Hello... I have an 06 Honda Ridgeline and had my two front windows tinted this morning... The installed used LLumar CH30 tint and it does not match... My factory tint has kind of a blue/pinkish tint to it and the stuff they put in is very green... I asked them about it and they said "it's the best we can do, sorry" Anyone done a Ridgeline? Know of a tint that matches? Any help would be greatly appreciated! -Bill

1992 Honda Civic 3 Door

Firstly, customer is happy and his car looks much nicer. Secondly, this civic was kind of a pain in my butt! lol The Door rubber was the typical older honda tight fit at the top, but also missing a lot of rubber down sides nearest the b pillar and warped into the glass! Anyways, what do you guys do to deal with the very bottom of the back glass gate part where there are about 8 horizontal lines about 1/32 apart from each other? I heat and press and still seems like it takes too long to complete ...... Thank's guys.

I just got an 08 honda accord and I've been reading online something about having to take the door panels off. Just did my S 2000 last week and didn't have to do that for it.. Can anyone offer suggestions? I also read something about 1/4 glass -what does that mean? If the door panels need to come off can you give me a brief discription on where the screws are located? I've taken other types of cars door panels off so I'm not starting at suare one, but I'd like some info from the pros if possible. thanks!!!

I'm somewhat new to tinting. I've only done one car and it went pretty well. I'm wanting to tint my 2000 honda civic ex 2 dr coupe. I don't really have a problem with the side windows. I was wonder if I needed to shrink the tint for the rear window. Do you pros usually take out the entire window on the front roll up windows to tint it, so there are not gaps. Any advise or tips would be great.

has any one had a issue with the new honda's. as far as the tint not sticking aswell as it use to around the edge's. I found on the new civic and accord 2 or 4 doors that the edge's like to roll a bit. I dont have this issue on the old one's or any other car. I think the one's im doing a preped in a different manner or have some type of coating on it . it's not no anti fog solution I have dealt with that before. looking forward to see the results here.

Had to tint one today, it was an 05 I think, It really sucked!!!! I took every thing off of the window, you know, wiper motor, handle, defroster connectors, hinges, third brake lamp, shrunk it, cut around the ten holes and wiring grommets on the glass, then when I stuck the film inside, the pattern was off because of the glass is smaller on the inside than on the out, I CUSSED ALOT , WTF??? Why do they feel the need to put all that crap on there, jees, man...

Hey everyone. I'm not a professional tinter, but a car hobbiest that got interested in picking up this trade because it's like an art. I tinted a few cars before but scattered throughout 3 years. Like the title says I'm working on a '05 Accord coupe. The side windows are good. The back window is where the problem is. It's been a while and this is my second time tinting a back window. This window is HUGE and when I squeegy the water top and bottom the sides aren't smooth to the glass. I now know I forgot to make a horizontal anchor. Will this solve my problem with the fingers popping up on the sides and the film not smooth on the glass? Or does this car require t…

No tucky seals on Civics folks 1 2
by Guest darkdan- 12 replies
- 3.6k views
Apparently over at the civic board sedans (and I'm guessing coupes too) are having problems when people tuck the seals. I'm guessing that bottom seal isn't coming up and it requires the door panel to be removed and seal heated and flipped back into place to fix the problem. So no tucky tucky or make sure you get that bottom seal flipped.

Hello all, I am new to the tint world and I have been looking for a place to do the tint on my car. A lot of these places have many choices for the type of tint film. I was wondering what you thought was the best tint for my car. I've seen solar gard, soltec, llumar, and this one particular company likes to use luxury tint. What do you think is best? Thanks.

I'm considering an application to a Honda Accord in Baton Rouge,Louisiana where the temps. average 90-100 during your Summer months +++. I considering using the HP line or Carbon what do the Prof. recommend ?? If it's not Suntek what are the Best options ??

Heatshrinking ?? on BG of '99 Civic 2dr 1 2
by Guest Alero- 18 replies
- 6.7k views
Hey, I'm a little newbie on doing 1 piece back glass. I'm in the middle of tinting my friends 99 civic 2dr. Any tips on heatshrinking the back glass? I can shrink the middle fine but when I get to the curve edges on the both side of the car where the glass curves at the end .. I get 1 big finger on each corner. When I put on the film, I do the squeege in an H-pattern like side in the how-to P.S. I can do a 94 civic hatch round back glass just fine just can't do this one.. I guess the rear glass size differences makes a difference even though the hatch's back glass is more rounder. Thanks in advance.

Tinting 99 accord sedan
by Guest yellowflash- 8 replies
- 3.2k views
I recently had my 1999 accord sedan tinted and just rolled down my windows to see what it was like. To my suprise the top 4-5mm was not tinted, plus their is peeling and too much bubbling on all four windows (2 quarters and 2 roll downs in the back seat). They said they would fix the peeling and bubbling, but could not tint the whole window because there is no felt at the top of my door, is this true because I've done a search on the forums and it only seem that 05 accords and higher need felt. Is it impossible to tint the whole window? because it looks really weird when I roll down my windows to see that the top not tinted. If it is possible to tint the whole window can …

FRV with pics
by Guest naughtydog- 9 replies

I tinted an FRV today and got a couple of pics. If you have not done one they are a real pain, the backglass is curvy as hell. If you take the spoiler off it helps as the heat does not bounce of it and overshrink the film. Remove 2 x 10mm then it is on some tight poppers. Here's the start Heres the finished article. I did it in LLumar ATR 15% - in one piece.

This is a neat lil car, really tight back seat. Door panels come off fairly easy, two screws in the armrest, one behind the door handle and a center push trim fastener. Then pop the cover off the armrest and one more inside that. Pops right off then. Huge speakers in the rear deck, I covered em' with a trash bag.

03 Accord---Some tint questions
by Guest kentl901- 5 replies

Hey everybody, I've been looking through the forum and everything here has taught me a great deal. Anyway, I still have some remaining questions that I'm hoping would be answered. I have a 4-door 2003 Accord. To simplify this post, I'm going to list my questions. 1) Felt Issue- I believe my car doesn't need to have those felt install because when I touch the rubber seal/strip that touches the window on the bottom, it has a "felty" feel to it. Does this mean I don't need the felt installed? Am I looking at the right part or is this an internal thing, making this something I cannot identify without taking stuff apart? 2) The law- I live in NYC and know that VLT has …

scouts honor: if you do not felt these how may months in general b4 verticle scratches show up? I do 5 to 10 of these a month for a dealer. I have my own special way of doing them that dosent require bending, cutting, hacking or felt/moleskins/velcro, or spending more than 2 dollars a year. I havent had a redo yet going on 2 years due to scratches. Either I am doing something right or im due for some serious warranty work.

I just had my 2006 Accord (4dr sedan) tinted with Solarguard 35% all around. Now I have alot of distortion on my rear glass. Headlight reflecting on rear defroster lines. Extremely annoying!!! It looks like a million lights when I look through the rear view. Anyone else having this problem??? Do I need to take it back to the Tint Shop? Thanks!!

The rear deck in this car sucks!!! I dont know if they are all like this.....but in the middle of the rear deck there is about an 8-10" section where its slammed up to the glass. This leaves about a 8-10" by 2" area nearly impossible to tint. Luckily I was using a fairly thin film (suntek carbon35) and managed to somehow squeeze it past while putting pressure on the deck. however squeegeing was an issue. Bulldozer is too think. The slammer worked best but I still left more water behind than Id have liked too. I showed this problem to the customer and said it all should dry out, and if not I would re-do the back glass. And because Im a nice guy I have him the Car…

Was doing a 98 Civic 4 dr last night and over most of the back glass there was specs that looked like defroster line material. I carefully scraped most of if off not touching the lines. Has anyone seen this before? I was using a white scrubbie and that did not touch it. Is there an easier way to clean it?
