Just reading the am reception thread and made me remember, had the same problem on a 2006 Kia Amanti, Had to remove and replace the rear window, buuutt.. when I pulled the film off all the defrosters came off with it . This only happened once, so whern I have to do a re & re on a rear window I tell the custy I'm not responsible for damage do to the drefrosters coming off with the film Has anyone else run into this mess?

Morning all. Had a heap of these come back with tint scratched off neqr mirror cover. Done 4 this week. Door striker just clears glass when new. If wind pulls the door it bends striker just enough to hit the glass when door is closed and window rolled down. Just a heads up incase you cop warranty to have a look at this befor retinting.

Anyone take this out? It's 2.5 feet wide with a rubber gasket pressed against the glass. I'll try to get a pic.

Panel rolls off seal, front quarters are cake. Front door rear edge is tight and deep. Doable but need some more slip. The 3rd brake light is a pain literally to remove. Think Audi but add 3 10mm bolts that are in there real deep, pop push clips out headliner at back to start. There’s a keeper on each of the bolts that makes getting it started easier. Sunroofs are kinda stupid still. And there was no getting a rope in the dash for the shield. Super tight on driver side. Another easy car ruined by engineers

Windows - Super easy. Just like previous models. Take out the sweeps to make it easier on yourself. Pull back gently. I don't ever shrink these side windows. BG - Again. Super easy! Windshield - Pretty easy. Nothing concerning to me personally. Overall Difficulty: 1/5

Limited quantity I hear. Anyone do one yet? They're incredibly easy, and a hatchback. I had no pattern, so had to give it a hand job.

No heads up, this newly redesigned Rio is easy. No screws to remove, seals pop right out with a couple of plastic plugs popped with a plug puller. I just did a set of patterns for Tint Tek on this car since it's not in the data base. Will submit them on Monday and hopefully available shortly thereafter.

When you look at these trims specially around the door lock grab handle from inside, you wonder how on earth is that attached? Is there a typical screw in behind it? No! One screw hidden way underneath the arm rest on all doors with a plastic cover that hides the screw. Take that out and unclip all the male/female door trims plugs and its off and then the internal weather strip can be freed. Tape the verticals due to felt and its done. Simple rear screen but the wiper arm doesn't sit up out of the way which is a bit annoying. Devil

Heads up guys, brand new Kia forte sedan the other day, new blade right out of the box, and etched the glass. I went right back to the dealer, had them order a new piece of glass on my dime. $120 CAD for the side door glass. Anyway, be careful out there.

Any tips on how to remove it off the rear shelf? There appears to be nothing under the boot like bolts retaining it in and very hard to move in any direction from the inside. Cheers, Devil

An 06 Magentis How the heck do you remove the rear light on this thing..I removed the 2- 10mm nuts underneath but there is not enough clearance to pull it out on the inside without hitting the glass. I thought that you could just screw out the 2 bolts like that on some Honda's with a flat head screwdriver, but these appear like they are not meant to come out this way. Any help would be appreciated

The rear door quarter windows. Can someone that does these on a regular basis give me a line on what type of tool there using to press the tint down? The gaskets are so tight, I have been trying to do it with a platinum easy reach triangle but its still touch and go, sometimes the tint just pulls back out with the tool.

Ok so it's the easiest car on the planet to tint, and this will seem trivial but I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into this, or maybe its something to watch for. I had one that the right rear (manual crank) window when rolled completely up showed the top cut of the film along the downward slope because the glass only went up flush to the rubber instead of 1/4-3/8" into it like the other side (which still ain't much). I could easily put my Popsicle stick between the glass and the rubber. I told the custy to ask the dealer to look at it, only for the sake of air or water leakage, and they got smart with her and said the tinter should have tinted closer to the ed…

Nothing special about these cars, easy easy easy. Each door panel has 3 screws, pop it off, remove gasket. Rear window is cake, plenty of room, and no obstructions. Can easily get behind 3rd brake light.

I had two Kia's this past week that got windshield strips and the mirror wire went into the mirror shaft. Didn't see any way to unplug it on mirror or in the head liner edge. I hated leaving the mirror hanging but that was the only choice I could see.... Anyone have a trick or know where the plug is? Or do you just hang them too?

Much nicer to tint than the prior ones folks. I think you'll like ! The 4 bottom seals pull out without removing a single screw if you don't want and 2 less windows to tint Tint Tek users , I just got tinting the templates and patterns should be up and running same time tomorrow

Another cake car. KIA decided to add vent windows this time. Other than that, they are making life easy for tinters. Brake light is built into the deck.

Cake car. The brake light is top mounted with a border. Which is good because it is bolted in and looks like you'd have to drop the headliner to remove it.

I've tinted two of these damn things in the past week, the rear side trim pieces have these hella-pops that are pain in the ass to get out, what in the hell is Kia trying to prove here?? " We can make a back deck that's a pain in the ass, too......der" I mean really, is all that necessary, it's still just a Kia.....

Dealer here just got them in so I had 3 to do yesterday. Nice easy car to tint. Dot matrix on the sides of the back glass were a bit of a PITA, really coarse....but layed nice with a bit of heat. Door panels only have 3 screws, all phillips. Clips hold the panel really tight, after givin a few good tugs, I thought maybe there was some hidden screws, but nope, one last tug and all the clips popped. I love easy cars!

Yesterday tinted a 2010 Kia Optima and used a DYED film - Specifically QDP. Customer called dealership today claiming that when she turns on her defrost wires she loses radio reception. Since I have NEVER had that problem before, have any of you? My guess is the film is not yet dry and the small amount of solution left in the film is somehow shorting out the radio antenna?? Would be a first though. What do you guys think??

Top seal is hard enough that it can't be tucked without screwin' it up. Gasket wizards didn't work worth a shiat because there's another hard seal an inch below the top one. So we pulled the panels. No big deal. Easy panels. Remove push screws from front and rear of door frame trim piece and pop it off. All the screws that need removing I pointed out. If you can't get it from there...you're not a panel puller.

I just did one of these lil' gems , ezy r&r on panels and a back glass / hatch with ezy to remove brakelight . One piece rear and a nasty matrix at top , a little sanding did the trick though .
