honda, easy, also did the windshield with Air80, no issues. If quoting the whole thing, don't forget to allow the extra $xx for the small window under the rear spoiler, similar to a Prius. Easy but no sense doing it for free. I didn't notice it in the google search
