Alright this is the deal. I'm new to window tint. I've got about 2 months under my belt. In general I'm getting the hang of it but right now I have a 95 dodge intrepid in my shop and this back glass is really kicking my AZZ!! It's such a contoured peice of glass that I don't know what to do. I've tried every method I can think of and different horizontal anchor points, either higher or lower. Every thing I try seems to fail. I'm burning through my tint and I just want to get this thing done and gone. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? It's amazing a month a ago a guy came to me with an 85 corvette with a much more contoured back glass and I was able to get that…

Hi, had a call to tint one of these, just the back 3, is there anything to look out for? Is the film tricky to tuck behind the edges? I've seen photos online and most have crome edging.

Sounds lame but I don't understand why I couldn't get it down. The rear window kept giving me h3ll, is this a easy shrink? I mean I've done quite a few cars with success some pretty hard ones like rabbit or gtis. Had to send them home with no tint which I hate to do. I was trying to dry shrink with wax , and moved on to soap. I'm using QDP for this one and usually don't have any problems except here and there but I always get it done. Any advice or tips on where to anchor it down and whats the best method to do it.

Hey saw a few posts about this car but wasn't really sure what I was getting myself into when I got a phone call about doing one, so I did one last night and heres some things to watch out for if you guys do one. The rear strut that lifts the back glass I had to use a locking pair of channel locks because it wouldn't stay open, and when your putting the film on tuck behind the struts on each side before squeeging out because it doesnt leave you much room. The heat wasnt too bad I wet shrank it and left a few fingers on the side until I did my final cut and then worked on those and it came out great, not much room to get inside the car but u can frankenstein the film up on…

Just had one of these dropped off at the shop and before the girl dropped it off told me she had quite a few quotes for 250+, I have personally never done one of these but hear these are notorious for being a pain in the @$$. I figured I'd love the experience to hear what people are talking about and lets just say the rumors are right, I looked through a few posts already about this car but anybody have any other tips? I went shrink just about everything. I booked a 4 hour block for this car but would HATE to do 2 pieces. Any pointers oh mighty forum posters?

Was not a good day. I never in my life thought these cars were still around. I have never tinted one before and what a pain in the a**! I dry shrunk the front glass and went back over wet and even the quarter glass. back glass was a fun one, took all the plastic off and spoiler and only got regular price for the tint because I was not there to quote so I had to eat it. On top of it I had an older 4 dr cutlass next, I was about ready to kill my boss(greedy)! Lets just say the cutlass was rescheduled. The front windows on the dodge were actually harder to master than the back glass. Like someone said, charge double or let someone else deal with it. Sorry about the negativit…

Well my sister got an 08 dodge charger yesterday and was wondering about tint. I've had some experience with tinting but still consider myself a newbie . Is this too hard of a car for someone new to take on or do you think I have a shot? I noticed the rubber on the inside around the windows is really tight, any suggestions? Also, should I wet shrink or dry? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and remember its for my sister so she won't be as picky as a normal customer would be. I just wanted to know what everyone thought as far as giving it a shot for some good practice. I got stans dvds so I figured I would practice some of my new methods.

I read a lot of posts on this forum but I don't post very much, so I'ld like to introduce myself. I've been tinting for 7 years now I'm 22years old. I got some autozone tint and tinted my first vehicle when I was 16 and a guy in town asked me who tinted my windows. I told him that I had done it myself. He told me that he thought I did a good job. He happened to be the owner of a local truck accessory shop that did window tinting also and asked if wanted to start working for him. Long story short, I went to work for him and learned a lot from another tinter that he already had working there. so thats my short story of how I got started. For the last 4 years I've just been…

in florida you can go to your eye doctor and get a certifacate for tinting windshields, if you have skin cancer or very sinsative eyes? this certifacate must be registered with the state.

a customer comes in the shop and asks if he can have one window tinted. I said sure, he says he has to wait though because the glass man had exsplain that he has to keep the window up for 24 hours..BS.. when I looked it seamed all right but when I took a closer look at the glass, well all know that glass has curves..we all know as tinters that a charger has alot of curve? well this glass was after market and had some but no where near the curve of what the factory glass had. you could see a opening between the weather strip and the glass. I checked the stamp on the glass and never heard of what type of glass it was? "kon fui glass.? realy no clue." well needless to say t…

Grabbed a shot of the 09 challenger at the Darlington Cup race . Small rear windows and frame-less doors . This car will be easier to tint than a mustang.

SRT-4 BG shrink problems 1 2
by Guest jimmies- 12 replies
- 4.8k views
I'm admittadly new to this tint game, and shrinking the back glass of an SRT-4 is getting the better of me right now. I use the dryer sheet method with an H pattern, and I divide the glass into 6 sections: 3 above the anchor line and 3 below. I start with the bottom middle, then do the bottom sides. After that, I do top middle, then top sides. When I start a section, I divide a large finger into two smaller ones - starting my shrink at the top of the finger and gradually pressing the whole thing out. Once I've got the large one or two fingers in an area done, I move to the next (sides usually). I can get both top and bottom middle sections to lie down nice and flat, bu…

At first glance it looks like a minature Charger. The rear window is a very easy one piece install. I removed the door panels on the front two doors and tucked the rear door seals. If the film is pre-shrunk on the outside then front door panel removal isn't necessary. The door seals do not come out like they do on the Charger. Overall it is an easy install

Has anyone done these back side "doors"?? I was just at a dealer today and saw that the 08 back sliding doors now roll down....there is also a 8" to 9" 1/4 round plastic in the way on the back bottom edge. Do I need to raise my "mini-van" pricing for these or are they going to be easy still??

Pretty simple vehicle except for rear glass , I removed everything in my way and didn't take long . The design makes sense if someone is riding back there w/ the headrests in the way , anyway made good $$$ as the owner figured it would h**l to get the film on that back glass .
