I did a set of fronts on one of these and it was super simple. Sweeps pull right out (standard metal clips) and no need to shrink. Has felt on the sides so I recommend taping.

I tinted one of these a couple months ago (2019 I believe). Did not remove the rear deck, headrests or pull any panels so it was definitely a little more challenging than your typical sedans. Overall it came out nice. The doors are tight so I cut almost exact with hardly any shifting. The rear window was the most challenging. I have done a handful in the past and have always cut around the brake light. This one happened to be for a Steeler player so I decided to go for it without cutting it out. It came out clean but in order to squeegee behind the light I had to press down on the deck lid while using the bulldozer. This particular one gave me just enough room for me to …

Had one to do today and could not get the 1/4's to stay up when the top went down. It would be good if I could find a fuse or something to pull that controls these little buggers. They have no frame around them and it would look a whole lot better if I could tint them to the edge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had a 2013 XJ-L last week which was impossible to get the headrests out and also could not get the seatback out for nothing. The brake light was so tight to the glass that water wouldn't even pass it, unless pushing down on it, in which it maybe moved an 1/8". Ended up cutting around that one. No light gaps but hate having the short-cut look on the outside. If any one knows how to get the seat back out of it so the deck can come out please reply. There's bound to be another one pulling in one day. This car didnt have a fold down seat appearance like the XF in my other recent post, which also didnt fold down without manually tripping the hidden latches. I successfully …

Reach under the lower seat cushion to release. There will be several connectors to disconnect. Pull the 2 straps coming out from under the top section. Seat will tilt forward and pull out. You will have to remove all the side trim panels including the lower door jamb pieces. There will be 2 8 mm bolts holding the deck in on each side plus 3 clips at the front. Just loosen the bolts, you won't have to remove them all the way. You can see the black tabs on the bottom side of the deck.

Did 2 this week, doors are about as hard as the new BMW 7 but the PITA is the back glass. Third brake light is right up against the glass, but if you push on it you can just fit your Bulldozer in.

I know the back window of the new Jaguar XF might be a bit tricky only because the centre brake light in the rear tray bulges out close enough to touch the glass. has anyone ever removed that rear tray? if so please let me know how youve done that, I'd hate to have to cut the brake light out of the window film. Thanks!

Very easy car to tint. Seals tuck easily. No need to pull panels. Although they do come off pretty easy. No need for deck removal. Jammer is enough to get behind the brake light. Alittle too tight for the bulldozer though. What's with all these new cars? Leave the key on for 20 minutes and the battery is dead. pieces of crap Might as well stick a charger on the battery while working on it. And the battery is in the trunk underneath the floorboard that folds up.

Just took delivery on the car and have to have it done overnight, I read the few posts on it and have a few questions How do you get the rear deck out? I am not seeing any typical ford clips for the bottom of the seat and am not seeing any hidden pull for the rear seats to fold down. So any tips or walkthroughs on removing the rear deck would be great. Also. Bottom sweeps on side doors look like a nightmare, I'm normally a panel puller but is there any tricks? If all else fails, i just tint the 1/4 rear windows thank you

There was a post with instructions on how to remove the rear deck on this generation-Just so you know, the rear seat on the 2012 I just did didn't have release cables to fold it down as some others. These have a very tight brake light, and hard plastic trim touching the bottom of the rear glass along the matrix so i wanted to remove the deck for a flawless install and no cutout. I looked in the owners manual and it clearly showed where to pull the releases, with no noted exceptions, but they weren't there. I searched some Jag forums and found out that starting in Model year 2012 only the XF-R is equipped with fold down. I was able to locate the latches, in the truck, at t…

the doors have rubber gaskets along the sides and the bottom seals are very soft and easily tucked. the backglass on the other hand is pretty curved, reminded me alot like shrinking the new style lincoln town car backglass, because of the amount of shrinking you have to do.

r&r on '06 Jag XJ8?
by Guest WISEGUYSinc- 6 replies

I need someones advice. I have this '06 Jag XJ8 here. The lady that dropped it off wants an R&R for the back glass. She just purchased the car, and said she thinks the film is causing the AM Radio to be a li'l fuzzy. She pointed out the 3 antenna lines above the defroster lines at the top of the back glass. So while driving it around to the garage I turned on the radio and the AM seems fine.. I mean just a little bit fuzzy but AM usually is. The FM sounded like HD radio, real clear. It seems like the AM is fine to me. What are some of you guys's take on this. Opinions are appreciated.

Rear deck on these is right against the glass. Too tight and fuzzy to leave in. Fold the rear seats down using the release in the trunk. To remove the back seat side panels slide your hand in on the left side of each panel. (inside of driver's side, outside of pass. side) Push in the clip at the bottom of the plastic anchor. (in the first picture) Then the panel pulls out enough to gain access to side bolts that hold on the deck. Then remove the bolts anchoring the child seat belt attachments. The side pillar panels pop off from the top and pull up and out. The clip I'm holding out (in the second picture) slides up and out for panel removal. It's kind of a ti…

Door trims dont need to be removed. There is a plastic end cap on the door trim which pops off to reveal a screw. Take out this screw, and the top of the door panel can be pulled away from the door, and the rubber gasket comes out easy. The little quarter glass windows look harder than they really are, the rubber is soft and you can slide the tint in behind it for a clean looking install. Tried to remove the rubber totally, and even asked the Jag techs what we should do, but we tried it as-is and got a good result regardless. Rear window is a hatchback.
