What are people doing with the spoiler on the bottom??

Happened to me at work twice now, thought I should give the warning. First time I thought it was a fluke, second time I noticed a pattern. When you squeeze out the back window, the water will run PERFECTLY down the drivers side, down the inner quarter and funnel over a wiring harness that's part of the blindspot monitoring system, triggering a fault on the dash and saying see the dealer. Thankfully I work for a Honda dealership, so no biggie. If in the event this happens to you- pop the trunk, pull back the trunk liner on the left hand side by removing the cargo hook tucked in the corner (pressure clipped in) and peel it back. The harness is righ…

Rollups are EASY and the backglass is flatter and smaller than the previous version, more like the new body style accord, not hard to shrink at all, it does have the gay little windows up front that are kinda a pain to get to. There is plenty of room to get behind the 3rd brakelight with a bulldozer or binder cover or clipbpard.

Can someone give me some tips on doing these windows? I used to trim the gasket but it I want to find a way without having to do that. Maybe I should remove the window? How easy is it to come out ? Will I have to remove the panels or will the windows come out without having to remove the door panels?

here's how to remove the rear deck on the 04 civic 4 door. those of you who cut around the brake light, or use computer-cut, there's no need for you to respond with "I just cut around them". we'll just assume it's either illegal to tint behind the third brake light in your state, or you don't want to go to this much trouble. okay? first thing, find this 10mm bolt and take it out. it's located between the top and bottom cushions, just a little right of direct center. then lift the front of the seat up, it has clips holding it down. it will come right out.

I had a 2005 Accord come in today for a redo. We were given a spray tint remover. It's a overglorified window cleaner. I pull off the damaged tint. Then spend 1.5 hours and two scub pads removing the glue. What do you guys use to remove glue?

Have to tint a new shape Honda civic 56 plate on Monday for dealership. It not only has a rear screen( which looks easy) but it has a lower rear plastic vison panel, there seems no possible way of tinting this as there is no way in and its ridged on the inside Is there anything else that can be done?. Its gonna look silly with a clear panel at the bottom.

Had to tint one today, it was an 05 I think, It really sucked!!!! I took every thing off of the window, you know, wiper motor, handle, defroster connectors, hinges, third brake lamp, shrunk it, cut around the ten holes and wiring grommets on the glass, then when I stuck the film inside, the pattern was off because of the glass is smaller on the inside than on the out, I CUSSED ALOT , WTF??? Why do they feel the need to put all that crap on there, jees, man...

This is a neat lil car, really tight back seat. Door panels come off fairly easy, two screws in the armrest, one behind the door handle and a center push trim fastener. Then pop the cover off the armrest and one more inside that. Pops right off then. Huge speakers in the rear deck, I covered em' with a trash bag.

has any one had a issue with the new honda's. as far as the tint not sticking aswell as it use to around the edge's. I found on the new civic and accord 2 or 4 doors that the edge's like to roll a bit. I dont have this issue on the old one's or any other car. I think the one's im doing a preped in a different manner or have some type of coating on it . it's not no anti fog solution I have dealt with that before. looking forward to see the results here.

Just finished the 2012 Civic Coupe......overall, easy car to tint. BG has dot matrix all around, including the one on top as the previous model. Bulldozer highly recommended for the BG. For panel pullers, just pull top gasket back...plenty of room to slip film behind. 30 min tops.

Heatshrinking ?? on BG of '99 Civic 2dr 1 2
by Guest Alero- 18 replies

Hey, I'm a little newbie on doing 1 piece back glass. I'm in the middle of tinting my friends 99 civic 2dr. Any tips on heatshrinking the back glass? I can shrink the middle fine but when I get to the curve edges on the both side of the car where the glass curves at the end .. I get 1 big finger on each corner. When I put on the film, I do the squeege in an H-pattern like side in the how-to P.S. I can do a 94 civic hatch round back glass just fine just can't do this one.. I guess the rear glass size differences makes a difference even though the hatch's back glass is more rounder. Thanks in advance.

2006 Accord Coupe Defroster Reflection after Tint 1 2
by Guest kman08- 17 replies

I have a 2006 Accord Coupe. I got 8% tint on the back window with non metallic Solar Gard film. The sides are 22% metallic Solar Gard film. The tint has been there for almost a month now and every time I drive at night, headlights would reflect off my back window like crazy. It is almost impossible to drive at night time with all the reflection. The reflection is off the defrosters. I took it back to the shop and they can't see what is wrong with it in the day time and of course, they close early so I cannot show them at night time. They said the tint looks fine. I have heard of this issue but there must be a fix for it. Can someone please help? What should I ad…

I have tried 3 times now to tint this BG, on a 96 Honda civic hatchback. I'm no way near a pro only have done maybe 10 cars. This one is kicking my ass I'm having problems with corners to shrink them down. I look up the other 2 topic on this model BG, and tried that was said in them. I left the top and bottom long so I could tried to pull and shrink it but I can't seem to get it, I even tried during it on low heat.

Per Honda: 2003-2006 Honda Accord- Remove Panels 1 2
by Guest clevelandohiowindowtint- 15 replies
- 7.4k views
Honda Service News states the door panels must be removed when tinting the 03-05 accords. A local dealership also states this carries into the 2006 model year. The Honda ServiceNews article states not taking the panel off has resulted in the deformation of the weatherstrip and the binding of the window when it is raised an lowered. The bulletin states the tinter must remove the door trim panel and never fold the door glass weatherstrip wipers under. Check with your local Honda dealer for a copy of the article. In the past doing it the improper way may have worked, but the repair runs $440 per front window on a 2006 model. Please check with your Honda dealer …

The body style changed in '03, does this means the '03 Accords used feltless gaskets, too? or did they start doing this in '04? All references I've seen to the feltless gasket phenomena referred to '04 Accords.

got a couple to do. did one tonight at the dealership the quarters are tinter freindly now no having to pull quarters. the rollups need to be shrunk, I normally strectch film but these get some gnarly fingers so save yourself the trouble the lower seals can be tucked and flipped up prettys easy. the back glass seems to be easier to shrink than the last and the back deck is different comes up a little on each lower corner like the newer subaru legacy sedan I think.

2017 Honda Civics 1 2
by Bham- 14 replies

WARNING!! I don't know how many of you are shrinking the door glass on the car?? But, be very very careful if you do. The outer bottom rubber on the new 2017 Civics is VERY VERY FRAGILE!! It will melt and deform really easy. This also means no heating out fingers from the outside. You will roast the outer rubber if you try this.

I just remembered that when I did one of these a couple months ago the rear deck was a million times harder to take out than expected. The side panels do pop out, but with all your strength. The third brake light is really deep and I felt more comfortable taking the shelf out rather than get a weak pass with something. Nowhere near the fun of the sedan, couldve done two sedans in the time I spent on this coupe.

Hi guys, Need advice What is the best technic for the rear window on this Honda Civic back glass? - Is it the soap method, the bounce dryer, baby powder or pull and push? Or a combination of all? When you install the film where do you start 1st. Top or bottom corner first or any other way? : hmmm
