Trying to remove the rear wiper arm so I can shrink the back glass and can't figure out how to get the arm off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doing full vehicle including windshield on this next week at an NFL players house garage an hour away, anybody done one? I have not seen one in person or know if there is anything to watch out for.

Got one comin in on friday. The rear glass looks reminiscent of the older camaros, corvettes, etc. but doesn't tear drop of dovetail at the bottom. Anybody done one yet? I'm not expecting anything crazy.

Got to see it up close this week, although I did not tint it yet. If your not familiar with Porsche, and you plot your window tint, it will appear that the previous yrs kit will work. The vehicle is pretty similar to the older models, and the windows are all in the same shape. Do Not Plot the older model, all the windows have been changed. The front doors are shorter in length and a bit taller. Back doors are about 1 in wider and taller. The rear 1/4’s are smaller and they made those little front 1/4’s bigger. Also the door panels resemble the Panamera now, with the Torx screws behind the trim piece. Looks to be a 1 piece gasket all the way around, but it does have a felt…

1 min. door removal on youtube front panels (search).. pull up seal (1 piece but can be done). . felt 1 whole strip and push back in....same passenger side.. clean with alcohol and sand it down so felt can stick good...4th pic remove torx screws for rear panels.. pull up seals(dont be afraid) and felt 1 whole piece.. NO small pieces to reduce chances of peeling off felt.. CAR IS SUPER EASY TO TINT..

I am going to tint my Porsche Panamera tomorrow and I heard that the windows don't have felt and scratch the tint. Do I need the felt or not? Also is crystaline film worth the price? Thanks

I haven't seen the car yet...the client is saying he has bucket seats that do not tilt forward. Has anyone had any issue applying film to the back windows because of the seats being immobile?

Not done one of these before so i thought i'd share…. tailgate's a bit tight so i removed the rear trims(easy peasy) door card removed has to be the easiest ever, torx screw behind handle pull, and the whole card lifts up,i rested it on the bottom "tags" to save unplugging all the cables which still gave good access to the glass. the weather strip is all one piece so just pulled it out of the way.. ps the glass is soft so may score when cutting template BEWARE

Hey guys, Had a customer with a few race cars call me up saying he has a dark film on his GT2 and wants it removed I did tell him there's small chance of demister being damaged and he doesn't want to risk that (99% of the time demisters are fine as I steam I trash bag the rear screen) what are these demisters like? has anyone had to remove film before? last thing I want is to be up for a new genuine rear screen but if I successfully do this job it opens future opportunities with this customer. regards, Brendan

so my buddy has a car audio shop and for some reason has come upon 3 of these. I tried one piecing with raygaurd at first but it wasnt taking the heat just wanted to melt near the end, so I did my first seam with marathon and it came out great for a old crappy window I think. I steel wooled the defroster lines, razored the old black paint that was left and pressure washed the crap out of it. lol. the vynil outside of the glass on top is because someone used put clear silicon bead along the top edge and it looked kinda weird, probably to seal a water leak. still gotta do the rest of the car but should be pretty easy compared to the back. gonna try one piecing one of the ot…

Stumbled on this one out of a panic yesterday... If you want to get the little windows up with the top down, just put your finger in the spot where the top hook latches when it goes up. Stick your finger in there ( you will feel the lever that the hook hits) and then push the window button. The quarter windows will go up because your finger makes the car think the top is up. Sorry I didn't get a picture.

They added small windows in front of the doors kinda like a Bentley. Just a heads up in case you price this without seeing it first. Not terribly hard, but more work = more $.

Will a 36" roll be wide enough to get the back window done in one piece? and how bad are the rear quarters? This should be way easier than a 944 or am I just kiddig myself?

I just tinted this ride today, 06 Caymen, It looks like a cross between a Boxter and a 911, but is looks really sweet. I tinted it with Huper Optik 50%.

The last one I did got rear ended and totaled, so he picked up this super nice one and swapped his V8 and everything over to it. Sadly it didn't have tint. AirBlue 80 on the windshield, 35 ATR CH on the doors and 20 ATR CH on the rears I was really sad finishnig up the backglass, it was immaculate, then I noticed some specs, peeld it back, put it back down, still there. Peeled it back again, grinding pits. A near perfect job and the BG is full of grinding pits on the driver's side.

just did one of these yesterday anyone have any tips on these side roll-ups? I read on here that someone removes the 2 fronts and does them but I'd rather not do this. seals are to hard to tuck and removing them is not an option since they are one piece all around. I got them done but I am expecting a possible peel since I am not too far below the gasket.

a back glass in 4 pieces
Last reply by lostinbama, -
I am new to this site and a new shop owner--but I'm not new to the tint game. I've been tinting windows for about 16 years and have only attemped one 944 backglass. I didn't get it finished and had to let it go with only the sides done, only because the shop I worked for wouldn't let me try it anymore. I wasted to much film. Now I have my own shop for the first time and what just happens to be my first car. Yep, a late 80's 944s. I mean come on. I've done a few sets of doors with front strips on a few trucks since I opened, but now my first actual car is this. The customer is a friend of mine and will be using the car to race in a stock class road course class. …

I got a custy that has a porsche 944 and needs the windows tinted I saw it and I feel it is possible to do but he said other shops wouldnt touch it because the glass was to soft for heating and would scratch when cutting the back glass. I wan't to do it just to say I have accomplished that car. I got the Vettes and Bugs down in one peice now im ready to step it up. I would appreciate it if any one could give me some heads up.
