Hi all Hope you can help , 2 years ago I paid nearly £2,000 to complete a window tinting course which was 3 days long, don't get me wrong it was fantastic but over the 3 days I had no problems the hardest car I had to heat shrink was a ford focus which was straight forward. So a few weeks later I was tinting out of my garage using solar guard NR charcoal , all was going great untill I came across a Renault Clio I went thru about 60 feet of film trying to heat shrink it but it would always shrink up to a point then disstaut , I gave up and went back to the drawing board ..... Any advice at all would b fantastic as I am really hoping to get a business going this year .....…

Ok, so I had one of these in today, and I must say it was a b*tch! For those that don't know, I am quite new to tinting. I've done many cars and my confidence has shot up and they've all been perfect, or near perfect installs. The sides on the scenic were a piece of cake, however when it came to the rear, I just couldnt get around it!! I went through 7 tries until I got it done. And thats not even doing it properly, I had to splice/seam/split/two piece (whatever the hell you want to call it) it. And it looked perfect once it was done. However, this brings me on to me on to my next quesiton.. I have never ever done the 2 piece method before today, so had to experiment. I…

What do you guys do? Would ideally like to remove the bottom gasket to get a better install, anyone know how these gaskets come out or are they fixed to door card? Or should i remove door card, but im pretty sure on these the door card splits in 2, has a inspection flap that opens and im sure the door card is attached to the reg?

Nice to do, not an easy one piece though, lovely fixed rear side lite, front doors ideally need door trim removal. Not all that difficult.......once you get the trim off, the rubber slots out. Tape up the vertical edges with masking tape to prevent felt contamination. Speaker grille in the bottom of the big doors........prise out the black central part that allows the sound to come out and leave the chrome surround in place. Series of 4 screws in behind and 2 at the very bottom of the door. The grab handle.........prise off the grey plastic cover and it exposes another 2 tork screws and that's it. devil

First post here so I'll start off by syaing hi and I'm a complete novice. I'm having trouble doing my rear mk2 clio window. I'd like to do It myself as I've done all the other windows but this one Is proving to be a real PITA. I'm on my second try now and the same things happening. The film has the basic shape of the car now but It Is crinkled all over. Perhaps It's just cheap film I'm using that Is causing this or perhaps (probably) It's me I can get one small sectioned smoothed out using a hard card coverd In a paper towel then as soon as I move to another area the area that I've just done crinkles up again? Don't know If It makes a difference but I'm using talc to lu…

Hi all. Tinted the back windows of a 5 door Megane. Everything was finished and rebuilt, just as the customer arrived to collect it the drivers rear quarter window shattered. Luckily he was very understanding. Any ideas why this would happen? As I don't want to tint and fit a new window for it toi happen again and I'm worried about the other window. Thanks

I've been dreading one of these cars for ages now after all the hype I'v e read about this window but it isn't bad at all. I just left my anchor line high and just took my time and it worked out perfect. Just a tip (that worked for me) for any newbies gonna do one. when you start shrinking, do the bottom half first and don't shrink the top yet as you wont be able to slide the film down a little if you overshrink the bottom edge if you get me. here are a couple of pics - suntek carbon 5%

Hey, So, roll ups no problems, the back glass's I have no with relatively no trouble, just the usual teething probs, but I got my first clio2 coming in. I know Naughty Dog has a tip with heightening anchour position but really, what shrink method should I use? I should say, being relatively new to this, I have wet shrunk everything and not ventured beyond this but I know this sucker is going to try me!! But, I promise you, I will not give up!!

very easy car to do, rear glass is quicker in two pieces, dont know about 4 door version but 2 door version- rear side's are very easy as usual, front sides are easy to but no need to pull panels- just pull back the top of the panel and hook out the rubber! very easy!

Got the clio rear in one peice today (for first time) with soap method, although I had a several 'practice' attempts before I went for the real one used silhouette SP05 - are there any other brands that may shrink better than this product?? Or is it all in the shrink technique purely?? be interested to know if certain brands shrink better than others, especially with tricky screens cheers in advance ps do I get a medal for tinting clio in one or is it old hat?

cam belt tensioner broke on 19 1.4 energy. I have replaced cam belt and tensioner. Engine spins over fine but its not even trying to start (as if timing way out). need to know if I've got timing right. mark on camshaft at top - rotor at No.1 mark on crank at bottom which places piston 1 at tdc this also means the two marks on cam belt are right. distributor has not been touched. can anyone help please as car needed urgently?

I am about to go and buy a starter motor for my Renault Megane as mine has died. I've found one at a breakers for ?45 which I am happy to pay, but now have the challenge of fitting it... My question is: Is it possible to replace the starter motor on a 1997 Renault Megane (1.6) without taking anything else off the engine? The reason I ask this is because the starter motor is in possibly the most inconvenient place possible - under the engine, in the centre, about a foot up from the bottom of the engine - I.e. literally in the centre of the engine, but with the only access from below. Can I do this job on my own with basic tools and a standard jack? Will I require …

totally easy car,if your unsure, pop the panels as the rubber strip at the top of the door is a bit tight! rear window is by far the easiest 1 piece rear window I've done in a long time! watch how you tint the rear quarter tho, slightly over cut the diagonal side that goes down and cut it tight to the straight edge,if you cut it perfectly on the outside, when you put it on the inside there is a slight light gap!
