I'm selling my Q-42 vinly cutter. It is less then four weeks old. Works fantastic cuts a whole car in less then 3 mins. Cuts vinly stickers smoothly. The reason I'm selling is because I can not get a single car or truck done without redo such as hair in the tint and or dust. Also business in my small town is slow, making it hard to justify having a plotter. Plotter has the stand with no basket Plotter comes with tint tek 20/20 cd Plotter comes with tint blade Plotter comes with vinly blade Can take video of the plotter cutting film I'm asking $3,600 obo Once again it's a q42, less then 4 weeks old. I'm in Fond du Lac, WI Not too sure how well this would s…

Does anyone know for certain what color matches the Harley Davidson orange exactly? I just started doing some work for a customer, who has now requested that color for his trailer, and I would like to keep him coming back and spreading my name in the community.

Hey All, Years ago I had the a 40" plotter and I used the computer cut program with it, but I sold my shop in 2008. My wife is a nail tech and we are thinking of getting a table top plotter, we will be using this for small designs in nails as well as designs in tint. I am starting to install again around my day job. Any recommendations for a solid table top unit? Thanks

I've a Roland camm pro plotter, a 36" digitizer, application paper, and 14 yrs of bulk ppf installation experience. How/where can I go about sending an employee to efficiently & effectively learn how to use the 2 hardwares? I plan to make custom templates(partial bumper) with the paper, digitize them, then cut it on the plotter. What software is adequate? Thank u!!!! :-)

plotter media basket 1 2 3

instead of spending the $625 everyone wants for a media basket for my graphtec I decided to make my own. I used some old conduit that I had laying around here. I cut the conduit into 4 ft lengths, then I used a 48" x 65" piece of black screen (your basic window or storm door type of screen) and attached each end to the conduit. nothing special. I re-enforced the screen with some black burco tape then cut slots through the tape and screen to run black tie-straps through to attach the screen to the conduit. for the front of the plotter I used media roller mounts that came off my old roland plotter. they screwed right in to my graphtec stand. for the rear of…

Where does one find a template for side stripes on a vehicle? I have quite a few Mopars that come in with unique requests and am tired of farming the work out. I know there is a disk or something where they can be purchased or if anyone has the template and wants to sell the template I'm game for that as well.

Looking for some input as to the benefits of each. I do ppf and auto/fg tinting. Here are my questions: Cost for the USED Roland is $3600, JagRX is $5600, plain Jag is $4300. Thoughts? Flat glass installers, do you feel it saves time precutting your film in the plotter? Job size matters I know. Is it normal for FG installer to cut film in plotter? How easy is the Jaguar RX brand to use compared to Roland? Jaguar has two options; Jaguar RX and no RX. What's the difference? Is it worth it to pay for RX? Plotter users, is the table or catch basket better? Thank you for the help in advance. Any other suggestions or tips please feel free.

Okay, so I'm looking for the "25 degree tint blade" for my plotter without having to go through the manny. I Googled them to find they don't exist. I can get 30's 45's and 60's but NO ONE makes 25's. Yet that's what the manny says will cut film. What do you think? Do the mannys do this to keep us buying from them or are these blades only made FOR them? I think we could all save a few bucks by buying 30 degree blades. Anyone with me on this?

Hey guys I just moved the location of my plotter into my work bay and I got a Roland 64 inch plotter. Just wondering if you guys have any photos or description of how you store tint so that it is both easy and efficient to switch different rolls, sizes, types etc. also I used to buy 60 inch rolls and have them cut 22/38 but now I'm thinking of getting 40 inch and 24 inch. Any comments on that?

I have a APD plotter and i use precision cut . When i use flexicut to cut signs then i go back to cutting precisioncut the sizes are off . Like it will cut a 4" sq only 1 1/2 "sq . I have to go into precision cut and adjust the units per inch . ITs suppose to cut at 1016 and i have to adjust it to 2550 to cut an accurate size . Any suggestions what it could be ? Llumar has never heard of this problem .

What angle Blades do you guys use for window tint? Im having a terrible time dialing in tint on a Mutoh 54" using a 45 degree angle blade. Its either too deep, and screwing up my run, or not deep enough and i have to re trace everything by hand.

I bought it used, I have a brand new blue blade holder, a new 25 degree blade and a brand new cutting strip. I can dial it in very close to 100% but always seem to have a 1 inch area that I have to finish cutting when I weed it out. Many times it's 2 small little areas that I need to trim. If I up the pressure a notch or 2, it seem to cut worse. Twice now after switching blade holders to cut PPF, when I go back to my tint blade, I have to start from scratch and dial in the cut all over. I'm starting to think it could be just a crappy plotter, never had any problems with my Roland.

Hey guys Im new around here, and just opened a new shop here in good ole West By God Virginia. The shop is focused on aftermarket automotive upgrades and accessories. However, I forsee our bread and butter being Tint, at least for the first couple seasons. Im looking at picking up a 40-42" plotter this week and was hoping to get some advice on whether or not im headed in the right direction. Without any input from you guys, Im going with the tinttek Q42 bundle. My other tinter, and I have both used TT 20/20 and I used Flexi for graphics before I got into tint. Im sticking with something in the 40" range, as I normally order tint in 38-40" rolls and have had no issue with…

Its finally come time that im losing money by not having a plotter. This year im already booked out a month and have to turn down work regularily... its time for a plotter. Where do I start? I use 40" rolls right now and would like to stay with them if possible.... were using SolarFX Ultra, will that have a static issue with the plotter? If someone could link me to / point me in the right direction that would be awesome!

Hey guys, I posted something similar in the PPF forum, but I was hoping to get as much input as possible. I wanted to get some input from other shops about Paint Protection Film Pattern Software. It seems we can't find one that gives us everything we need. We have used both window tint and ppf programs from Suntek (Trucut) and we are currently using tint and ppf patterns from Tint Tek. We used Tru Cut when it was first released, and we had A LOT of problems with the tint patterns (too long, too short, light gaps, top edges were choppy) but the paint protection program seemed okay. Right now with Tint Tek, the PPF patterns are causing me to lose more money …
