Just a heads up. I did one of these today and I never knew that on this model of charger the back deck is raised up unlike any charger I have seen. I had to use a bulldozer to get it at the bottom. I just started working for a Chrysler,Jeep and Dodge dealership and haven't seen this until now. Just one more thing to make a kinda pita car a little more of a headache.

Overall, VERY easy car (truck).... Nothing major to watch out for, no reason to pull the seals, they tuck easily. Mirror is easy to remove, just the normal hex screw... Back window has less border than similar trucks (silverado etc) but still has plenty of room. Line up the factory edge of the film to the border at the bottom of the back window so you don't have to cut it (makes it easy if the truck has a tool box...)

Long time no see guys, I'll post a re-intro later.... These Chargers have always given me hell and for quiet some time I just started refusing to do them.... Beats me why, but it's one of the only cars anymore that I can't get done.... FRUSTRATING! Anyway, I do dry H and as I start to get towards the top / bottom edge (almost done with the section I'm working with) the film will just harden where it won't srink or move anymore which results in just burning / creasing..... Any ideas? I'll take a photo of the part where it gets hard here in a little bit.... I got one of them there cars from Satan in one of the bays right now....

Did my first 2012 Charger today. Very pleased but man are those side windows tight in the corners. Took me a half hour to get the first side window on, but after that I trimmed the other window a little to help fit better. Wish the didnt add the quarter window but over all not to bad.

Hey guys! I've got a 2013 Viper SRT coming in a few weeks (still being built). Customer wants to get it tinted the day takes delivery. Has anyone seen one of these yet or know of anything special to look out for? Seems pretty straightforward, corvette with a less hateful back window but definitely want to know before I get my hands on this $100k beast! Thanks! Emily

alright so a guy came in here and wanted HEMI PERFORMANCE done in the same font as the SRT font along the hood scoop on his truck. I tried looking around to see if anyone has found a similar font that is close. I came across "Sofachrome" but in my opinion it isn't even close. I tried playing with it to see if I could get it to match up a little better but I don't like the way it matches up. just curious if anyone one else has found a font that would work or if anyone has any suggestions would be awesome

Im not a panel puller but I have to redo a couple windows on this turd tomorrow. Had a heck of a time with it first go around which is embarassing as it looks like it could be done blindfolded Any tips on pulling the panel? I know on a chrysler 200 I got the top panel to pull back enough to pull bottom sweep but I couldn't get this one pop back for me mainly cause custy was waiting on it and a pita, felt like something was going to break.. Gotta get the bottom sweep out and put whole piece in at one time, really the only way! Oh and don't knock me until you've tinted one of these little bastards with all the seals in

Hey what's up guys, hope everyone has had a good season Question: Did a challenger today and afterwords radio speakers not working..granted i didnt hear the radio on when i pulled it in or out so i cant say for sure if it worked to begin with or not but you know customer says he was listening on way to drop it off..Radio and all appears like its working fine but its like speakers are on mute?? I didnt take any door panels or anything off just pulled brake light down enough to get film behind behind then popped it back.. any ideas? Luckily guy works at chrysler but i dont see how i could have caused it using minimal water..didnt see an amp in back unless its hid under…

Talk about cake walk!!!! Back glass was a breeze and for all you panel pullers a torx screw behind the door handle and two in the bottom of the pull handle...so a total of three in each door and the panels pop right off. Pull out the sweeps and BAM....smack some tint and your done....I could tell a difference in cutting the roll up top edge...notes the side windows are laminated as well perhaps this is why. Overall could do these everyday . Bothe the silver and black one tuned out flawless.

2010 Dodge Charger
by Guest Effici-Tint- 3 replies

I just did a 2010 Dodge Charger and have only been tinting for about 3 months. I always read these before doing a car I haven't done before. I saw so many people having issues with this car so I thought the worst. They showed up late and there wasn't much time to do it so I told them I would start on the sides and if I couldn't get to the back glass I would do it another day but this way the sides would be done. I had about 4 hours which to the new tinter isn't much time at all. First thing I noticed was that the bottom rubber seal on the roll up windows could be pulled right out! SCORE! I got the first window done in no time so now I was able to take my time. I g…

I'm pretty new to window tinting, but have done a few of my own vehicles in the past (07 Dodge Ram, and 02 Grand Am). I recently purchased a 2011 Avenger, was going to attempt to tint these windows but after reading on the internet it seemed pretty difficult, so I took it to an local tint shop where I know the guy has quite a bit of experience. Anyways, got the tint on and it looked great, took it back for a window roll down and now there are some problems. I'm not sure if I'm just too picky, but now in the bottom corners of the two front windows, closest to the door pillars, there are these "squiggly" lines I'm guessing air bubbles? Is it possible for these to dry out in…

Tinted my buddies beat up daily driver last weekend... Threw Huper Optik X-treme 35 on sides and rear. He was just wanting a black look to tie in with the top. Car has black interior, so it looks really dark...but legal in Florida. The car is pretty cool... Lowered, 18" wheels and all wet sanded so the paint is all satin. Will be painting it soon.

Back window is a cake walk, rear windows are a little tricky with the bottom curve but definately do-able and came out perfect. Had a problem with this car a few years ago, now I have another one sitting in my shop and cannot for the life of me get the front driver passenger windows done for the life of me. . . I understand pulling the bottom seal but what do you guys do about the felt sides? I taped them and keeps creasing when I roll up. . any ideas? Ive had problems like this with the new chrysler 200s but not like this. . .tips?

Tinted the roll-ups on an 11' pickup, went to pull it out, and the wipers are on without the switch being on? The dash lights are all on as well. No water touched the dash, no visor either. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, hooked it up and still nothing. Brought the customer out, he gets and all the sudden they turn off. WEIRD. He's gone for now, does anyone have any idea what happened? I can't imagine a ecm in one of the doors, but who knows?

I install for one of the largest dodge dealers in the midwest and have tinted hundreds if not 1000's of new style dodge ram trucks . we normally remove the small plastic screw/plug in the rear of the doors and easily pull the window wipe molding out for ease of installation . Last week one of my installers was in a rush so did not pull the wipe seal out and installed front roll up's traditionally . After pulling the truck out he advised me the windshield wipers would not turn off . After examining the vehicle i also found the gauge cluster ,speedometer, tach, door locks and windows were inoperable and all warning lights were all lit . After a small WTF i pulled the panel o…

Hey guys I just tinted a Dodge avenger today the back window was a very easy one peice installation no problems there but the sides are a nightmare. Between Avengers and its bigger brother the Charger I hate these cars side windows. I wasted a few pieces of film before I figured out how to pull the bottom scraper sheild. Come to find the bottom scraper film was not the problem its the side felt strips. I noticed on this car as well as other dodges/jeep products, they make it nearly impossible to tuck film behind it without creasing it!! any tips or tricks on these cars? I thought about pulling the whole seal but they are such a pain to fish back in there and get back…

This is brand new truck...some tips if your doing any 2011 4500 series. The seals come out very easily almost exactly like the 300c, one screw behind the handle..."optional" remove 1 plastic screw on each side on the panel up top and the piece that just pulls off at the top of the panel shaped like a triangle just cant think of the name of it. Tape your felt up and away you go !

These cars are a bit of a pain if you remove dr panels anyways. however I did 1 yesterday and figured out you can get the gasket out by just removing the screw in the door handle and pull back the top of the panel letting you remove the gasket. Worked really well too because to completely remove the door panels on this car will take you about 45 mins to an hour. no matter how good you are. the window regulator is bolted thru holes that also hold the dr panel in place. all in all if you only pull the gaskets you can save yourself some time. Also did the front windshield of this car and it was pretty easy as far as windhsields go.

I work for a Chrysler dealership and tint a sh** load of Challengers. The only thing I don't like about them is the defrost lines on the rear window. They're STUPID THICK !!! I've figured out many tricks to keep the tint from puckering, but I still have one problem. The top defrost line is very close to the black border around the window. The tint doesn't want to stick between this area without an ass load of persuasion. The best thing I've found to do is to squeegee out as little water as possible and let the tint slowly cure. While this is risky for obvious reasons, it's the best method I've found so far, but I still need to heat the outside of the glass and addr…

Put 5% on the whole car, not my choice, I do not run the business. Anyway, nice car, but for a 6.1 Hemi, thing sounded like every other car out there. No rumble in this exhausts, didn't know the doors acted like beemers and rolled down a bit when opened, so we tricked them. back glass was a cake walk, but sucked puttin it on the back inside, damn headrests so f--ing big, just in the way, it was warm here so I was sweating. black on black car with leather and suede, nice..and of course I forgot my camera at home, I really gotta start bringing it to work for some pics, anyway that is my 2 cents....

this is my shop now and would love to know the story behind it? since laminated glass has started showing up in newer cars this has me scared about what the glass needs to be broke out to save a life. i think we will start hearing about this in the news in the next couple of years about lawsuits about laminated glass on door glass. if it was a film 4mil on the inside it would be totally different in my opinion... just wanted to see if there is anyone out there that doesnt like this either...

did my first one of these today and i learned my lesson real quick to pull the seals out. i actually pulled the door panels since there was only 3 screws holding them on. the back back side windows got me as well. didn't pay much attention and cut the passenger side and used it as a template for the drivers side not realizing that they are two different sizes. took me way to long to do, but i'm still almost a virgin to tinting. after it was all said and done, i was happy with the job. will post pics of finished job if anyone is interested got a caliber coming in tomorrow. hopefully i can knock it out quicker than this thing....already read about not pulling the panels. …
