super easy to pull sweeps on. remove the plastic cover behind door handle. remove screw. top of the panel pops back with little effort and remove sweep.. no felt seals to tape. this truck is easy money. make sure you cover door panels to protect stitching on top of the door panel.

This car took us about 4 hours to tint. We had to remove the rear deck on this 2019 which we never had to do on any Charger. The back glass gave us so much problems even after wet sanding it with 2000 grit. It just didn’t wanna stick on the bottom. Even after removing the rear deck we still had a hard time due to the sub woofer sticking up so high. There also alots of electronic that need to be cover up back there so be careful.

The door panels have 3 10mm bolts then they can be pulled off. After taking off one, I realized I only needed to pull the top of the panel back. You may only need to take one 10mm out behind the handle but I did all three. The back was a slider. The two outer windows for the slider meet right up to the border of matrix, not leaving too to hide the edge. I ended up having to trim the top of those on the inside.

2013 Ram roll-ups

Friend of mine bought one and i was going to factory match the rollups. I taped the felt first and cleaned the window, as usual. Problem im having is the side seals are super tight. The bottom sweep is very flexible, so, tucking is no problem there. Is there something i'm missing on getting the tint pressed in there without creasing it. I wonder if i should push out on the window to get more room? Comments appreciated.

We did a clear nano ceramic on a 2015 chalenger. After we finished the car freaked out. The headlights flashed the horn went nuts. Did we fuck the computer? Actually i was only an observer at this shop in ohio. But i dont want to risk this scenario at my shop in kona.

Hello all, I was wondering how you guys were doing the roil ups on the rear sliding doors. It looks like it has the thing at the back that covers some of the window. It looks like a real nightmare to get film behind there. Any tips?? Thanks in advance!!!

Paint protection causes mirrors to whistle. May just be the pattern I used, but loud whistle starts at 50kph both mirrors. Removed film and no more whistle.

Hadn't noticed a problem with the 2015s, but now they seem to slap silicone sloppily along the bottom of the bg. Twice now, and on the Hellcat the silicone went up so far as to cover a clear portion of the glass at the bottom passenger side corner. Real PITA! Can't get a blade down there without risking damage to the defrost. Had to use a broken bulldozer to bulldoze the silicone off the glass. Maybe hasn't affected anyone else, but it's something to look out for on these.

So I have a customer who called and inquired about tinting one of these. I don't remember if I have ever ever done one of these before! lol. I did a search and someone had mentioned on the "black list" section of cars to place it in the "charge extra". Anyone remember doing one of these? How hard is it? The back glass looks like it might be a PITA!

Step 1; Relax. Just a Dodge product. Step 2; I folded the back seats down and climbed in. Step 3; Pull headliner down, it is just clipped in. Popped 4 fasteners total. Step 4; Pull edge of assembly towarss the rear of the vehicle, where it seals against the back window. It will release the two metal clips, which may or may not stay in the car. If so, remove with needle nose pliers. Step 5; unplug harness, tint window, re-install as mentioned above.

I haven't seen where anyone has mentioned the overhead third brake light on the new Challenger yet.... This brake light sticks out from the headliner onto the top center of the backglass Now if you pull down on the headliner section you are okay. But if you pull down on the black plastic cover on for the brake light Don't pull hard enough to release it from it's clips. These clips will pop off and stay in the metal roof area above the headliner!! They are very difficult to get out if you can still even get to them!! So again,, don't pull the third brake light cover out of it's clips. Just wedge a bone tool or something thin but enough to raise eac…

Of course the usual third light, but don't even bother. I swear I put 2 pounds of pressure on that thing just trying to prop it open with a pen under a corner and it popped. Honestly considering refusing to do Challenger back glass. I hate cutting around the third light I think it looks like crap. If you're doing one warn the customer ahead of time. Guy was on a waiting list for 1 1/2 years just to have some asshat tinter turn his new car into a rattle fest. Just trying to do a nice job for you sir... Maybe I'm just angry, but I think this is Chrysler's problem. It's bound to happen eventually. Lights are normal wear and tear. Who engineers this thing to do this? …

What are you guys doing to avoid a light gap around the slider clip, and the latch on the driver side window? I've got very little experience with rear sliders, and what I do have they've mostly had a slight primer edge around them so cutting wasn't too hard... This one has no edge and I'm having an extremely hard time getting it cut to my standards...

Wet shrink or dry H pattern in high or low anchor form, and I still can't get the freaking top corners of all chargers in one piece, without splicing fourth big line at the top. I use fine steel wool, 3000 sandpaper and wet sand the burrs and mix of purified water and Johnson's baby shampoo for cleaning/tinting. I only have two years in automotive tint, and I use Llumar ATC. Advice only on b/g only please. Just to add 08 chevy Malibu same issues.

I tried tinting a Charger Windsheild tonight, and after 2 failed attempts told the customer to come back tomorrow because I had another car coming and he agreed. I 99% of the time use the wet shrink method and it never fails, I spray the sheild with my soapy solution, lay the tint out, do a rough cut, and H pattern, and work my way from the tips of the vertical fingers. For some reason every now and then I get a car that gives me a hard time, and I cannot due relief cuts because of no defrost lines. anyways, any tips on a window or anyone out there do one? it kind of curves both ways its a very difficult sheild.

2001 Viper

I've searched on here but since this model is a little older and I didn't see any posts on it I wanted to see what you all can tell me about this back window. Some say it's easy, some say it's hard and then others say just take your time shrinking. I'm doing one of these along with the customers new 2015 Challenger Hellcat which I've done plenty of, but its the Viper that I've never done that I'd like to hear about. Do you do dry or wet, H pattern or just straight across the middle? Is the reverse roll better or franky? Thanks for the help in advance!

Did one of these yesterday, very easy car. back window required medium shrinking, but it only measures about 15 inches tall. 4 roll downs were simple. there is a 10mm bolt behind the door handle, and then the top of the door panel can be pulled back. there are 4 clips on the top edge of the door panel. Just yank it back, then pull the seal out.

2014 Ram 1500 SG HP Supreme good factory match?
by Guest Br0- 4 replies
- 1.2k views
Just as title states, I just bought a new ram with factory tinted rears. I took to a tinter who has never failed me in the past and asked him to match the rears. He choose Solargard HP Supreme 16% to match the rears. Well, the fronts have more of a slightly shinny bluish grey tint to the outside than the rears, and from the inside the color is WAY warmer (brown) than the rears which is cooler (bluish). My questions: 1. Is HP supreme considered a good factory match tint by you pros? 2. Would you have considered it here to match? 3. Is there a better (perhaps dyed) SG alternative? Or is my guy WAY off here with is choice? Thanks in advance pros.

Just a heads up. I did one of these today and I never knew that on this model of charger the back deck is raised up unlike any charger I have seen. I had to use a bulldozer to get it at the bottom. I just started working for a Chrysler,Jeep and Dodge dealership and haven't seen this until now. Just one more thing to make a kinda pita car a little more of a headache.

Overall, VERY easy car (truck).... Nothing major to watch out for, no reason to pull the seals, they tuck easily. Mirror is easy to remove, just the normal hex screw... Back window has less border than similar trucks (silverado etc) but still has plenty of room. Line up the factory edge of the film to the border at the bottom of the back window so you don't have to cut it (makes it easy if the truck has a tool box...)
