the new g37 coupe has remodeled the front window mechanism because older g35's would have too many problems. they swithed it sensor to a single wire design to hopefully solve some off the problems. when you unscrew the bolt holding in the sensor, you may need to reset the window timing to get them to function correctly. we did one today, and when we put it back together it looked fine. but when you open the door the window rolls down half way instead of a 1/4". the windows also wont roll up or down unless the door is closed. customer was watching too. so in order to reset it, you go inside the car with the doors closed and roll them up and hold the switches up for …

I did an install on one of these about a year ago and the customer recently called and said that the driver door was beginning to peel in the corner. I rarely have any issues like this so upon hearing this I hopped on tintdude and saw that this was somewhat common on these, and also on the G37 which I believe is the exact same car for the most part. I’ve done a good bit of these in the past and have never had an issue. I pulled the sweep and made sure the film was well below the gasket this time so hopefully all is good now! Anyway very easy car to tint, hardest part for me is getting into the backseat.

I’m new to this forum, so I hope this post is appropriate. I purchased this vehicle new, and over the last year and a half, I noticed the window tint peeling on the back window from the bottom upward. I’ve never seen anything like this before, so I took it to the dealership to see if there might be a recall or if it would be covered, but they said no and refered me to a place here locally in Houston. They also told me it was caused mainly due to sun exposure, which to me, didn’t really make sense. I’m open to suggestions as to what to replace it with, and where I might take it to. Additionally, whatever film/decal type material they used as paint protecto…

We have done hundreds of G37 coupes without any issue. However on this one we are having issues with the film being pulled up in the corner with the windows moves up/door when opening door. It will be coming back for the 2nd time after the initial install for the same issue. This last time we let the car sit with the doors open and clamped for couple of extra hours. Wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Solar Gard Ultra Perforamnce Review

Solar Gard Ultra Performance Tint installed on a 2015 Q60 Coupe. Find them at http://solargard.com/window-films/automotive/auto-films/ultra-performance Front: 30% Rear: 20% Back: 20% Material?? Have no idea. Shop says ceramic, Solar Gard says not ceramic. Clarity? Pretty bad! Especially in direct sunlight... See the haze? And these are just photos. Imagine how bad it is in real life! Tint has been installed for about 1 month now. Here is another shot at around 3pm... Truck blocking the sun. Not to much hazing. This is what they call "Ultra Performance offers industry leading film clarity for unaltered visibility and safe dr…

New to the forum (finally signed up). Has anyone tried removing film from the rear window of the above car? Film is covering the brake light as well and it is an incredibly tight fit to try and remove glue from in front of the brake light unless the rear deck is removed which i couldnt figure out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello! I realize this is a forum for professional tinters, but I figured it would probably be a great place to get some consumer advice! Please let me know if this is the correct forum to post such a question. I've had my '09 G37S Coupe for about 9 months now and finally got around to tinting it yesterday (35% all around, 3M Color Stable). I know it takes a few days for little bumps, streaks, and cloudiness to go away, but driving last night I realized there is something quite annoying about my back window now, and I'm not sure if this is normal. The back window (like most newer cars have, I assume) has those tiny heating wires pinstriped across from top to bottom for…

I don't know how many other models this applies to and not too many Infiniti owners seem to want a visor, but I thought I may post what I came across yesterday. This model has a camera in the headliner that looks through the top of the glass in a non-bordered area, and the factory shader AND the lamination is cut out around it. So needless to say, no film should cover the area. This is a two-piece visor no matter what because the mirror area has a very low border, and the camera is right beside it. I used blue tape installed on the inside to outline where the lamination was cut out (its not too conspicuous but you can see it if you get up close); then I trimmed my film …

So I just got done tinting one and the SES light is on. Didn't unplug anything, although I did pull the deck forward a little to get behind the carpeted molded brake light, however that allowed me to put a sheet down and keep the sub and the amp dry. Maybe a little water in the wrong spot in one of the doors? I haven't asked the customer yet if it was already on. With 3000 miles, most likely not. Anyone else run into this?

Did one today. Customer was watching so I didn't attempt to pull gaskets like you can with a G37. I tucked them, but they were easy to flip back up. Third brake light is molded, but was easy to get behind with a dozer. No shrinking needed for the doors. Did it with Wincos 30 on the two fronts and 20 on the rear. It took a little over an hour to complete. Over all, pretty easy car just like all Infiniti's. Love the new body style. Car turned out top notch.

Had one today and there was no info, so I'll post for others. back glass was pretty curvy, took a good bit of shrink. Sort of reminded me of 03ish Jetta back glass. No 3rd brake light in there to worry about, deck doesn't need removed. Side seals were loose but deep, panels require removal of a screw behind handle, then remove trim that goes around lock and grab bar and 2 more screws. Then pop and pull up really hard. To put them back on you have to get them in place and give them a pretty good whack down and it'll fall right in. Other than that doors were easy, no shrink necessary, can be done with 20" etc. Pretty standard, relatively easy vehicle that kicked my …

This car looks pretty easy but was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks on it. I'm assuming the seals are tight. I do most cars without pulling panels off but the qtr windows look like they might need something done with the seals. I'm really looking forward to the back glass cuz it looks cake. Thanks

I wish ever car was this easy to tint. The third brake light is close to the window, but couple pushes with the Bulldozer and it was all good. I removed the quarter windows. One philips screw on top, right under the weather strip. Two 10mm bolts holding the D-bar, take those out and push the D-bar forward with the window being all the way down. Take your time, and pull the Quarter window out. Door panels are stupid easy to pull. One philips/10mm bolt where the Door Lever is, and two 10mm bolts behind the trim, or handle.

This may help someone else, and I just wanted to use the shop's new dig. cam. I did this car yesterday, and had to gut the back end to get the deck out. It has some hidden bolts, so here's some help. Start by taking 2 17mm bolts out of the armrest...then remove armrest.

I just did 2 of these last Sat. all door panels are super to pull . Remove little plastic cap behind door open handle , think as in a Maxima or Altima, 10 mm . Down near armrest area there is a pull pocket , I used a small , bent straight edge screwdriver placed in the very center .Cover pops outs slightly and then slides out at an angle , 2 phillips screws there . Back glass had the motorized cover built in to the deck , was somewhat tight , but managed okay . Sadly couldn't get away from rear brakelight , too much work to remove the whole rear interior. Customer didn't want me to remove , 2nd. vehicle back deck had more room and film slid easy to cover the light . Used …

Just got done with an 08 G37 coupe and Very nice looking car. The tint job turned out very clean. However after putting the door panels back on the windows weren't working properly. On these cars if you disconnect the window switches they lose memory. And have to be reset using the window switch. It is in the owners manual on how to reset so no problem. However next one i do i'll probably just pull the panels loose and not unplug the switches to save me some time. Just thought i'd share that with some of you guys to see what you would do.

2003 Caribbean Blue G35 Tint Question

This may or may not be the place for this but I am a concerned consumer who owns a 2003 Infiniti G35 coupe that is Caribbean blue with the tan interior. I was wanting something with a light mirror reflection in it since the car and interior are so light I didnt want to kill the look of the car by having dark black tint on it. None of the shops in my area offer anything other than a metallic black for a reflective look. I would like to get your opinions on what I should look at for tint as well as some suggestions on tint I could purchase on my own and have someone professionally install it. Also through my searching and wanted to know if Gila film is any good or if it is …

I would like to tint the front side Windows on my black FX35 but not sure what would be the best match to the rest of the windows. The back windows are already tinted from the factory as standard but I would like to tint the front side windows to match the back ones. What would be the recommendation for the best match? Does anybody know what film tint I should get installed for the FX35? I know Llumar film tint is recommended but not sure what shade and percentage. Would 35% grey/charcoal be very close? Thanks for your help.

I'm trying to tint a white g35 sedan 2004, but not sure what to look for when looking up a tint shop, how much it costs or whatnot. If you know of a good place in Orlando, FL area please point me to it and let me know what color or type of tint would work for a white car. I thought 50% is good enough because I look in my rear view miror frequently... Thanks,

frameless windows backglass is pretty easy except for around the brakelight on the bottom, you can remove the breke light but there are 2 humps in the way, you need something slim to get into that area, I used a conqueror. easy tint job backgalss does have a 3 inch band of matrix up top though
